So I finally decided to go and draw more of my Layton age swap au, so here you go

The first thing is just what I imagine Triton (Luke) and Locklair’s (Descole) first interaction to be like. Locklair gives a dramatic introduction for himself being all confident, and immediately Triton’s first reaction is “okay who’s child is this”. Locklair isn’t very fond of Triton

Next I drew a scene that’s been in my head for a while that I’m not sure I explained originally? Basically for context it’s been 4-6 years since Hershel was adopted by the Laytons, and for the most part his early childhood memories have been repressed, such as his parents and what happened to them. However, he does still have vague memories of having a brother, but they’re becoming incredibly faded, and were this the canon timeline, within a few years he’d forget them completely. But that hasn’t happened yet, so he still has them. But one big thing is that no matter how hard he tries, he can’t remember his brother’s name. He feels incredibly guilty about this, despite the actual reason being that it’s simply because he and his brother share the same name

Next I drew Emmy in this au, who at some point becomes part of the group, but I’m not sure when. Here she’s a teenager, around the same age as Desmond, though possibly a year or two older. In this continuity she’s still working for Targent, but at the same time she’s not very loyal to the group, other than her Uncle Leon and Aunt Rachel. See, some time after Leon and Rachel were abducted and forced to work for Targent, they had met Emmy, and seeing how she was all alone after her father died, and how she was around the same age as their son Hershel (Desmond) would be, they decided to take her in, basically becoming her surrogate parents. She also knows that they had two sons, Hershel and Theodore, though I haven’t decided whether or not she knows Hershel Layton is Theodore. If she does she’d told her aunt and uncle and is watching out for Hershel for them, and she acts like a big sister to him

Speaking of the Bronev parents, I’m not sure what to do with them. On one hand, I want them to reunite with their children and be happy. Rachel is still alive and while they’re both worse for wear, Leon isn’t exactly loyal to the group yet and hasn’t been corrupted by them, at least not to any significant degree. But in the other hand, I want Hershel to keep living happily with Roland and Lucille, and also for Desmond to be taken in by Flora, who acts as both a mentor and a guardian to him (I’ll elaborate on my next page since I have more ideas for this to draw)

Then finally, I wanted to draw Flora and Desmond, but I didn’t have enough room, so I just drew Flora in her working outfit. She builds robots like Bruno (though maybe not to his level just yet), and so she needs a much more practical outfit when doing so

But anyways, yeah, hope you enjoy, and this time I’ll try to spend more time on it and not leave it waiting in the dust for another several months (though I make no promises I am very haphazard)

Well, I made this first sketch of these two as bakers a year ago, but I still love how the drawing turned out

And it all started by making memes of a role... and since my main language is Spanish, all the memes are in Spanish. But don't worry, I'll translate for you :^)

And quick context, here the crossover is formed just when Randall and Layton's wedding was going to be (It's a Ranlay role xd) And Luke is trans, if you don't like any of this, no problem but please don't post negative comments Just go out and get on with your life.

Back on my bullshit with another swap au

Details below!

Layton gets the crown sometime after the experiment happens, he finds it on an expedition and puts it on out of curiosity. (I don't know what his title could be lmao) And like Simon, goes insane from wearing it.

But he's kind of like a mix of Ice King and Winter King (minus WK's selfish personality) more Ice King but British Gentleman in the mix is what I'm trying to go for with him.

Luke takes Marceline's place and gets found by Layton in the ruins of London. He is gifted a Teddy Bear. (I guess Clive could also be there too?) And is cared for until Layton can't stay in control and leaves in fear. He doesn't do the Princess thing like Ice King but he IS searching for Claire, and it's for closure more or less and everyone he finds and takes, none of them are her. But instead of setting them free, they stay in the Ice Kingdom like a massive prison. Mad ruler or scientist vibes or something??

He can't remember what she entirely looked having forgotten her face long ago. Meeting Flora for the first time in this messes him up for a moment. When he sees Luke again he can't even remember him, but knows they have a connection. He only recognizes Luke from the fact that he's popular with his puzzle-solving skills. Like "Remember You" Luke learns to accept this and forgives him for having to leave. He still calls him Professor and occasionally switches to Hershel. Which he has no memory of and assumes it's an odd nickname.

Clark isn't like Hudson but their relationship is much like how it is in Last Spectre. A misunderstanding rather than being evil and stealing souls.

Instead of what happens in canon, the time machine worked too well and sent her 1,000 years into the future. And doing what Betty does in trying to help him like how she tried to help Simon. Eventually becoming Golb in the end. Even after toying with the idea of accepting that Layton won't ever be back.

Flora is Finn in this and she grew up lonely. She had her robot family but she wanted to see the outside feel the ground on her hands and share her creations with others. She was allowed once she proved she could handle the outside when a monster had attacked the village. And she set out into the world and set up a shop for her robots. And loves to explore and go adventuring. Helping others making a certain Ice Wizard leave people alone and freeing those who got kidnapped. Flora meets Luke when she finds her apples are being drained of color. Picked from the trees and left on the ground. She caught him and he promptly apologized. They reached an agreement about it though and grew close. Siblings frfr. And Luke gives her advice when she needs it.

Layclaire week: Day 5 - AU

Roleswap AU of sorts! Dr. Claire Foley, a renowned scientist with a penchant for letting her curiosity lead her into the strangest mysteries along with her self-appointed apprentice Flora who craves adventure and excitement and her ward Luke, a naive yet kindhearted boy starting to come out of his shell.

but most notably... in her most recent adventure that’s apparently taken her through time - she’s stumbled upon a man who bears a striking resemblance to her late boyfriend, who died a decade ago in a freak accident at an archaeological dig...

So here’s this idea I had for a Layton age/role swap au, where Luke (or Mr. Triton) is the puzzle/mystery solver, while Layton (or Hershel) is his loyal apprentice

I think I first saw the idea for something like this by @teenytinyapprentice, who made a role swap au like this as well, which I thought was really interesting. Then I saw a few more interpretations of it online and thought I wanted to take a crack at it myself

Sort of taking their idea as well, Triton is an author who writes mystery novels, who’s stories are inspired by the mysteries he solves in real life. Hershel was a fan of his stories and after requesting his help solving a mystery in his hometown, he became his apprentice

Yeah okay that’s basically the same thing @teenytinyapprentice did, but I just wanted to expand on the idea in my own way I think

Speaking of which, I decided to add Flora to the group too! Triton helped her with a mystery as well and she decided to join the team as well, enjoying going on adventures with them. She’s around the same age as Triton (oh yeah btw Triton is around his mid 30s here, just like Layton in the original universe) though a few years older or younger, haven’t decided yet. She was still raised in a town of robots, and eventually she decided to start studying robotics herself, and is rather accomplished in that area

She and Luke are good friends, but they are never romantically involved. Some people may ask them about their relationship but they maintain that they’re just friends. Hershel might even (innocently) ask them if they’re dating at some point

Oh yeah, to clarify, in this au, character’s backstories are mostly the same as the original, minus the parts that involve the other characters, or in cases like Hershel, wouldn’t have happened yet at their age

I have a few more ideas (specifically stuff involving a certain theater major), but I’ll just leave them to myself for now as I develop them. For now, just have these three discussing puzzles. Hope you enjoy!
