a/n: a day late but happy jean day + pi day + ides of march when this comes out >:)

jean overworks. you knew this, of course, but only found out the extent of this after you started dating her -

jean sighs, pushing the pile of paperwork she had just completed aside. "y/n, love, i've got a couple minutes to kill, before my meeting with albedo. shall we take a little stroll?" she says, a faint blush coating her cheeks. after all, she isn't used to taking breaks, let alone with you! you nod eagerly, glad jean is learning how to relax. "c'mon, let's go to marj-" your sentence gets cut off by huffman rushing into the acting grandmaster's office. before he managed to blurt out the whole story behind his sorry state, jean had taken it upon herself to solve the problem?! it took so long for you to convince her to leave the matter to kaeya, or amber, or even lisa; even on your window shopping trip around mondstadt, she was still jittery. she lightened up in the end, and it was quite enjoyable... but situations like that just kept happening!

pet names aren't quite jean's cup of tea, but she calls you "my love" and "dear" as she thinks they sound the most natural, and can be used with your name too -

"y/n, my love, how was your day?" jean greets, dropping her coat by the front door of your shared cottage. she smiles fondly as you recount the day's adventures (or misadventures 🥴), only interjecting with small exclamations at the interesting parts, and small sighs of sympathy at the rather sad ones. "don't worry, dear, for i'm always here for you! don't forget it!" and placing a small peck on your cheek, she disappears into the bathroom for a nice warm shower.

gift giving -

her love language! she loves quality time as well but she has so little time to spend with you. so, she makes it up with gifts! every friday before she heads off, at the crack of dawn, to the knights' headquarters, she leaves a dandelion on your bedside table, so you can awake to it's soothing glow. every anniversary, she picks up something related to your newest interest from "with wind comes glory". and every time she goes away on a business trip, to the corners of fontaine or even to the depths of enkanomiya, she'll pick up a small souvenir, no matter how dangerous it was to get (you've gotten several monster drops from her, and put them to good use at timaeus' crafting station. still... it was a little concerning).
