Andrew Carnegie utazása 1848-ban kezdődött, amikor 12 évesen megérkezett Skóciából. Elszántsággal és üzleti érzékkel épített fel egy birodalmat az acélgyártásban, forradalmasítva az amerikai ipart.

Carnegie ahelyett, hogy felhalmozná a vagyonát, elképesztő 350 millió dollárt (a mai pénz közel 11 milliárdot) adományozott több mint 2500 könyvtár építésére Amerikában, és számos egyetemet, alapítványt és békekezdeményezést finanszírozott.

July 28 : I don't compete : There's a song by Baz Luhrman where he's speaking to graduates and I luv it. It's called "Wear Sunscreen."
