It seems like Senior has accepted that his son is who he is and I feel like it’s due to him being a wild boy back in the day. Even though he won’t tell his son about it (at least for now lol). I feel like his life pre-church gives him a bit more understanding that mama may not have.

With that being said, does mama ever come to terms?

Does her husband help her with that?

I know she’s working with a version of him that never existed and she wants what she wants for him due to her own upbringing. I’m just wondering if her parents let her do her own thing sometimes or was it church 3-4x a week and sometimes twice on Sundays? Cause if it was all church and no play, I see why she’s struggling. Indoctrination can be hard to depart from. Especially if that’s all you know.

It’s like when parents find out their child is anything but cis and straight and they struggle to accept it because all their lives they’ve been told that it’s wrong and an abomination (with no real evidence to back it up mind you). So they love their child and pretend that that part of them doesn’t exist. Hoping it’s a phase.

I feel like his mom is doing the same thing…kinda…or am I way off base? Lol.

That’s a lot of Senior’s thought process for sure he knows what it’s like to be a young man finding your way through the world. The other part of it comes from him not wanting to lose his son. Really either of his kids, but Kelvin in particular because he’s been mentally and physically very far away and Senior doesn’t want that to happen again.

His mother does eventually, mostly come to terms. Her parents did not leave much room for anything outside of Jesus. They were very strict, religious people who believed in the ceremony and tradition of church damn near more than they believed in the fullness of Christ. So, that thinking is rooted DEEP! She may never let it all go.

She absolutely believed (and partially still believes) Kelvin is just being rebellious. She constantly asks if everything is alright hoping he’ll spill some dark secret and help her unlock the reason he’s been acting out. She doesn’t understand why he put down music to pursue art. She doesn’t get why he won’t come home. He complete aversion to ministry is concerning to her. And to her, he’s not being himself. To Kelvin, she’s fundamentally rejecting who he is a person. Asia is, to his mom, an extension of some sort of temporary straying while, to Kelvin and everyone else, Asia is exactly the type of woman he wants and needs.

It takes Kelvin being radically honest with his mama to get her mostly on board. It was difficult. He felt like he was chastising her and she felt like she’d been fed a lie, but they got through it. But Kelvin knows that’s there’s still a part of her, deeeeeeep down, that prays he’ll change course. Which, again, is less about Asia and more about who she thinks he should be based on what she considers a vision from God. Letting go of that feels like disobedience to God in her eyes. Really, that vision was just something conjured up based on her own programming.

One month and two weeks. Between work travel and personal obligations, the pair hadn’t seen or touched each other in almost seven weeks. Desperate wouldn’t accurately convey how touch starved they’d become.

Asia did her best to control the urges ripping through a body on day two of what should’ve been ovulation and looking for someone, Kelvin, to fertilize what could become a child if the birth control failed to do its job.

Leaned back on her palms, Asia rolled her hips and moaned more to herself than anyone else in the room with her face and hardened nipple pointing toward the ceiling. She deserved this. Kelvin was a happy benefactor and he made his happiness known with a voice that was far too loud for 11 pm on a Friday.

He let another moan rip through the atmosphere before gaining some clarity. He pressed the pads of his thumbs deeper into her hips to ground himself.

“Baby, you gone get us in trouble with the neighbors if you keep fucking me like you miss me,” he laughed just as another wave of pleasure dissolved him into a puddle of lust.

Asia adjusted her position to press her breasts into his face and cradle Kelvin’s head close, not caring what he had to say. She was too close to the edge to pull back now.

It is FINALLY Friday!!

I was gonna ask this last night but I def fell asleep lol.

As it pertains to weddings.

I know T&P kinda had a…I don’t wanna say rushed but it was a quick turnaround wedding. Had they done the whole setting a date, picking a venue, cake tasting, etc, what might that have looked like? Also would they have done a first look before showtime?

Same question for A&K but without that first part since they’re still navigating it all. Well Asia is, Kel ready to get married yesterday lol. 

I also see a situation for both couples where the coordinator has to go looking for them so they can take pictures because they ducked off somewhere doing god knows what to each other 😂😂😂.

THANK GOD! I been up since the ass crack of dawn trynna mosey on down this road to get home for Mother’s Day. Nonetheless, happy weekend!

T+P absolutely would’ve still gotten married in Wilmington on the family’s land, but it would’ve been much bigger. Patrice kind of gets on Terry about not having more of his family there, so that would be the biggest change. They’d have a more even split of his folks and hers. Even if they had to financially help some of them come. Terry didn’t care that much because both of his grandmas had passed on by then and Mike was gone, so he didn’t feel much kinship with either side, but Patrice is adamant about extending that invitation (and he eventually does reconnect). There would’ve been a bridal party and Patrice would’ve had her aunt make her dress instead of purchasing. Terry would’ve had his sisters and a few friends on his side. Patrice would’ve LOVED the planning process with her mom, Aunt and Imani but also let it stress her out at some point. That whole plot of land would’ve been damn near a bed and breakfast with the way she would’ve used it as a hosting venue and had people leaving with gifts every time they visited. The fanfare would’ve been off the charts. I’m talking colors, table settings, a real dancefloor, the whole nine. While they both loved their small wedding (Patrice frequently calls it a shotgun wedding to get on Terry and her Mama’s nerves), Patrice wouldn’t mind another crack at it and would put the money aside to have something a bigger scale.

Kelvin and Asia would have a really elegant black tie affair almost fully planned by Kelvin 😂. He’d have A LOT of involvement. He loves a party and he loves to entertain. Having absolute control over a party where he gets to be the center of attention with his lady just sweetens the deal. Asia is much less interested in the ra-ra of it all. She’s willing to play along and do the small things with her mother (like dress shopping) but she’d much rather leave the rest to Kel. It’d be grand, it’d be non-traditional, likely in a city environment and would start at night because Kelvin thinks it’s sexy. Think Oscar’s party but somebody gets a new last name by the end of the night. It’d be a TIME and full of people.

Both couples would 100% find a way to get out of dodge and kiss. Terry and Patrice wouldn’t get much leeway because their folks know how they get. Kelvin and Asia? Chile. As soon as no one is looking, somebody getting touched in a way that would make other grown folks blush 😂

Less immature and more…inexperienced if that makes sense. Sometimes he like well she thinks about it this way because it’s never happened to her. On occasion, he’s correct. Her view on living together, for example, was because she’d never shared space with anyone. So she had no frame of reference for how to exist in constant contact.

A lot of times, though, he’s wrong. Kelvin moves fast because he’s seen a lot already. What he sees as inexperience or hesitation is literally someone taking their time and thinking things through.
