Skincare Starts With You
Hello new skin-friends! My name is Jaz and I’m 100% into everything skincare. We’ll discuss ingredients, products, beauty secrets, practices and everything skin-loving.
Since this is an introduction I figured I’d keep it appropriate with an introduction to skincare. We follow the K-beauty regimen, which for a beginner can be a bit overwhelming, so we’ll keep it simple for now and discuss only the most important elements.
Building your beauty arsenal will help keep your skin clean, smooth and sebum balanced. To build your regimen you’ll first incorporate a daily cleanser, for use at morning and night to deep clean pores and rinse away excess oil, bacteria and dirt, a toner which replenishes vitamins stripped away during cleansing and a daily moisturizer to help lock in the enrichment of natural emollients [natural agents that provide a softening or soothing effect].
As your beauty arsenal grows, you’ll tailor your skincare regimen and products for your specific skincare needs and enhance the elasticity, appearance and texture of your skin.
Lastly for three easy skincare rules that you’ll want to incorporate into your #SkincareBible
1) No picking your skin. Wear mittens if you have to and make a conscious effort to keep skin clean by eliminating bacteria from hands.
2) Wash your face and moisturize in the morning and night to help balance sebum production and reduce excess over production.
3) Eat plenty of skin-loving fruits and vegetables and build up your water intake by starting with 1/2 gallon of water a day.

Word of the Day -
AHA
AHAs, also known as Alpha Hydroxy Acids, are organic compounds used in skincare preparations that aid in the reduction of wrinkles, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, discoloration and also brighten the complexion and improve blood flow. They speed exfoliation of dead surface skin cells to reveal new fresh skin beneath and makes way for new skin cell generation.

What’s on Skin-u for KreesSkincare today? A power-packed nutritional burst of garlic roasted broccoli & cauliflower, with raw mushrooms and shredded cheddar.
••Not only does cauliflower and broccoli improve brain and cognitive function, but antioxidants in them help to clear dark spots, enhance skin texture and delay the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles due to their richness in vitamins like C & K
••Mushrooms are rich in concentrations of vitamin D, selenium and antioxidants that strengthen and protect the skin from harmful environmental damage. They also contain anti-inflammatory properties which may improve skin conditions like eczema, acne and rosacea
Cheese is our guilty pleasure and we know that high sodium content can lead to dull skin, so we opt for low sodium and vegan cheeses that give a healthier option for our veggies.

MYTH BUST - People with oily skin shouldn’t use moisturizer
There’s a very common misconception that people with oily skin don’t need moisturizer because their skin is oily enough and I’m here to say, that’s simply not true.
When we wash our faces, we incidentally strip away essential oils in the skin and since our skin is reactive, will work to produce more oil to compensate for this dryness. If your skin is naturally oily and it’s overproducing sebum, it may lead to clogged pores and further breakouts.
Incorporating a lightweight moisturizer into your daily regimen after cleansing will help provide a protective barrier and enrich skin with acne fighting ingredients while balancing sebum production.
