Klaus regarded her with an indifferent look (or what he hoped would come off as one, he wasn't exactly good at hiding his emotions). He then smiled, a hint of amusement on his lips. "You are curious thing --- along with the rest of your...brood," he finally finished, trying to decide the best word to describe them. "One has to wonder why you have decided to come here of all places. Surely you had to know that we vampires wouldn't be all that welcoming."

She was saying all the right things. One had to wonder if she had done her homework --- took the time to learn just what he wanted to hear. Or maybe, just maybe, what she said was genuine. "You wish to combine forces? Or kingdoms as it were..." He laughed a little at the thought. He didn't share power but he also needed time to know his enemy, if that was what she and her kind turned out to be. "I think a tentative alliance could be arranged --- a sort of test drive as it were. After all, if your people listen to you, than you are clearly someone worth knowing."

WHILE AWARE THAT IT MAY NOT MEAN MUCH IN THE LONG RUN, SHE'S AT LEAST PLEASED THAT HE'S WILLING TO HEAR HER OUT. Kisa does truly prefer to settle this without violence, not that she isn't willing to resort to it. "It starts with you and I," she explains simply. "I want us to be on the same side. You scratch my back and I scratch yours," in other words, if any of the other factions had a problem with either one of them, they'd be less inclined to do anything reckless with the vampires, hybrids and culebras working as one. "We'd make one hell of a partnership."

He supposed that if he had to deal with another species trying to etch out a space in the city at least their leader was easy on the eyes --- not mention shrewd. He could appreciate that. He raised both his eyebrows at her declaration. "Hmm," he began, the sound appreciative. "So you are here to ensure that we can all get along? How very ambitious of you. I should like to hear your plan to ensure that no one gets too territorial."

IT'S TRUE THAT CULEBRAS WERE COMING OUT OF HIDING AND ENTERING THE WORLD MORE AND MORE, and it's due to her - their queen. Unlike others of her kind; she's aware that they needed to stick to the shadows to an extent, but there's no reason for them to remain at the bottom of the wrung any longer. "You're right. I'm here to speak for them, but I'm also here to keep them in check," it's as much of a reassurance as she's willing to give him that she intends to cooperate with an allyship, not pick a fight.

He had pricked a nerve. Good to know. He would undoubtably repeat the process whenever he got the chance. He was good at that --- getting under someone's skin just enough to push them towards the inevitable edge. "I never did enjoy hide and seek," he muttered offhandedly. "But now that they are poking their heads up, I assume you are here because you intend to be the spokesperson for your kind."

"UNBELIEVABLE AS IT MIGHT BE TO YOU, I'M NOT HERE TO SATIATE YOUR CURIOSITY," and she took some offence at being called a thing - as if she were merely an object to observe. Enough of her life had been spent treated as an ornament for men. Red lips purse in irritation, her gaze steady and unwavering. He might be at the top of his food chain, but she was also the apex of hers. "Culebras were already living here long before I arrived, they're just good at sticking to the shadows."
