I was doing a few designs for Squirrelstar and Leafpool when I came across one of my old drawings of them from years ago and I decided to remake it.

This is the new version with the updated designs

This is the first time I ever drew them back in 2019. I know the quaility is bad but I lost the original drawing and this was the only photo I took at the time.

Tragedy Sisters: Squilf's Hope

a homage to my favourite sisters in the series

not entirely satisfied with this comic as I don't feel I did the quote justice.. Maybe one day I'll remake this...

Funnily enough, I haven't even read Squirrelflight's Hope yet, so the way I've interpreted the quote into the comic is based almost entirely on my impression of the series up to OOTS

Leafpool (remake)

my least favorite wc discourse i’ve ever gotten into was when i said i didn’t like leafpool and got anon hate from a bunch of leafpool fans, so i went back into the books to collect quotes of her not being very nice. i was 9 pages into the doc before i realized i was, essentially, writing a leafpool callout post and started questioning what i was doing with my life.

Remake of a drawing from 7 years ago!

They used to do contests at the public library where I lived and I was super into warriors at the time. It was extremely difficult to figure out exactly what 11 year old me was going for but I think they’d be proud of how far we’ve come.

I’m really happy with this and even limiting myself to the palettes in the original I had a lot of fun- improvement is real! Keep practicing!!! I’m so proud of you!!!

So this was originally was going to be the normal fire scene, but then I started thinking about Ashes and Ashfur turned into Brambleclaw. I guess this also a remake of the art I made like a year ago.  I put her three kits she adopted from Leafpool in and I aged them up a bit so they’re around apprentice age. I’m pretty proud of the background. I might take it and use to create the normal fire scene later.

How come if the cats desc anywhere mentions "dark" colors they're always like evil or significantly more flawed than their light colored counterparts. Like, they're literally cats. Every tigerstar remake is a Dark Tabby Tom. Hollyleaf murdered someone. Ravenpaw was an asshole. Dustpaws only trait was asshole for a while. Crowfeather. Leafpool even had a dark pelt and was also a criminal. Brokenstar. Etcetera etcetera. It's like you can be: orange (hero), white (flawed but sympathetic), or blue (a bit weird but still cool). Or you can be brown or black, and therefore either evil a coward an asshole or a criminal.

Okay, it's definitely not a trend w every single cat from every single book, theres light pelted villains and such but it just hit me that they somehow pulled off cat colorism.

there is a disproportionate amount of "dark" colored villains, especially in the first four arcs i'll give you that but i'mma need you to pause for a second

in what world is ravenpaw an asshole

and hollyleaf killed ashfur but it's not like she's the only one to ever kill someone, i mean fuck, her literal brother LIONBLAZE killed russetfur AND harestar, ivypool killed antpelt, graystripe's killed three people

ashfur tried to kill hollyleaf and her family, including her grandfather in the past, and was planning on ruining their lives she had a rightful reason to kill him out of self preservation and the safety of her family

also "leafpool even had a dark pelt and was also a criminal" is such a sentence i had to stop reading the ask for a second, that's quite the reach dude you been doing yoga cause that was a long stretch, not to mention that on that logic, squirrelflight is also a criminal, silverstream is also a criminal, dovewing's a criminal, yellowfang's a criminal, gorsetail and beechfur are criminals, twigbranch is a criminal, literally anyone who has ever moved clans, left the clans, or fallen in love and had kits with someone outside of their clan, or any medicine cat that has had a mate and/or kits is a criminal

also i'm still not over the ravenpaw is an asshole thing like what did i miss something

heatherpaw(i dont remember her suffix but the one who hanged around lionblaze) is very active on roleplay sites and makes shipping tiktoks of other cats. she once made a crowfeather x leafpool one and crowfeather freaked out but that didnt stop heather (this was pre secret reveal)

I always thought that Ivypool got her fur pattern from Brightheart so I made their patterns similar. For before her injury, just draw everything without the scars, the design is symmetrical. 

I just kept adding stuff to his design to where I’m really proud of the outcome. the original idea was to make him fluffier and bigger, but i like this more

Sandstorm is not fluffy, CANCELED /j It was so hard to not add fluff, but it had to be done

herrrrrr. I kinda used Ash as a model since I didn’t know what to do. I like it.

It looks less bland then his old designs
