Goba's Kung Fu revisited

Goba, as both a practitioner of Kame-sennin-ryu (Or Turtle Sage Fist/Way of The Turtle/Turtle Style), a hybrid martial art that is similar to wing chun, with principles from both wushu and karate, making it an exceptionally hard style built on the grounds of a soft one, with concepts such as the center line, a high and narrow stance, with economy of action, and explosive force.

Intuitive to even the most unpolished of fighters, Turtle Style is determined to be a simplistic and intuitive system of fighting which rewards its practitioners for raw physical prowess and agility. As the "hard" half of the style, the physical realm allows its users to easily overpower other humans, even those on their own relative level. The "soft" half, meanwhile, focuses strongly on the principles of qi manipulation and enhancement, as well as an ability to utilize the kamehameha, and ki blasts seamlessly in this overall.

Due to her predominantly being trained by Kuririn, Goba's style also hybridizes concepts from Shaolin Kung Fu, but prominently a weaving and movement style relied upon heavily by shorter fighters. Unlike her father, Goba frequently will attack the base and roots of a fighter to undermine their stance, rather than solely keying at the head. Additionally, concepts of Drunken Boxing, such as the stance and weaving motions, have also been integrated into the defensive component of her movements, overall less snappy than the likes of Goku or Yamcha.

As a result of her multi-dimensional trekking, Goba's style has become influenced by various fighters, including shinobi from a certain universe, and a particular pirate. While still maintaining a swift motion style, Goba exploits her unusual speed, using rotations to repeatedly feint out opponents, contrary to the usually direct and efficient movements of her baseline kung fu, while also relying on the winding motions to quickly compound raw power onto any strike that she makes. Furthermore, she has developed the ability to fight from a variety of positions, often moving freely and loosely, in both how she evades, and how she winds into shots, even featuring headbutts and unorthodox strikes like heel-kicks and haymakers.

Through the enhancement typical of a qi user, Goba generally enhances the speed of her attacks, as has been her MO for a while, though she also has been prone to ramping her qi up violently at the moment of impact, in a sort of low-tech variation of kaioken.

Alongside other qi-based tech is a habit of Goba's to occasionally fire close-range blasts from her palm with little warning, or otherwise disguised as a strike. Though functionally a standard-level qi blast would no be much more powerful than her fist, the blinding light and explosive noise can serve as a disarming distraction to some. Otherwise, her qi attacks are interspersed infrequently, often against foes to who it might be a hazard to approach typically, or to follow-up an attack that sends foes flying. Sparingly used in most circumstances, a rogue destructo disc will usually spell doom for someone who has allowed themselves to go slack.

When fighting armed, Goba prefers bo, as well as short swords and tonfa. Though she can blend these styles in a number of ways, her kick game often elevates, though she usually has to wield some manner of magically or technologically-enhanced arm for it to not shatter under the pressure of Goba's strikes.

A particular quality of Goba's qi is its ability to slice through the air, sharp and precise, it's unlike that of other saiyans, which will hit more like a hammer against a wall, or more precisely a nail. Instead, Goba is able to focus her energy to make it resemble the edge of a blade, slicing, cutting, and goring. This makes her especially deadly at close range, or when using her kamehameha, creating a sort of drilling impact.

I meant to make note of this earlier because I found it hilarious. Zenkai Power did not seem to have this issue though.ĮDIT: 6:30 in.

To fix the ending I need to get some soundeffects of Kintoun to cover up the lack of sound, though.īy the way, when I did this, I dropped in the TV size stereo Cha-La-Head-Cha-La from the BGM CD, and I realized that the movie version is actually a bit slower. If you notice anything else really glaring, let me know. I'm guessing they added a bunch, especially where they made things have stereo directionality. I found the bleep you're talking about too, and you're right on second listen that it's obviously a bit different. I noticed that during the ending, where there's a bunch of new sound effects for flying wooshes and the kintoun. This happens with several sound effects including the Kinto'un flying, Ki blasts, etc. The sound effects in the Ocean dub have extra sounds overlayed on top of the existing ones. Puto wrote:It's not just audio processing. but I sort of like how it seems like Piccolo is one-upping Kuririn's entrance with the same line in this version. One weird thing I noticed is when they redid the script, during their intro, they gave Kuririn the line Piccolo had in the original dub. The banter between Goku and Piccolo when they strip their weights off makes more sense, for instance. The dialogue for both movies is pretty much the same, though as much as I love the Geneon performance I think some of the rewritten dialogue in the Funimation one is technically better in terms of tone and clarity. Even still, except for one or two cases I've managed to make the transitions fairly seamless. The music is also a lot less loud than the dialogue. In the Funimation version, it's a lot cleaner, but the sound effects and music are a bit tinny, a lot more cutting to the ear. In the Pioneer version, the foley and music are a lot louder compared to the dialogue, though you can hear hiss and hum throughout.

I've seen people upload audio from full episodes before, so hopefully this is within the limits of the forum. The audio's not perfect, but it's pretty seamless save for one or two instances you probably won't notice. though you may have to resync it just slightly depending. It should work with the Dragon Box or the Double Features. You will have to sync it up to your legitimate copy yourself. Like I said, this is JUST AN MP3 of the audio, not the entire movie. So what I have done is uploaded an mp3 of my project. and I bet some other people do too, so here it is. I've always wondered what it would be like for Schemmel's Goku to interact with McNeil's Piccolo. So I took this challenge and re-edited the movie so that Goku, Kuririn, and Roshi from the Funimation version interact with Piccolo, Gohan, Bulma, Garlic Jr. So, since I doubt we'll ever have this film redone by the Kai cast, I instead wondered if it was feasible to combine the best performances of the two into one fan edit and still have the movie make sense. The villains especially have that too gruff/not natural enough thing going for them that they've grown out of in Kai. I also really like Piccolo, but even though I really liked a lot of it, it just wasn't the same as when I was a kid. Sean Schemmel's Goku is really great in this film, as is Sonny Strait's Kuririn. Still, parts of it were really good and you can tell it's much more recent than the later movies. Just recently, I checked out the double feature of Dead Zone to listen to the Funimation dub - something I had never done before - and all it did was make me wish for the full Kai cast. No sleight against Peter Kelamis - he's great in Ed, Edd, and Eddy - but his Goku never sounded natural to me. The Pioneer dub was really great, but at the time I was extremely disappointed that Goku was the new guy instead of Ian Corlett. I'm amazed I still have the VHS tape in its original clamshell case! Back when I was a kid, I watched it subbed, dubbed. I really love the first DBZ movie I think it's probably the one I've watched the most next to the fusion film.

---Dragon Ball--- Genre: Adventure, Martial arts, Science fantasy Manga: Volumes 42 score: (9/10) Dragon Ball is manga series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. The series begins with a boy named Goku befriending a teenage girl named Bulma, whom he accompanies to find the seven Dragon Balls, which summon the dragon Shenlong to grant the user one wish. This story is about Goku who fight with strong opponents to protect world, Namek and his family. We can see his growing up and how he beame stronger.

The journey leads them to bandit Yamcha and later he becomes an ally; Chi-Chi, whom Goku unknowingly agrees to marry in near future; and Pilaf, an evil man who seeks the Dragon Balls to fulfill his desire to rule the world. Goku then has got training under the martial arts master Kame-Sen'nin in order to fight in the Tenkaichi Budōkai.Kuririn becomes his rival and training partner, but they become friends. After the tournament, Goku searches for the Dragon Ball his grandfather left him and he fight with the Red Ribbon Army. Goku reunites with his friends to defeat the fortuneteller Baba Uranai's fighters and to locate the last Dragon Ball. At the Tenkaichi Budōkai Goku and his friends oppose Kame-Sen'nin's rival and his students Tenshinhan and Chaozu. After the tournament Goku tracks down and is defeated by Piccolo Daimao. The samurai Yajirobe takes Goku to the hermit Karin, where he receives healing. Piccolo fights with friends of Goku, and uses the Dragon Balls to regain his youth before destroying Shenlong. Goku then kills Piccolo Daimao, who, just before dying, spawns his reincarnation Piccolo. Karin then directs Goku to Kami-sama, the original creator of the Dragon Balls, to restore Shenlong and revive his friends. Goku trains under Kami for the next the Tenkaichi Budōkai, where he narrowly wins against Piccolo before leaving with Chi-Chi to keep his promise to marry her. Goku is father to his son Gohan, when Raditz arrives on Earth, identifies Goku as his younger brother 'Kakarrot' and reveals to him that they are members of a nearly extinct extraterrestrial race called the Saiyans, who sent Goku to conquer Earth for them, until he suffered a severe head injury and lost all memory of his mission. Goku refuses to continue the mission, sides with Piccolo, and sacrifices his life to defeat Raditz. In the afterlife Goku trains under the North Kaiō until he is revived by the Dragon Balls to save the Earth from the invading Nappa and Vegeta. In the battle Yamcha, Chaozu, Tenshinhan, and Piccolo are killed, and the Dragon Balls cease to exist. Kuririn and the galactic tyrant Freeza learn of another set of Dragon Balls on planet Namek whereupon Bulma, Gohan, and Kuririn search for them to revive their friends and subsequently the Earth's Dragon Balls, leading to several battles with Freeza's minions and Vegeta, the latter standing alongside the heroes to fight the Ginyu Force, a team of mercenaries. The long battle with Freeza himself comes to a close when Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan (超サイヤ人 Sūpā Saiya-jin?) of legends and defeats him.

A group of Androids (人造人間 Jinzōningen?, "Artificial Humans") created by a member of the former Red Ribbon Army, Doctor Gero, appear three years later, seeking revenge against Goku. During this time, an evil life form called Cell also emerges and, after absorbing two of the Androids to achieve his "perfect form," holds his own fighting tournament to challenge the protagonists. After Goku sacrifices his own life to no avail, Gohan avenges his father by defeating Cell. Seven years later, Goku, briefly revived for one day, and his allies are drawn into a fight against Majin Boo. After numerous battles, including destruction and re-creation of the Earth, Goku destroys Boo with a Genki-Dama (a sphere of pure energy drawn from all intelligent beings on Earth) and wishes for him to be reincarnated as a "good person." Ten years later, at another Tenkaichi Budōkai, Goku meets Boo's human reincarnation, Oob. Leaving their match unfinished, Goku departs with Oob to train him to be Earth's new guardian.
