The short woman gave a sigh as she continued to peruse through the store’s selection of glasses. Due to the actions of a certain feline, the reading glasses that the author frequently used were now broken. She required a new pair, and for someone who read as often as she did, she needed one immediately.

Eto passed by the more fashionable selections of glasses, not interested in trends or fads; yet in doing so, she passed by another woman that appeared to be doing the same thing as she was.

“Ah,” Eto gave a soft chuckle, inviting herself into the other woman’s personal space. “Are you not one for those flashy pairs, either?”

“I know this isn’t the kind of drink you’d expect...” Mipha starts before pulling out two bottles of roasted green tea, “But it’s all I could find. I hope this will do. If not, I also brought some snacks.” And right on cue, she pulls out a bag of pastries and treats for the other woman, easing into a smile.

“Thank you for having explored the wards with me. I am still trying to understand this place better...so at least now, I have a general idea about what each place is like.”

“Have you adjusted to this place? I worry I won’t ever fit in.”

▊狐 “My, my. If it isn’t the bouncy tanuki! To seek me out again... could it be you’ve fallen head over heels for this foxy Casko?” It was just a jest, of course, she wasn’t quite as full of herself as that Red Saber.

“Still... Was it mere chance that you’d visit the same bathhouse as me? Were you thinking of sneaking a peek once we go into the water?” Just because she’s outside of the bathhouse doesn’t mean she’s going in, Tamamo.

"I wouldn't stand too close to the lake edge if I were you." Not that it really concerns him, but he'd hate to see a horrible accident when he could have done something to stop it. Meanwhile, while he specifically warns her against standing at the edge he's pretty close himself as well and even goes so far as to sink down to the ground, dipping one finger in the water as if expecting for something to happen. Testing to see if the stories are indeed true. "They say that there are creatures lurking beneath the surface..." He doesn't face her as he says so and instead focuses his attention to the lake's surface waiting for any signs. There aren't any, thankfully. But he still waits.

"...Perhaps they were wrong." Or maybe he's just lucky.

✧·˚. -- It’s a pathetic sight to behold this evening at one of those pop-up bars set up along the edge of the cherry blossoms. Here we have one (1) Seiga Kaku, renowned* Taoist and wicked hermit extraordinaire, slumped over the counter and blubbering in deep distress over a personal tragedy that’s recently occurred. 

There’s also some... whoever that is, but she couldn’t care less. Hope they don’t mind a free show with their drink.

“It’s not faaaaaaaair~!” Cue some forced sniffles here and there. 

“She’s.. like... a daughter to me, a dear child! And... and... she’s goooone! Don’t these people have better things to do than to break apart families?”

Knowledge is power -- that’s some kind of saying that’s loosely tossed around the residents here. While Kosuzu hadn’t heard this prior to her arrival, its meaning becomes more apparent to her in this situation. If she only knew more about these creatures, she could probably do something. 

It’s no surprise that she finds herself holed away in the library. Maybe it isn’t the best idea, but after having broken into the library she weaves between stacks to find whatever she could about these strange creatures. Not to mention there were all manner of books stored in this library -- precious artifacts of power, no matter their origin -- to protect, after all. 

She silently places a small stack of books on the floor in the back corner, going through each of them as thoroughly and quickly as she can -- unbeknownst to her that the other books in the library had different ideas. 

Cue a small line of books and varying office supplies marching, one by one, out of the library -- some hopping through the window in the front face, others taking a more traditional route out the door.

▊狐 “Hoh? And what business does a tanuki have in the village of the foxes?” Tamamo drew her index finger across her lips as she opened one eye. She’d been sleeping rather comfortably against the back of a tree on the city’s outskirts, having offered the residents some protection for a bit of money. Even if she’d been disguised, there was no way that scent could be misinterpreted, though...

“I actually didn’t know there were beautiful tanuki women out there~!” She stumbled sleepily as she leaned forward, searching for something. Grasping something in the grass, she held it up. A bottle. “Come here, come here~ Have a drink with me?” She’d been spending too much time with a certain oni.
