Among the Kuria tribe of Tanzania and Kenya, women can marry each other.
The Nyumba ntobhu (house of women) tradition allows a non-sexual same-sex marriage, usually between older widowed women without a child and younger women who will potentially bear children from any male.

The GCS team were honoured this evening to share personal testimonies and the Gospel at an open air crusade in Chankoba village. Tanzania has more than 120 tribes, all with their own traditions and customs. Tonight’s event was attended by several tribes including Sukuma, Haya, Jita, Luo, and Kuria. Once again, we had such a receptive audience, and everyone listened very quietly to what we had to share. We came away feeling that everyone understood the Gospel message. Please pray for these communities to experience genuine Salvation through the Gospel. Thank you to those of you who have been praying for this campaign. #GCSTanzania #GCSUnitedStates #GCSUK #GCSPrayer https://www.instagram.com/p/CWl8DS6IGDY/?utm_medium=tumblr
