I was sitting and planning today, sketching out rough ideas for how we might organise the experimental plantings around the Nursery at Tampah Hills. I want 100 different species of fruits and Nuts growing at Tampah hills by December 31st 2019 Weve been putting in things like Avocado, Rambutan and Jackfruit recently, that like the well watered microclimates But the hill above our Nursery is Dry. So we will make it a Food forest for things that like the dry conditions, so that we can sparingly irrigate there. Ive just GPS marked all existing trees so we can remodel the hill planting. But you could picture it with hardy shrubs and trees, like Indian Moringa, Pomegranates, Srikaya, Acerola, Mango, Indian Jujube and Cactus fruits. Then beneath them the dry herbs like Aloe vera, Cuban oregano, Rosemary, curry leaf, Wild basils and Pineapples Perhaps a limited vine component with Grape, Butterfly pea, Dragonfruit and Lima Beans Our primary tree legume would be Sesbania grandiflora, and Tephrosia and Crotalaria throughout. Seasonal pigeon peas or mung bean covercrop. Vetiver and lemongrass help provide mulch. Its fun to play with another kind of Tropical vegetation other than the wet forests. Its also very useful. À lot of people own Dry degraded land, so having this small but complete demonstration garden will be a great educational tool #100fruits #buah #lahankering #tahanpanas #fruits #tampahhills #educational #experimentalgarden #drytropics #permaculture #nursery #lombok https://www.instagram.com/p/BxxarG2gnks/?igshid=yde5lps3mkem
