Nansen request anon here, he is so pretty and cute! Love him, thank you so much for drawing him! Saw the Toumyu reference! Out of interest have you seen all of the musicals? If so which are your favourites? (Personally I love Paraiso and Kousui!)

Unfortunately I have not watched any of the musicals and have only seen a few clips scattered across the internet. Most of what I know about TouMyu is through the albums available on Spotify and my imagination has to fill in visual gaps. So far, I've listened to:

Atsukashiyama Ibun: Listened to this once and don't have a strong impression on it. ngl I thought 'Touken Ranbu' was tacky as hell when I first heard the song lmfao (but it gets progressively better with each musical.)

Mihotose no Komoriuta: 'Kazaguruma' gets me right in the kokoro.

Kishou Hongi: Second favorite! I'm expecting to see 'Kazaguruma II' and 'Blackout' by Muramasa as the most replayed songs for this year's Spotify Wrapped lol.

Tokyo Kokoro Oboe: Currently trying to make my way through this one... if I could just get 'Soto no Hikari' off repeat HAHA. (Sorry the Miike kyoudai bias is too strong but I'm coming for you Buzen!! 🫶)

Kousui Sanka no Yuki: I absolutely love the cast and songs so this one has definitely got to be my favorite so far! All of Yamanbagiri's songs keep gripping at my heart and the pure spiritual healing from hearing Nansen going "nya!"... I'm also having feelings for Izuminokami that I didn't know existed (yeeurgh, 'Dakishimete Ame' got me blushing!!)

Kana juga suka Ruriiro no Sora San. Tapi ketimbang lagu2 bernada semangat kayak Setsuna, dia justru demen lagu yg aga nyes: dia bakal demen Hana no Ame Kimi no Nagori, perhaps semua solonya Manba dia bakal demen www. Also dia bakal demen Chiru Hana wo.

Minami ... Kalo liat seleranya di atas dia kayaknya bakal satu selera sama Kana. Plus point dia bakal demen Erabarerumono sama Noraneko Nihiki.

Terus gue ngebayangin Mai seleranya lagu anu (wjaksgsksjss) she probably will likes Scarlet Lips ato Yura Yurara, ato YSS, dengerinnya sambil ngerjain gambar komis klien. Kadang dengerin Eoeoa kalo lagi ga mood denger lagu anu.

Akari satu selera sama Mai (she'll like Scarlet Lips and Secret Sign so much gue yakin). Also dia bakal demen lagu kebangsaan umat toumyu aka Touken Ranbu (isi playlistnya Touken Ranbu dari jaman Atsukashiyama Ibun sampe yg terbaru versi Kousui Sanka no Yuki).

Akane demen lagu yg lucu2~ dia bakal suka Brand New Sky sama Super Duper Day sama Eoeoa (trus dia ngajakin Shou dengerin juga). Perhaps suka lagu yg aga absurd juga kayak Kappore sama Waga Mitogaku (lagi2 habis itu ngajak Shou ikut dengerin).

A bit later than I’d planned, but still plenty in time! Toumyu’s take on Yamanbagiri is really interesting, and Ookanehira is so good~

Keep in mind that these are only the subtitle files, timed and tled to the DMM senshuuraku and shonichi (first day) respectively. The archive version will have a talk at the start, so the starting times of the subs will have to be delayed accordingly. If your video shows Koryuu in colour, rather than in all black (his actor had a body stand-in due to injury while he himself provided the voice) you’ll want the shonichi version.

needed context: Manba sings this song while crafting an umbrella (kasahari). Later in the musical we learned that once in a previous mission where he was captain, Manba had failed to save a teammate and that sword broke.

ㅤ

(1) As @/urahanabi has pointed out, this could either mean the singer (in this case, Manba,) is remembering the warmth he and this “you” had shared under the umbrella, OR literal remnants. As in, their dying blood splashed on the umbrella. So, this entire part could possibly be painting a picture of how that sword died; blood splashed on Manba’s umbrella as he perished in a rain of petals.

(2) Here, the words 咲く and 散る, (flowers) blooming and falling, are used to tie in with the flower theme BUT 咲く can also mean laughing. Both the living, smiling you and the fleeted (dead…) you are as beautiful as cherry blossoms.

(3) Here, the word that’s used for cherry blossoms is 徒名草 (‘adanagusa’) which is sorta like a nickname.

some extra notes: man, i don’t know…the kind of language and shamisen accompaniment used in this song, the fact that manba was doing all kinds of crafts throughout kousui, and manba dodging hizen’s question when asked about the honmaru’s starter sword…makes me believe the sword who broke was kasen.

My subtitles are (per usual) for the senshuuraku (the last show)! If you don't know which version you have, the one with black Koryuu is the senshuuraku. Since it's the archive version there will probably be a bit of actor talk before the actual show starts, so please shift the timing of the subtitles so that they start at the right moment 🙇‍♀️

However, depending on demand I may re-edit and re-time them for the shonichi (the first show) too 💪
