Group discussion
UN Volunteers-India team
Abhishek Khandelwal
(Conversation starter)
Suggest what measures we can take in students reading in 12th Commerce, not obeying school rules. Disturbing the classes.
Belong from business family.They say
Hame to business hi karna hai aage.
Misbehave with teachers.
Views:
▪️Mrs. Farhana Khan: At this age it’s really difficult to handle boys but still as a teacher you should do counselling, call his parents and explain his misbehaving, if no results found suspend him.
▪️Dr Balasubramanian: Can you please type complete mesage in english please, so that non- hindi speaking persons(like me) also get a exact picture and reply/ suggestion shall be the right one
1. Give counselling or send to counselling is the primary solution
2. Suspension won’t work, they like to repeat since they easily get a leave or legalise Schiol off, nowadays most paretns are working and they may get a full freedom to enjoy the time again and its a unwanted pressure again to paretns (some time parents get puzzled , how to leave him/ her alone in the day time and un-noticed again lead to more mistakes)
and teachers ,in the final month of the year.
When I used to give private classes, I noticed some kids suspended and stayed at home and they explained their stand , with zero % guilt , feel happy like permission to stay at home, they are not counting how they miss the classroom, since all lessons are getting by whatsup or by online . This even happened when I was a Studnet (of class 12 - in the year 1985-86, and many use to go private classes even in the school hours - this is an another topic)
We have to re-construct him or her.
Give him or her some responsibility in the class room or school activities, so that he feels responses and feels proud and happier, make
Him as a leader, give some topics to explain in a class or to make some PowerPoint of some topics ….
Children are very energetic and don’t have the road to spend, We have to make a road to exercise
Don’t keep waste as a waste and throw as a waste, instead make wealth from waste
It’s not easy and at the same time. Not hard too.
Find a good habit from that person, and exaggerate and make him feel proud, though it’s a small activity. No one in the world reject proud infront of others, few even can die for it
So discuss with all other subject teachers and may be be he smart in one subject or one activity and each teacher make it as a public news, For example say make Ramu, Say like I heard from sports teacher that ramu did very good in running and he was always talking about ramu and he is for for the next level and so so on and I also replied that he too smart in my class. All teachers slowly and steadily do , and he should not feel that it’s a master plan from the Teachers and all should do slowly and steadily and even call the Paretn and say today he did very good and very obedient so on ….
It’s an experiment and hope it’s works . I did when I worked in school.
Good luck and never disappoint or depress or corner more in the classroom, even if he not score well it’s ok and same time don’t make a feel that boy or girl is waste and useless .
I am believer in hindu astrology, some time even starts influence to do good or bad habits and good or bad even in learning’s.
We teachers and schools should give maximum dedication and to make a scar/stamp in their life, a few small steps might be a turning point
Never worry much about the score than making a good character and good conduct. And discipline
It’s speaks till death than the subject scores marks.
▪️Prof. Rajesh Fernando: May I humble get the attention of the dignitaries on board UN global educational team
If you deal with the person who did the mistake the person will go
If you deal with the mistake the mistake will go
We do not want the person to go
We need the mistake to go and person be empowered
Option A: Involve the boy for a responsible movement make him stand in front of the school and appreciate him
He might have 10 defects but identify they one good thing inside him appreciate him in public on that one good think and make him the leader for that one good things he will feel he want to be an example initial he will impress then he will express
That act of expression is transformation
Ajees sir has seen transformation happening among students live in my sessions but I’m unworthy to state in this elite group
If I’m wrong forgive me
If I’m on right path let use this as a tool to encourage some one
If we have transformed one we have Won
▪️Mrs. Anuradha Balachandran: Opinion A, (as a student) It is when my friend misbehaved that he was appreciated in the assembly. Should I also do the same?
▪️Dr Balasubramanian: When any Student doing a misbehaving attitude, never show in your body Langauge very immediately and don’t call his /her name from the chair, better make a pause and go to his seat and deal him/her or call after the class hour and invite to your desk and ask what is his challenges and what is his issue and what exactly his mental state .
If a teacher corners the student, may reverse and make it as a challenge to the classroom, which is highly unwanted. So move to his place and never raise the voice and handle with affection and softly. Anyway the advices are easier and only the teacher should plan as per the real situation. Technically it’s need extra care and extra touch.
▪️Mr. Johnson P J:
Handling Adolescent Discipline:
Some children are lavishly labeled as a trouble causers. No student can be written off. A good teacher will find out the diamond hidden in the in the charcoal. At least one teacher or staff will be there in an institution with whom a child will be able to relate. Transformation can start from there.
In the pastoral role of the teacher it should be possible for analyzing what is happening to such a branded trouble causer. There can be academic incompetence due to incompetent foundational literacy. An individualized crash program can save a child for life from this problem. The mentor teacher will have to observe whether the problem is from his emotional disturbances. Are there anything troubling him socially or from family. Is he not competent to control his growth urges or does he have any addiction which leads to general dislike for learning? Because of any of the above one might have set in one’s mind that ’ I cannot do it’. Various motivational techniques are to be used to mentor the student.
All students will have some few people in the school who is the driving force to brings the student to school. In a totally alien situation he would become a dropout. It is the failure of the system and not the student. Use these influential friends or a teacher who has better connection with the student , the bond is to be reinforced. A periodic home visit by a teacher and few friends together will be helpful to bring the student to the main stream.
In the school program there should be some field trips, visits and outings which expose our teenagers to the realities of life. Take students to Cancer hospitals, mental asylums, prisons and old age homes. Deliberate with such institutions to allow our students to serve there a day’s voluntary service with no rewards in return. Introduce SEVA or NSS programs and actively involve such students in it.
Never avoid sports periods. At least a period of sports must be given daily under the supervision of teachers. It is effective in channelising the surge of testosterone constructively.
Students will create problems. We must notice everything. But for everything one need not be punished. At times an unexpected forgiveness or an act of compassion will change a person forever. While handling any discipline issue of such students there should be checkers and balancers in the discipline team. If Principal proposes harsh steps there should be someone who pleads for a chance at his own personal responsibility. The student will not forget this consideration.
There is a turning point in every one’s life. Education should allow the formation of self. Some may need more time, some less.
▪️Prof. Rajesh Fernando:
Correction
We are appreciating for his mistake
Please note out of 10 misbehaviours if we identify ONE GOOD behaviour I said that can be appreciated
If we do not read then meaning get dilate
▪️Mrs. T Sujatha: I echo your thoughts sir... Let me share an incident in my professional life... Way back in 2013, I was working for a school of Liberal Education & since it was quite an expensive program, we mostly got students from affluent families who were pampered & spoiled brats. They had such an attitude that they never used to respect the teachers. At the end of the first year, each student had to undergo a program called *Social Connect* where each one of them were assigned to an NGO. These NGOs were for different purpose such as orphanage, destitutes, old age homes, blind school, environmental services, platform dwellers & so on. After joining these NGO, their entire perspective on life changed... that was the transformation, we were focussing... It made them more humble & more empathetic... Gone was the arrogant behaviour.
▪️Mr. Azeez: Some information and suggestions on how to deal with disruptive students in 12th Commerce.
Disruptive students can be a challenge for teachers and affect the learning environment of other students.
Measures:
1. Prevention is the best way to handle a disruptive student. Establish clear rules and expectations at the beginning of the year and enforce them consistently. Build rapport and trust with your students and show them respect and care. Use positive reinforcement and praise for good behavior.
2. If prevention is not enough, use effective de-escalation strategies to address the disruption in the moment. Stay calm and emotion-free, be firm and direct, listen carefully to the student’s concerns, and acknowledge their feelings. Do not yell or argue with the student, but rather educate them on how their behavior impacts others.
3. Use tangible and visual methods to help the student monitor their own behavior. For example, you can use sticky notes, tokens, or charts to show the student how many warnings they have received and what consequences they will face if they continue to disrupt.
4. Customize your methods to the individual student and try to understand the root cause of their behavior. Some students may need more movement, attention, or challenge in their learning. You can assign them different roles or tasks during group work, give them opportunities to take breaks or deliver messages, or provide them with more engaging and differentiated activities.
5. Speak to the student privately after the class and explain why their behavior was unacceptable and what they can do to improve. If the problem persists, contact their parents or guardians and seek their cooperation. You can also involve other teachers, counselors, or administrators for support and guidance.
6. Document the incidents of disruption and keep records of your interventions and communications. This can help you track the student’s progress, identify patterns or triggers, and provide evidence for further actions if needed.

Do I want to speak in english? Whenever I also try to write in English, there are always relapses to find as I am not proud to say that I never truly master the basic grammar. I am still learning and it's frustrating to think that I am still in the basics after many years of learning as if I didn't study or even live at all. Gaya ngayon, it's been awhile since I wrote something for myself.
Sadyang kailangan pang mahasa, paghandaan at pag-aralan.

THE 2019 YEAR END ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
https://youtu.be/L8VyAzDA5so
It was the end of a decade, but the start of an age.
So ayun po ano, welcome to my first ever vlog!
Accomplishments
Are we out of the woods yet?
Character Development
Looking back to my previous years, masasabi kong walang kwenta pa rin yung buhay ko hahahahaha charot.
I have a friend na nasa ganong sitwasyon ngayon and nakikita ko yung sarili ko sa kanya a year ago.
Toxic Trait
Last year naalala mo, na-diagnosed ako na may Hyperthyroidism.
Satisfaction
Naalala mo nung pinost ko nung taong 2016 ito: The Philosophy of Contentment. Walang taong nakukuntento. Lahat tayo may desires para ma-develop yung well-being natin.
Opo.
Self-actualization. Alam mo yung Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs?
Parang may kulang.
2 years after, wala na akong motivation. You mean goals? Eh ano to?
I started becoming the person I never wanted to be. May mga bagay akong nagawa at ginagawa beyond my moral values (playing with fire, dancing with a stranger). I become reckless. Ang sama na ng ugali ko na tipong when something inconvenient happens to her, ang masasabi ko lang, "Karma mo yan." Di ako to. Anong nangyari sayo Shaira?
I don't make plans. I am spontaneous. So ngayon, go with the flow na lang. Come what may. Kasi buti pa yung mga biglaang ganap nangyayari. Biglaang pagreresign, biglaang gastos. Ganun.
You made this on your own. We've come this far.
Eto ba yung tinatawag nilang existential crisis? So ano, dapat nga bang makuntento ako at maging masaya or wag makuntento and strive for more?
Lessons Learned
"We got distracted and caught up in unnecessary things sometimes and we forget that we are in a process and having things not working out is also a part of it."
I've learned that kung gusto mo magbago, don't wait for a specific time at moment, kasi lagi lang nauurong at nauurong yan. Gusto mo nga magbago pero you keep doing the same old shit, what's the sense? You can't expect new beginnings if you keep holding on to old habits. Sabi nga, "If you want something, go get it now. Right now is the start of the rest of your future."
You get what you tolerate. Biggest blessing ko this year is I got people who loved me even at my most unlovable chapter. Kita mo naman last year napaka-patapon ko. Pero na-redempt ko yung sarili ko and now I'm here where I belong, thanks to you 💕. Instead na magsorry eh they will make you feel bad pa about it. Magrereflect pala talaga sayo kapag positive yung impact ng isang tao. You'll glow differently.
- Having the right one will help you reach goals you never dreamed of achieving.
- Not everyone will enjoy watching you succeed.
- Some people are there for you but only for favors. The more capable you are, the more users you attract.
Strategic directions for 2020.
A whole new decade is starting. This is the decade that most of us are going to get married or have kids, etc. We're about to enter the very beginning of a whole new chunk of our lives.
Imagine how many people we will meet and how much we're going to mature and how many people we may lose and how much the world is going to change everything we think about daily, like career or love, it will be probably be settled by then.
Anong plano ko for next year? Again. WALA. Who knows? Again, as I said earlier, nothing excites me anymore.
But still here we are.
If ever this will be my last year, though lagi ko sinasabi na makakalimutan nyo rin naman ako/eto eventually, sana may maiwan akong magandang alaala.
"When a woman is loved the right way, she becomes the best version of herself." I'm happy that I ended this year with less pain than I had at the beginning of the year. I was lost but now I'm glad that I'm on the right path.
Thank you for staying with me this 2019.
Look how far we've come.
Let's make more memories ngayong 2020.
- Love, Shaira Mae ✨💕

Road to RPm: How to be a BLEPP Passer
Tumblr media
The Board Licensure Examination for Psychologists and Psychometricians (BLEPP) started in 2014. It’s safe to say that this is one of the relatively new national exams in the Philippines.
Through the years, only more or less half of the total number of takers are successful in passing the Psychometrician board exams. Here are the results:
2014 - 1,290 out of 3,283
2015 - 2,061 out of 4,466
2016- 3,690 out of 7,312
2017- 4,957 out of 8,701
2018 - 4,035 out of 8,453
I placed these numbers not to scare future takers. I just want everyone to have an idea on how tough the exam is. So you can get the picture, the board exam is not easy as it seems.
I passed BLEPP 2018. For someone who is in the helping profession, I would want to extend my knowledge and help fellow Psychology majors who would want to take the Psychometrician licensure exam.
Knowing that you are here, searching for tips on how you can attain your goal of being an RPm too says a lot about your determination. Keep that up and I’m pretty sure your name will be on the list of passers too!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs):
1. What are the subjects included in the Psychometrician Board Exam?
The Psychometrician board exam is composed of four (4) subjects namely, Psychological Assessment (40%), Theories of Personality (20%), Abnormal Psychology (20%), and Industrial Psychology (20%). However, there are news that additional subjects will be added in future examinations. This isn’t confirmed yet for BLEPP 2019 so you can calm down a bit. Just a bit.
2. What is the passing grade in order to become licensed?
You need to attain a general average of at least seventy-five percent (75%) for all subjects, with no grade lower than sixty percent (60%) in any of the subjects.
However, there is what we call a conditional passer. These are the examinees who attain an average of 75% but they have a grade lower than 60% in any of the four subjects. What's the catch? Conditional passers may retake the subject(s) within the next two years and they must obtain a grade of at least 75% in order to pass the licensure exam.
But of course, that’s not THE GOAL. Aim to completely pass all subjects and become a board passer. If you can, go the extra mile and even top the board exams!
If you have any questions, kindly send a Tumblr ask, I would gladly help you out if I know the answers.
MY TIPS ON HOW TO PASS THE PSYCHOMETRICIAN BOARD EXAM:
Disclaimer: These tips helped me a lot but it doesn’t mean that it will certainly work on you too. It will still depend on your personal preference and your learning style.
1. Have a study schedule and STICK TO IT.
Set a goal. Since there are four subjects, I allotted at least one month per subject. I started reviewing as early as June 2018 so I had ample time to review. By October 2018, I had around a month for a refresher and to reread.
I had daily and weekly goals to meet. This helped me a lot because I wasn’t only organized with my review but it helped me to feel accomplished once I see my progress on paper. It felt great to tick off topics on my to-do list. It was reassuring for me.
What if you don’t meet your goal? Of course there will be days when it’s harder to study, especially during the rainy season. There are days when you’ll be distracted and you couldn’t focus. Don’t be afraid to adjust your schedule as needed. But refrain from always doing this and putting off your goals for tomorrow. We all know that each hour of studying matters! “Bukas na lang” and having a lot of excuses won’t help you pass the board exam. Make sure to make up for your backlogs and delays.
It’s better to study in advance than to cram. Besides, you will feel more confident when October comes. Imagine if you are still halfway through the coverage and it’s already October first. I swear, that will be terrifying! SO STUDY IN ADVANCE.
2. Fix your body clock.
On the day of the board exam, you will need to wake up VERY EARLY. If you are nocturnal and you are more productive at night, you will have a hard time to focus during the board exam if you do not fix your body clock. Trust me, I’m a night owl as well.
Why is this important? If you stay up all night studying, your body will be used to waking up late and feeling sluggish during the afternoon. It will be hard to wake up and arrive on time for the exam. For me, it was a challenge to train my mind to be ready for the first exam at 8am and also make sure to fight that after-lunch-siesta sleepiness for the afternoon exam at 1pm.
So my tip is to fix your body clock. While reviewing, I woke up as early as 5am. My study schedule was from 6 in the morning up until 8 in the evening only (breaks included of course!) But it’s still up to you, whatever works for you. That’s just my study tip.
3. Reward yourself!
As mentioned, I only studied for around 12 hours. After a day’s worth of studying, I make sure to reward myself IF I FINISH MY DAILY GOAL OR TARGET. I watch my favorite tv show to unwind or eat my favorite comfort food or go out for a drive and get milktea.
This is important too. Remember that too much of something is always bad. Rewarding yourself will keep you sane, make you feel motivated to accomplish your review goals, and to of course, free your mind of the fears and doubts!!!
4. Choose only one to two reference books per subject.
There are a lot of books available that would help you, but it will be too overwhelming if you study too much books per subject. I will list down below the books that helped me throughout my review.
Psychological Assessment and Theory by Kaplan & Saccuzzo
Psychological Testing and Assessment by Cohen & Swerdlik
Abnormal Psychology: An Integrative Approach by Barlow & Durand
Theories of Personality by Feist & Feist
Industrial and Organizational Psychology by Aamodt
Sikolohiyang Pilipino by Pe-Pua
These were the main materials that I used. I finished these books from cover to cover. These books were recommended by the lecturers in the review center that I enrolled in, RGO.
I also used some of the powerpoints that our lecturers provided as well as the review booklets and drills that were given to us.
5. Enrolling in a review center or self-study?
It’s a case to case basis. Remember that not everyone who enrolled in the review center passed the BLEPP! Enrolling in a review center is not a ticket to those three letters! I would like to believe that this greatly depends on you. Sure, enrolling in a review center has its advantages. You’ll have test drills and review materials. Some lecturers are also kind enough to give a copy of their powerpoint presentations. You’ll also be motivated to study because of a supportive community of fellow Psychology students, review center staff, and your mentors.
But there’s a downside. It was honestly overwhelming and draining to sit from morning til the afternoon, from 8am to 5pm. For someone with a short attention span like me, after two hours, I was honestly zoning out already. It’s hard to pay attention the whole day for lectures.
Another downside is that you will feel pressured, especially when you see your friends’ progress with the review, reading, and results in the test drills. You MIGHT compare where you are and what you’ve accomplished, which leads me to another tip.
6. FOCUS ON YOURSELF but surround yourself with positive people and have a support system!
COMPETE WITH NO ONE ELSE BUT YOURSELF. Don’t compare your progress with anyone else’s. Trust your pace and focus on your own review. It will cause you additional pressure if you compare with the people around you.
Don’t hangout with those with negative vibes. “Hala babagsak ata ako.” “Ako rin.” Remember, our mind is a very powerful place. Feed it with the right fuel. Stay with people who will motivate you and who will not bring you down.
7. Think positive. Be optimistic!
I’m not gonna lie. My BLEPP journey was not easy. There were nights when I felt like giving up. I also doubted myself if I will make it. I shed a lot of tears during that five months of review. My mantra all throughout is: “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”
I didn’t take the exam with the goal of just passing. I wanted to have decent results, to top the board exams if I can. I didn’t have a mindset that’s mediocre, similar to this: “Kapag pumasa ako edi good, kung hindi okay lang.” Why is that, you ask? Because I want to pass the exam. If I give myself the assurance that it’s okay for me to fail, even if in the back of my mind that’s not my goal, and that’s not what I want to achieve, the universe won’t pave a path towards my success. Law of attraction!
So set that goal, claim it. You will pass and all your actions, thoughts, and everything else will be circling around your dream of being an RPm. Believe that you can and you are halfway there.
8. Know your learning style or what works best for you.
In my case, I’m a visual learner. So the use of flashcards (i made my own using index cards), writing down key words, drawing to understand certain concepts, and reading while using colorful highlighters really helped me!
9. Believe in yourself and don’t listen to your demons!
Your motivation will wear out at some point. You will start to doubt yourself. You will begin to question why you wanted to take the exam in the first place. You will feel like you will fail. These are just some facts.
Don’t be afraid. Just pray, trust in the Lord, and His plans. So what if you don’t make it? What are you afraid of? Being judged by others? Being reprimanded? Remember, you can always take the exam again. Passing on your first or second, or third take won’t really matter. What will truly matter is what you do with your license. Just strive, do your best, and believe that you will become an RPm.
10. Apps that helped me.
Forest - The first app that I used is called Forest. It helped me to stay away from social media and to get rid of distractions! It’s also for a good cause because you can plant REAL TREES once you get a certain amount of coins. Stay productive. Help Mother Earth as well.
Tide -  This app helped me to stay calm. The “breathe” option where it guides me to take deep breathes was effective in letting go of my anxious feelings! The “sleep” option helped me to fall asleep faster at night when I need to doze off already and it gave me good sleep because of the relaxing music that the app has. Also, the alarm that this app has helped me not to wake up feeling shocked (unlike the usual alarms in our phones!) The alarm increases in volume so you won’t wake up feeling so surprised because of the loud, nerve-wracking alarms. I hope you got what I was trying to say. Haha!
Headspace - Once I get up every morning, I allot a few minutes to meditate and clear my mind. So I can be ready for an exhausting day of reviewing. It also helped me to think more positively and to get rid of my fears, doubts, and whatnot!
Spotify - Studying with music really helped me remember things better and to stay focused. I highly recommend the Deep Focus playlist on Spotify! If all else fails, listen to Oceans by Hillsong and other Christian songs.
11. On the day of the exam:
Make sure you bring everything you need! (Especially your pencils and NOA)
Bring a jacket.
Make sure that your scantron won’t get crumpled, WET, or tampered!!! PROTECT YOUR ANSWER SHEET AT ALL COSTS. Keep it neat and tidy.
Manage your time well especially for Psych Assessment.
Make sure not to spill your drinks. I brought water and coffee (in case i feel sleepy) and drink away from your paper.
You may use the questionnaires as scratch papers. You can mark and write on them.
Make sure to READ THE QUESTIONS CAREFULLY. Some questions are meant to be confusing. Make sure that you know what they are asking for! (Be aware of the double negatives and look out for the words like “except”, “all but one” etc.
When in doubt, stick to the basics. Go back to the roots and basics of Psychology.
It’s better if you bring food to eat. Imagine that there will be thousands of takers. There will be long lines in the nearby restaurants.
Use your lunch break to rest. Don’t talk to your friends and discuss answers! It might ruin your confidence.
It won’t hurt to follow some superstitious beliefs! What’s there to lose right? I wore red underwear. I entered the room with my right foot first. I broke one pencil (donated the others) after the last exam and I never looked back on my seat once I passed my paper! But of course, your success won’t really be based on these but it gave me some sense of comfort and extra boost of luck, I guess.
PRAY. The Lord is with you. Trust His plans and remember that he answers prayers only with three ways: Yes, Not Yet, and I have something better in mind. Stand firm in faith.
12. After the exam, wait patiently.
I know it will be the most anxious-filled days. You will think that your nervousness will be gone after taking the exam but no. Your anxiety will still be through the roof! Remember to pray. Know that you did what you can. Be proud of yourself because months of studying wasn’t easy. Be proud of yourself too because not EVERYONE had enough courage to even try to take the board exam and that alone is already an achievement.
Those are what helped me to become a Registered Psychometrician. If you have questions and if want to ask for reviewers, don’t be afraid to message me through my Tumblr ask or Twitter DMs . I would be glad to help. I already have a Google Drive with compiled readings/powerpoints available for sharing anytime!
Good luck and do your best! Ora et labora.

Class 11 is the first step in the career. It is generally considered more difficult than class 12. The reason for this is, the study of class 11 is way different from that which students studied till class 10.
