ABC NEWS ANNOUNCES CAMPAIGN PRODUCERS/REPORTERS COVERING 2024 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

ABC News president Kim Godwin sent the following note to the news division announcing the 2024 campaign producers/reporters who will be covering the 2024 presidential election 

Good morning ABC News – 

With the 2024 election season underway, I’m excited to share our team of campaign producers/reporters who will embark on the campaign trail, contributing to all of our political coverage in the months ahead.  

Our 2024 embed class includes Gabriella Abdul-Hakim, Libby Cathey, Abby Cruz, Hannah Demissie, Fritz Farrow, Lalee Ibssa, Nicholas Kerr, Soorin Kim, Will McDuffie, Kendall Ross and Kelsey Walsh.  

We have also designated five alternates in the event that we need more eyes and ears on the ground to cover potential candidates: Kiara Brantley-Jones, Julia Cherner, Isabella Murray, Olivia Osteen and Laura Romero. 

This entire group has a shared passion and drive for chasing the truth and hitting the ground running. I’m confident that this team — alongside our powerhouse political team including political director Rick Klein, deputy political director Averi Harper and senior manager of newsgathering Greg Croft — will provide our news division with reputable and straightforward reporting, guiding viewers through another important election season.  

I hope you’ll take some time to read a little bit about their backgrounds and experiences below.

ABC News*

Gabriella Abdul-Hakim is a New York-based producer with “ABC News Live Prime with Linsey Davis.” She has worked on several Prime specials, including “The Women Left Behind,” commemorating the one-year anniversary of the U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan. She started her career at ABC News as a fellow. 

Libby Cathey is a multimedia reporter for ABCNews.com based in the Washington bureau, covering the White House, Capitol Hill and breaking political news. She started her ABC News career as a desk assistant in Washington. Libby was based in Arizona during the 2022 midterm election, covering races in the state as a campaign producer/reporter. Prior to ABC, she served as a talent and travel coordinator at “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and as a local news story editor at Snapchat. 

Abby Cruz is a D.C.-based producer/reporter for ABC News’ Race & Culture unit, producing and reporting for each ABC News platform. She’s fluent in Spanish and uses her bilingual skills to interview and translate in the field, during interviews and in editing. Abby covered Texas and Nevada as a 2022 midterm election campaign producer/reporter. Prior to ABC, she worked at the Washington City Paper and the Philadelphia Daily News. 

Hannah Demissie is a digital journalist in the political unit, compiling research and reporting on important political developments. She covered the races in North Carolina and Missouri during the 2022 midterm election as a campaign producer/reporter. Previously, Hannah was a desk assistant in Washington and a political unit intern at CBS News. 

Fritz Farrow started his career at CBS News, reporting on the 2020 election with “60 Minutes.” Most recently, he worked as a broadcast associate with the “CBS Evening News” and as a specialist with the political unit, covering the 2022 midterms. In his previous role, Fritz also filled in as head producer in CBS’s Washington bureau on weekends. He has covered negotiations on the infrastructure and social spending bills and produced enterprise pieces, including a story on the only Black military academy in American history. 

Lalee Ibssa is a digital journalist with our Pennsylvania Avenue team in D.C., where she reports and produces from Capitol Hill for multiple platforms. Lalee was previously a desk assistant in Washington. In 2022, she served as a 2022 midterm election campaign producer/reporter covering Georgia. Prior to ABC, Lalee served as a content producer at NBC Bay Area. 

Nicholas Kerr is a digital news associate for ABC News’ western bureaus. Based in Los Angeles, he leads the weekend assignment desk and has assisted with field-producing breaking news coverage ranging from wildfires to mass shooting to elections. Before coming to ABC News, Nicholas interned with WABC’s 7 On Your Side investigative unit and served as editor-in-chief of Seton Hall University’s undergraduate newspaper, The Setonian. 

Soorin Kim is an investigative data reporter focusing on money in politics and political investigations. She has covered a wide range of stories, from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the 2016 presidential election, the Ukraine scandal that led to former President Donald Trump’s first impeachment proceedings and election security during the 2020 and 2022 elections to non-political stories like the Surfside building collapse, mass shootings and how the coronavirus impacted different communities across the country. Prior to joining ABC News, Soorin was a local government reporter for the Columbia Missourian and a reporting intern at OpenSecrets.org. 

Will McDuffie is a digital news associate with the New York desk, where he covers breaking news. Will began at ABC as a member of the politics desk and reported on Florida in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election. During the 2022 midterm election, Will covered Pennsylvania as a campaign producer/reporter. Previously, Will was a corps member at Teach for America and taught third grade at elementary schools in Minneapolis and Brooklyn. 

Kendall Ross is a production associate with “World News Tonight with David Muir.” They started as an intern with the Race & Culture unit in Washington, D.C., in 2022 before becoming a desk assistant with the unit later that year. Kendall has worked on several projects centered around the liberation and celebration of marginalized peoples, including those in the Black and queer communities, such as “A ‘GMA’ Digital Conversation: Breaking the Mental Health Stigma for Black Women.” 

Kelsey Walsh is a New York-based associate producer with special events contributing to all of ABC News’ breaking news coverage as well as the planning and producing of all major news events. During her tenure, she assisted with midterm election night 2022, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Supreme Court overturn of Roe v. Wade, the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, and Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral. Prior to joining special events, Kelsey was a member of the politics desk and reported on North Carolina in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election. She also served as a Washington bureau desk assistant.

Kiara Brantley-Jones is a segment producer at ABC News Live. Previously, she worked on the Race & Culture unit, writing digital stories and assisting with the production of segments for the “Soul of a Nation” series. Prior to joining ABC News, she was a Washington, D.C.-based news associate with CNN. 

Julia Cherner is a segment producer for “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” where she produces newsmaker interviews, writes and cuts tape packages and pitches stories. She previously served as an associate producer for “This Week” and a desk assistant for the Washington, D.C., bureau. She has also worked on network-wide special events, including election night coverage of the 2022 midterms, President Biden’s inauguration, and the 2020 election. She began her broadcast career as a summer intern for “NBC Nightly News” in New York and, later, for the CBS News political unit in D.C. 

Isabella Murray works with the digital team as part of ABC News’ Washington, D.C., assignment desk. She’s reported out of Congress, covered the White House, chronicled the twists and turns of the DNC’s early primary calendar shakeup, and produced pieces for “World News Tonight” and “Good Morning America.” She has also worked with the political unit in reporting on the 2022 midterm election. Prior to ABC News, Isabella worked for Iowa Starting Line, embedded in the pivotal Hawkeye State ahead of the 2020 presidential election, and later wrote for the Biloxi Sun Herald. 

Olivia Osteen is an associate producer for “20/20,” based in New York. She has been part of the Uvalde: 365 team, covering the aftermath of the tragic shooting at Robb Elementary on the ground in Uvalde, Texas. She has also worked on the “20/20” special on the University of Idaho murders. Olivia began her journalism career at ABC News following graduation. 

Laura Romero is a production assistant with the investigative unit. She has covered a number of political and non-political stories, including former President Donald Trump’s first impeachment proceedings, the COVID-19 pandemic, organized retail theft, and threats to election officials during the 2022 midterm elections. Laura has also reported on breaking news stories, including a number of mass shootings in the U.S. and the building collapse in Surfside, Florida. She joined ABC News as an intern in 2019.

2020 Book List

It has been ages since I have written and, like everyone else, there seems to be a bit more unstructured time in my everyday life. It makes perfect sense the impetus for a return to blogging is books, reading is fundamental! 

My friend, KDaddy, annually shares the list of books he’s read. The first time I noticed his list I was thrilled, took notes, commented on how happy I was, and proceeded to read many of his recommendations. When it became clear 2020 was going to be a little different books became an even bigger part of my days as well as an escape from the grind of the news and the pandemic.

When KDaddy tagged me with his book list this year, it occurred to me I have a little platform where I can post my own year in review. Books are the best and reading has served me well my whole life, 2020 was no exception.

First, a few facts. This year I read 35 books, for comparison I read 24 in 2019. That makes me happy especially since there are not a million things about 2020 to invoke a sense of accomplishment. I have long kept a book journal since my title and author memory is similar to a sieve. At the start of the pandemic everyone in my house was gifted a kindle, I was not a fan of the plan, paper books are my love language. As this time has worn on, the kindle has proven to be a brilliant and magical purchase. Libby is a completely modern wonder and the next time I am in NYC I will, for sure, treat myself to a library card from that library system.

Definitely Read:

The Nightingale: A Novel by Kristin Hannah

Two sisters reacted to the unfolding atrocities of WWII in very different ways. Both were fierce, suffered in ways unimaginable to most of us, and illustrated the many ways women are impacted by a war. Such a powerful read.

The Home for Unwanted Girls by Joanna Goodman

Great read based on a true story about a teenager who became pregnant. Her family forced her to give up her baby and it was placed in a mental institution for the sole reason the child was an “orphan”. Many more plot twists follow, this was a gem of a book.  

Women in Sunlight: A Novel by Frances Mayes

This book kicked off as total cliche and morphed into complete life goals. Three older women, all single for a variety of reasons, strike up a friendship and move to a Tuscan Villa. I want to be them someday in Italy living with the locals.

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer

YA This came highly recommended from my youngest. It opened his eyes to the world in a huge way and he was very committed to sharing this story with all of us. William is a complete force of nature and against (truly) all odds changes the trajectory or his family, his village, and his life with ingenuity and desire. Love this book so much.

Little Fire’s Everywhere: A Novel by Celeste Ng

Heard so much about this book and completely loved it all. So. Many. Plot. Twists.

Dear Martin by Nic Stone

YA read from my kid, a MUST read. This book was chilling on a 1,000 different levels. Race, police profiling, education, culture- Nic Stone packed it all in and it opened my heart and sparked some good conversations in our home.

Girl, Woman, Other: A Novel by Bernardine Evaristo

This thoughtfully constructed book was a gift from another reader friend and is one of my favorite reads of the year. It shares multiple first person layered viewpoints from British women who span every part of society. Great read.

Dutch House by Ann Patchett

Let’s be clear, I love Ann Patchett. Love. Whenever she authors a new novel I am jazzed and the Dutch House is no exception. The house becomes an actual character in the story and has everything to do with the brokenness of family who moves into it.

Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike by Phil Knight

Unpopular opinion, I am not a fan of Nike. I am a tremendous fan of Phil Knight’s innovation and hustle. Phil is a visionary and expert storyteller.

The Tatowist of Auschwitz: A Novel by Heather Morris

The novel is based on interviews with Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew who used his position of relative privilege to positively impact the lives of as many fellow prisoners as possible. I had to read this book fast since it impacted my sleep, which it should. Incredible read.

American Dirt: A Novel by Jeanine Cummins

Ooofff, this book is hard to read. I started and stopped because I could not sleep and opted to read it during daylight hours only. It is seriously terrifying in a million ways. It is about a family who has to flee from Alcopulcio to the United States due to extreme violence from the local and very well connected drug cartel. This book is a testament to the grit of illegal immigrants and an eye opening read about the terror they face.

Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson

True story of Bryan Stevenson’s quest to navigate the criminal justice system in the rural south where he aims to help the most disadvantaged in the system. Timely, eye opening, and full of action items we all need to help with for the betterment of our society.

City of Girls: A Novel by Elizabeth Gilbert

Books by Elizabeth Gilbert are some of my favorites and I was concerned when I started this book, it was a struggle. It came together and I ended up loving it. A story about NYC in the 1940’s centered around a girl/woman who is sent to live with her aunt at her playhouse full of showgirls. It was such an unrelatable read, it transported me to a time I have never really considered and it was a trip worth taking.

Totally Enjoyable:

True Colors by Kristen Hannah

Reads like YA fiction and I loved it. It’s about a ranch family, their horses, land, siblings, their live father and deceased mother. It is not deep and is a fun read.

In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware

This book was intense, fun, & slightly scary. A “hen party” in a, literal glass house, becomes the scene of a murder.

The Queen of Hearts by Kimmery Martin

This is a fun read about two best friends who become doctors together and then the plot thickens. Can’t say more, it is complicated.

Freud’s Mistress by Karen Mack

This was my last library loan before the pandemic. It is a fascinating read based loosely on the dynamics of Freud’s family, drugs, affairs that feel a bit like incest, a huge male ego, this should not sound familiar in any way!

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

YA, loaner from my kid (which came to my nightstand highly recommended). This is a sweet, sweet love story of two teenagers who have very different backgrounds and lots of big feelings. The whole book takes place over the course of one day.

It All Comes Back to You by Beth Duke

This was a surprise hit and it sucked me in. The story is about a nurse in a retirement community who befriends a resident who lived a big life.

The Queen’s Fortune: A Novel of Desiree, Napoleon, and the Dynasty That Outlasted the Empire by Allison Pataki

I admit, I am a fan of royalty, it is so intriguing and this book was completely spellbinding. The story is based on Napoleon's France and it was messy.

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

NF This book is amazing. A poor black woman has cancer cells removed from her body, these rapidly reproducing cells become known as HeLa cells and change the trajectory of modern medicine. There are so many consequences from this seemiling small discovery and the impact to the medical world and to Henrietta’s family are far reaching.

The Woman in the Window: A Novel by A.J. Finn

Read this in one day at the beach, I was sucked into this story of Anna Fox and her salacious neighborhood drama.

The Last Romantics by Tara Conklin

I know I liked this book and made a note about the “pause” taken over the summer when the kids in the family basically ran wild. That’s all I’ve got.

Untamed by Glennon Doyle

There was a ton of hype around this book and it is well deserved. Glennon tells it like it is and, like it or not, she has a lot of points that hit. I read this on my kindle and think I would have liked reading the physical book more.

This is the Story of a Happy Marriage by Ann Patchett

Short stories from Ann Patchett? Yes, 100% yes. The story of her relationship with Lucy, of Truth and Beauty: A Friendship, was wonderful as was the explanation of her book store in Nashville.

After You: A Novel (Me Before You Trilogy) by Jojo Moyes

I have zero idea that Me Before You was a trilogy! It is a total candy read, you are not going to learn much about your soul or the universe, but it is fun and better than TV. And yes, I will read the third book in the trilogy because candy is good! 

The Saturday Night Supper Club by Carla Laureano

Also a trilogy, another happy surprise. This book is fun, another candy read, and so appealing. When I was a kid I wanted to have a restaurant so this story made my heart happy. It is a bit too clean, a bit cliche, and an enjoyable read.

Daisy Jones & The Six: A Novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid

This novel will transport you to a land of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. I read this was loosely based on the story of Fleetwood Mac, true or false, this book captures a moment in history and reads a lot like a play and is completely enjoyable.

Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng

This is the book written before Little Fires Everywhere, similar deal-  family strife/mystery, kind of riveting with lots of twists. Solid read.

Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: A Therapist, HER Therapist, and Our Lives Revealed by Lori Gottlieb

NF, look at a therapist who finds herself in need of therapy. It is kind of a russian doll type of read with layers, upon layers, hidden within each other.

With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo

YA, another loaner from my kid. Such a great book about a kid who wants to be a chef and express herself through her cooking. She is a teen mother living with her abuela, it is a heartwarming book and I love the main character’s spirit.

Sidenote: schools around here are closed for the duration yet students can reserve library books and go to the local library of your choice where their school librarians greet them, warmly, in the parking lot for a drive by pick-up. It is a wonderful and much appreciated service being offered to our kids.

Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty

This book is ridiculous, it had a strong start, went sideways but was fun and overall enjoyable. The premise is nine people descend upon an exclusive health retreat. The woman who is in change morphs from motivating to overlord, obviously.

No Thank You:

13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher

YA read, loaner from my daughter. I did not like this one bit, it made sucide seem so glam. Glad I read it and am always happy when my kids share books with me and I will always hate stories of kids’ suffering.

There There: A Novel by Tommy Orange

This book was hard to follow, had too many characters, and there was a very dark thread that I did not enjoy.

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

This book hit me at the wrong time this year. The dystopian nature felt a little too close to home. I know it is a work for the ages but it was all ouch.

Wow, that felt good to reflect on and process. I have never really looked for threads in my own reading and knew a few things already but like seeing the balance of candy books and hard, timely topics. All in all I feel great about my 2020 reading list and hope there are titles that interest or resonate with you too. Here is to libraries reopening someday in the near future so we can browse the shelves with abandon.

Doti, adoramos a sua ficha como Sirius Black, principalmente a forma em como trouxera certos aspectos na vida do personagem e a maneira que se encaixam na plot, confessamos que ficamos muito emocionadas com a maneira que abordou o carinho e gratidão que ele sente pelos Potters, estamos ansiosas para ver o seu crescimento. Aliás, esperamos um grande sucesso para a carreira musical do sr. Black, sabemos que ele já possui uma grande base de fãs.

Su, adoramos a sua ficha como Remus Lupin, adoramos a maneira como trouxe a licantropia para a plot do rp, afinal esse é um delicado muito forte e presente na vida do personagem e estamos torcendo para que seus planos para o personagem se concretizem. Lumes, adoramos sua ficha como James Potter, adoramos a maneira como o personagem lida com sua posição financeira em relação a diferença que observa dentro da escola e como amadureceu durante todos esses anos. Rafa, adoramos sua ficha como Olimpia Clancy, adoramos a pureza que a personagem possui mesmo com todas as condições adversas com que foi criada, esperamos que ela aprenda aceitar as formas de carinho que a vida lhe proporciona e que existem pessoas que podem ser confiadas. Aliás, esperamos que a srta. Clancy continue com o bom trabalho de líbero e nos ganhe mais alguns troféus para aumentar nossa coleção.

Nana, adorei sua ficha como Lily Evans, adorei a maneira com que abordou os conflitos com Petunia e o que Hogwarts significava para ruiva, principalmente adorei o fato de ter mostrado como Snape afetou sua confiança e trabalhou em sua determinação, estou ansiosa para ver como irá abordar os defeitos apresentados da ruiva e como ela lidará quando perceber que o mundo não está em seu controle. Aliás, esperamos que a srta. Evans mantenha o mesmo desempenho impecável que vem demonstrando nesses anos, a escola aprecia e precisa de estudantes tão dedicados e prontos para o sucesso.

Mah, vamos descansar as mãos um pouco, e aproveitar a boa notícia que Mary Macdonalds estará andando por esses corredores em breve. Mary sabemos que sua jornada não é fácil, e que é uma das que trabalha mais duro por aqui. Seu trabalho sempre será reconhecido, e seus amigos irão acolhe-la com toda a bondade e sinceridade em seus corações. Permita-se aceitar toda essa ternura quem sabe não acaba aprendendo mais algumas coisas? A vida é feita não somente de trabalho, mas de aproveitar esses momentos e aproveitar cada dia como se fosse o último já que nunca sabemos o dia de amanhã.

Yas, como começar a explicar Emmeline Vance? (Insira aqui a cena de Mean Girls sobre Regina George) Nossa Regina George que não possuí nada de Regina, e sim tem um coração de ouro não poderia nos trazer mais orgulho. Afinal, quem ganhará o próximo Tony e trará orgulho para esse castelo? Sem contar suas habilidades incríveis em sempre ajudar os outros. Sabemos que as coisas não andam as melhores dentro dessa cabecinha, mas esperamos que com seu ingresso as coisas comecem a decolar, e que brilhe mais qualquer constelação que já pisou nesse colégio.

Ma, o que temos por aqui? Se não mais uma violeta no jardim? Violet Sunclair será um presente para todos os alunos de Hogwarts. Mesmo tendo um coração calmo, temos a certeza que muitas surpresas se escondem por detrás do coração da menina, e que muito ela irá agregar para o colégio. Afinal, é nos frascos menores e escondidos que se encontram os melhores perfumes. Os melhores enigmas sempre dão trabalho para serem revelados. Será que conseguiremos revelar quem Violet é por trás de toda sua timidez? Estaremos esperando ansiosos para que esse dia chegue.

Nana, adorei sua ficha como Hestia Jones, o que dizer da nossa querida personagem com um gênio do cão porém um grande coração, mal conheço e considero pacas, realmente espero que a moça melhore suas relações com pessoas e que qualquer coisa que o futuro aguarde para sua mãe, que seja o melhor. Aliás, esperamos que a srta. Jones continue com os treinos internos porém, infelizmente, não podemos fazer nada em relação aumento de verbas para o time no momento.

Slytherin

Lales, meus parabéns pela sua ficha do Regulus Black, sabemos o quanto pode ser difícil trabalhar com nossa pequena estrelinha, mas Regulus ainda é muito imaturo, por mais que ele seja a pessoa mais responsável, ele ainda vai crescer muito e descobrir tanta coisa. Espero que o Hogwarts East High, o possa fazê-lo enxergar que o mundo é bem maior do que ele pensa, e que em muitas vezes está tudo bem correr riscos. Ele não precisa ficar dentro de sua clausula para sempre, mas tudo a seu tempo.

Lana Banana, por favor, tape imediatamente a boca de sua cria Genevieve Louise Elizabeth Avilla de York. Pode avisá-la para ficar quieta, pois ela está aceita na Slytherin, e se ela falar mais alguma vez que será a próxima rainha, não poderei controlar os meus atos. Todos sabemos que ela não possuí chance alguma, então para que tudo isso? Exatamente, NADA. Essa menina só irá causar mais dor de cabeça, mas como ela estudar aqui foi uma ordem real, como a mesma gosta de espalhar pelos corredores, não há nada que nós meros mortais somos capazes de fazer, certo? Só espero que todos comprem seus tampões, pois infelizmente sangue azul é o mais difícil de matar.

Brubs, temos a obrigação de aceitar um nome tão prestigioso quanto Niklaus Mulciber entre nossos alunos. Somente o nome já consegue demonstrar o quão grandioso nosso Mulciber pode ser, e entre as milhares de decisões que ele terá que tomar daqui para frente nem tudo serão flores. Sabemos que o moço anda com pensamentos bastante conflituosos, e nós desejamos que eles sejam resolvidos da melhor maneira possível, afinal ele ainda é só um garoto que está reproduzindo o que sempre ouviu, mas ainda há tempo e oportunidades para que Niklaus Mulciber mostre para o quê veio, e estaremos observando cada passo que o mesmo dará em direção a seu futuro.

Yasmine, adoramos sua ficha para Theodor LaFont, os cosmos estão completamente alinhados para o seu sucesso dentro da escola, estamos ansiosa para ver como será suas aulas e como os alunos irão reagir a ela. Aliás, queremos nos desculpar o Professor LaFont mas estamos fazendo o possível para criar um cardápio vegetariano e esperamos que suas aulas continuem com a mesma excelência.

Lana Banana, adoramos sua ficha para Molly Prewett, e que mulher é e se tornará a sua personagem, não é mesmo? Estamos ansiosas para ver como ela lidar com o que o futuro a aguarda, apesar que no final sabemos que será de uma maneira maravilhosa. Aliás, espermos que a srta. Prewett continue com o bom trabalho e que suas notas na faculdade mantenham-se.

Yasmine, é com um sorriso no rosto imenso que colocamos a Narcissa entre hall dos estagiários do mês. Sem dúvidas, a mais nova das Black está em uma fase completamente difícil, um noivado a caminho, as irmãs na orelha, e todas as decisões que precisa tomar. Sem contar que mesmo formada ainda parece que está no colegial. Não se preocupe, logo as coisas vão começar a melhorar. Temos certeza disso. No tempo certo todas as flores desabrocham e nós sempre soubemos que você é a única flor em meio a tanta constelação, então não se apresse, as flores que mais demoram a desabrochar são as mais fazem as pessoas esperar, pois são as que mais valem a pena.

Seu nome é Azriel McLaggen, possui vinte anos está cursando Astronomia e é do quarto período. É da elite, pertence ao grupo de futebol, luta e natação. É frequentemente confundido com KJ Apa e atualmente está sendo interpretada por LALES.

CONHEÇA SUA HISTÓRIA;

Cassian e Sabrina McLaggen se conheceram por conta da profissão em comum, quando ambos ainda moravam nos Estados Unidos e trabalhavam como engenheiros de petróleo por lá. O fato de passarem muito tempo um com o outro discutindo sobre coisas importantes do trabalho e até mesmo coisas bobas da vida fez com que eles se aproximassem e o resultado daquilo foi um casamento apressado antes que ambos fossem transferidos para outro país. O acordo era que não importava para onde Cassian fosse transferido, Sabrina seria junto com ele para que pudessem manter o casamento, não importavam se tivessem que recusar propostas porque envolviam apenas um deles.

Os McLaggen estavam vivendo na Dinamarca quando Astra nasceu, a primeira filha do casal. Pela primeira e única vez, a família permaneceu no país por dois anos, dando espaço assim para o nascimento de Azriel. E só depois de alguns meses seguiram para o próximo destino. Com os dois filhos, Sabrina abandonou o trabalho para ficar em casa cuidando deles, enquanto continuava mudando de cidade ou país ao lado de Cassian e tinha que lidar com o fato do marido ficar quinze dias no mar e quinze dias na terra. Mas isso apenas durou até os pequenos chegassem a idade escolar. Assim que completaram a idade certa, Sabrina que já não aguentava mais lidar com o fato de ser dona de casa e já sentia falta do trabalho, tomou a decisão de colocar os filhos em um colégio interno para que assim pudesse voltar ao trabalho junto de Cassian.

Azriel já estava acostumado com as constantes mudanças e agora havia acrescentado um fator de que não importava o quanto gostasse da escola ou de seus colegas, no ano seguinte ele não estaria ali mais. E nas férias e feriados era mandado para casa de seus avós em Londres. Sua mãe havia se afastado um pouco da família porque Cassian nunca gostou de seu cunhado, fazendo com que se afastasse dos McCoy e Sabrina não podendo ajudar o irmão que passava necessidade.

As mudanças só pararam quando o garoto começou a faculdade, Az escolheu o curso de astronomia e teve a chance de escolher qualquer lugar do mundo para estudar. Depois de tantas experiências, ele decidiu se fixar no único lugar que ele havia ficado muito tempo, ainda que em anos diferentes. Ficar perto dos avós parecia uma boa coisa a se fazer, então ele se mudou para Londres iniciando o curso na UCL. Mas no seu segundo ano quando Hogwarts Institute passou a ter faculdade, seu pai, ex-aluno do colégio, ficou sabendo da novidade e achou que seria ótimo que o filho tivesse a oportunidade de estudar no mesmo lugar que ele. O dinamarquês aceitou a proposta do pai e pediu transferência, mesmo sabendo que Astra nunca aprovou todas as vezes em que Az mudou de opinião ou decisão para seguir os passos ou a vontade do pai.

PERSONALIDADE;

Azriel pode ser 8 ou 80, em algumas situações é extremamente maduro e responsável, mas deixa a desejar em outras. Maleável em relação ao pai, sempre volta atrás em suas decisões se aquilo não agrada o patriarca da família. Destemido e corajoso, não vê problema em enfrentar uma briga para proteger seus amigos e familiares. Competitivo, quando o assunto é o futebol, odiando com todas as forças perder, mesmo que seja em uma brincadeira. Os anos de mudanças fizeram com que ele se tornasse alguém desapegado e que em sua visão as coisas se tornam entediantes rapidamente, mesmo que faça amigos, sempre tem em mente que uma hora pode se cansar de ficar no mesmo local por muito tempo e acabar querendo se mudar mais uma vez. E é por isso que raramente se envolve em relacionamentos amorosos.

UM POUCO MAIS;

Esporte sempre foi o ponto fraco de Azriel, desde pequeno estava envolvido com atividades extras das escolas, sempre arrumava um jeito de ser escalado pro time de futebol, em Hogwarts não foi diferente. Apesar de não ser uma pessoa agressiva, boxe foi uma forma que ele encontrou de relaxar, socar algo faz com que ele sinta alívio e que entre quase num universo paralelo, que o faz esquecer de todos os problemas e confusões familiares. Já a natação, foi algo completamente novo na vida dele. Apenas se inscreveu por falta de opção, mas acabou gostando bastante e entrou na lista de coisas que ele mais gosta de fazer.

Desde criança Azriel era fissurado pelo céu noturno, passava horas o admirando. Fazendo com que as vezes quebrasse as regras dos internados onde estudava, porque não dormia no horário estipulado. Ficava na sua cama que sempre era escolhida perto da janela e observava a lua e as estrelas por horas. Foi assim que quando precisou decidir qual curso seguir na faculdade, não escolheu o de seus pais e sim a sua paixão por astronomia.

Az possui uma ótima relação com sua irmã Astra, apesar de todas as discussões por ele ser extremamente maleável em relação ao seu pai. Sabe que a irmã só veio trabalhar em Hogwarts Institute por sua causa, uma maneira de se manter próxima e tentar moldar o irmão para que ele passe a tomar as próprias decisões.

Hogwarts trouxe para o dinamarquês algumas amizades, apesar de ser considerado da Elite, ele sequer se importa com isso e não acha que isso o torna superior a ninguém, por isso fez amizade muito fácil, não só por isso, mas também por todos esses anos de mudanças que fizeram com que ele se tornasse alguém extremamente sociável. Foi por isso que rapidamente se aproximou de Jake Blackwood, seu colega de quarto. Também se aproximou de Gwenog Jones, que mesmo com a diferença de idade, se tornou uma espécie de conselheiro para ela, dentro do possível.

Apesar de ser alguém que não costuma se envolver em confusões e brigas, Azriel acabou tomando as dores da família de sua ex-namorada Anita Calderon e após ouvir todas as confusões e problemas com a família Blackthorn, confusões que nem ele entendia. Antes de se transferir para Hogwarts foi avisado que encontraria com membros da família Blackthorn, sendo alguém destemido, Az não tem medo de provocar Samantha e Zara, sempre fazendo elas lembrarem que ele sabe demais sobre os negócios da família.

Pouco mais de um ano, Az resolveu experimentar um estilo de vida diferente e decidiu se tornar vegetariano. Como se deu muito bem e logo se acostumou com a dieta diferenciada, vez ou outra ele pensa em dar mais um passo nessa jornada e se tornar vegano, mas ainda acha complicado demais.

Az nunca curtiu tocar instrumentos, mas é um grande admirador de quem possui habilidades para isso, por conta disso, sua banda favorita é Twenty One Pilots.

2019國際區塊鏈+物聯網創新論壇 高雄落幕

因看好高雄未來數位經濟與智慧城市發展潛力，臺灣物聯網協會於高雄舉辦首屆「二○一九國際（高雄）區塊鏈+物聯網數字經濟創新論壇」，會中聚焦共鏈技術、農業發展、人工智慧等領域數位經濟合作項目，將物聯網與區塊鏈等國際創新應用技術案例引入高雄（見左圖，臺灣物聯網協會提供）。

論壇開場在副市長葉匡時見證下，首先進行台灣物聯網協會與其會員進駐儀式，由高雄市經濟發展局代表與台灣物聯網協會理事長梁賓先進行簽約儀式，接著由高雄市立圖書館、陽光智慧科技與台灣物聯網協會簽立高雄市立圖書館-物聯網無線充電示範項目，正式啟動第一項高雄智慧應用服務合作計畫，將為市民與旅客帶來更智慧、方便的數位生活。

會中，臺灣物聯網協會理事長梁賓先發表「城市數位經濟創新應用」演講，分享高雄市商圈、農漁業平台數位經濟在高雄的創新應用。ISO/IEC物聯網與區塊鏈研究組主席、中加物聯網與區塊鏈產業發展研究院首席科學家沈杰博士發表「共鏈技術︱重塑區塊鏈價值」演講，分享共鏈技術如何推動區塊鏈價值。

本次大會包括共鏈生態聯合會秘書長劉燕青、SKChain歐洲研究院院長鄭立榮教授、六域鏈科技董事長潘劭齊、華苓科技技術長楊基載、江蘇恒為資訊科技總經理張何東、VRTLTD創始人Michael Jone、Black Chain Games首席代表與888COINEX CPO鄭焱澤，分享最新區塊鏈與物聯網實際應用��例，論壇中並安排包含六域鏈科技與創耀行銷企劃、Co-Chain與Lale-Chain等共鏈合作簽約儀式，啟動共鏈合作專案。

RAVENCLAW

Fran, dentre os sorriso mais tímidos podemos encontrar Megara Shafiq, a garra da aluna corvina sempre nos deixa impressionado. Não há muito o que se reclamar, e seu histórico é impecável. O problema, assim como outros alunos, é que não só de históricos é feita a seleção para as universidades. Queremos dar chances completas a todos os alunos para conseguirem a tão famosa vaga em uma boa Universidade, então esse semestre iremos jogar uma bola de construção em todos os muros que construiu em torno de si.

Lales, nada escapa dos olhos curiosos de Minah Choe, sem dúvidas uma das alunas mais interessada em tudo que o colégio tem a oferecer. Não há alguém que se dedica a entender como as coisas funcionam e como pode colaborar para seu crescimento pessoal. Temos uma honra em ter uma estudante tão dedicada não somente em nosso colégio, mas em nosso país. Esperemos que nunca perca esse brilho e interesse.

Ari, assim como muitas pessoas conseguem se encontrar somente na idade adulta quando se tornam maduras, Priya Patil, nos mostrou que garotas conseguem se tornar forte antes mesmo de completarem a maior idade. Priya, sem dúvidas foi mudando junto conosco, e estamos felizes que o colégio seja um ambiente onde a garota pode tomar todas suas decisões. Nos surpreende muito a facilidade da garota com os números, e estamos ansiosos em vê-la nas mais diversas olimpíadas durante o ano.

GRYFFINDOR

Lana, mesmo em nossas reuniões Jeanine Arthos não perde a oportunidade de nos contar sobre tudo que anda lendo e suas novas descobertas no mundo geek. Sempre a deixamos falar, pois desse modo podemos ver que aquela é a personalidade da aluna. Sempre é bem elogiada por suas maneiras, e pela forma que lida com seus problemas. Não dando muito trabalho nem para nós, nem para os professores. Jean sem dúvidas será o tipo de aluna que passará sem dúvidas em uma boa universidade, pelo menos, isso é o que esperamos da garota.

Andie, ao analisarmos Katherine Jones como uma dançarina esperávamos um tipo de comportamento que com o tempo vimos ser o completo oposto. As explosões da garota nos deixaram bastante impressionados, mas sua garra e paixão pela dança sem dúvida nos deixa estupefatos.  Esperamos que a garota encontre um meio entre os dois para continuar esse ano. Onde possa acalmar seus nervos, e se arriscar cada vez mais na dança.

Yasmine, é muito difícil fazer uma boa analise de Sandy Marchiori, a garota dificilmente se abre para nós. Ao não desgrudar de seu computar e estar sempre encarando a todos e julgando suas ações, porém nem mesmo as expressa. Guardar tanta coisa para si tende a ser um problema. O mundo é mais do que a tela de seu computador e suas músicas e faremos o possível para conseguir fazer com que se abra mais conosco.

Brubs, há várias maneiras de se poder ter uma noção de Ruby Rose Chapman, poderíamos comentar sobre nossas reuniões com a garota, mas sem dúvida o meio mais efetivo é pela sua escrita. A maneira como Ruby coloca todas as suas emoções no jornal do colégio nos mostra que é alguém completamente apaixonada pela escrita. Um futuro brilhante para alguém tão apaixonada pelo que está fazendo e que sem dúvidas no impressionada um pouco mais a cada dia.

HUFFLEPUFF

Nina, provavelmente não há aluna mais apaixonada que Georgina Brandshaw, e não dizemos isso de um modo ruim. Pelo contrário. Toda a paixão da garota pela vida, e pelo próprio sentimento que é o amor a torna uma pessoa singular. Se ao menos o mundo fosse feito de mais estudantes como Gee não teríamos guerras, ou fome. São personalidades como a garota que queremos formar. São pessoas como a garota que podemos acreditar que pode mudar o mundo. Um coração dócil é capaz de transformar o mais cruel dos mundos, e é isso que esperamos da garota.  

SLYTHERIN

Mel, há uma particularidade que distingue muito Millicient Mercier de seus colegas. A força de vontade da garota para demostrar sua capacidade nos deixa impressionados. Não querer ser uma sombra, e tudo que a menina luta para que aquilo seja possível nos deixa acreditar que todo mundo é mais do que seus pais. Por mais que alguns alunos aproveitem de seus cargos e profissões a aqueles que querem demonstrar com garra do que são capazes e sem dúvidas, Millie está entre eles. Somente grandes coisas podemos esperar da jovem Mercier.

FUNCIONÁRIOS

Mah, a figura de Rosmerta Darcy é quase um borrão para nós. É quase impossível vê-la parada no mesmo lugar por muito tempo. Mesmo sendo uma estagiária de administração a garota sempre está correndo pelo local com papéis, e ajudando aos outros funcionários, e quando não está dentro do prédio está na região trabalhando. É um bom exemplo do que trabalho duro e dedicação pode trazer para nossos alunos e é uma honra tê-la entre nós.

Mel, sem dúvidas a bibliotecária mais animada é Chloe Winters geralmente se há um preconceito com bibliotecários, mas o de Hogwarts East High possuem um brilho. Ainda assim sempre temos algo suspeito em Chloe, não sabemos exatamente o que é, mas temos a impressão que ela nos esconde algo. Durante as entrevistas ou conversas a mulher sempre age como se estivesse fazendo algo errado, mas nunca podemos descobrir o que é, então acreditamos que seja somente mais alguma coisa de nossa cabeça. De todo modo preferimos manter os olhos abertos com a mesma.

Mel, muitas vezes achamos que Sean Addams não irá se adaptar ao ambiente da Hogwats East High, sabemos que é um professor inestimável, mas por ser tão fechado e quase não se relacionar direito com outras pessoas no deixa com medo de que a qualquer oportunidade ele possa vir a nos deixar, mas ao mesmo tempo vimos que tudo que o homem faz é com gosto, e ele faz seu trabalho com a maior clareza possível. Esperamos que com o tempo o mesmo possa se soltar mais e integrar o corpo docente de uma maneira bastante natural para todos.

Akemi, a cada dia estamos mais orgulhosos em termos um corpo docente tão diversificado, e tão talentoso, Devesh Rajit Patil, pode ser uma grande promessa para o colégio mesmo agora sendo apenas um professor substituto sempre é bom termos peças novas para inovar um pouco o ar e temos alguém mais próximos dos alunos. Sem contar que para os núcleos universitários é ótimo para poder participar de pesquisas mais novas. Porém, temos que tomar cuidado com o mesmo, afinal, não queremos de forma alguma ofender nenhum dos hábitos do homem assim como esperamos que ele sempre sinta-se à vontade de recorrer a nós em qualquer problema.

Panda, para completar a dupla dinâmica de bibliotecários temos, Phellipe Marchiori, que é bastante diferente de sua outra colega. Percebemos em Phill alguém responsável e maduro ao mesmo tempo preocupado com seus colegas e com seu trabalho. Sem dúvidas uma dupla bastante interessante de se ver trabalhar. Sabemos que os alunos sempre podem contar com o mesmo ao fazerem suas pesquisas ou estarem procurando formas de distração o colégio tem muita honra em ter um funcionário tão dedicado como o homem.

Panda, entre os professores clássicos que são movidos a café e noites mal dormidas não é novidade alguma que Joffrey Manfred, se destaque entre os outros. Sempre arrumado, de bom humor, e pronto para dar uma ótima aula independente da situação. Sem dúvida nenhum aluno será capaz de dormir durante as aulas de literatura durante um bom tempo.
