"¡Estas son las INCREÍBLES Incógnitas que los Aspirantes al Título de IndyCar Enfrentan antes de Long Beach! ¿Te lo Vas a Perder?" - ¡Impresionante cómo #IndyCar está encendiendo el circuito este año! Pero en serio, hay algunas cosas que simplemente no cuadran. En mi opinión, algunos de los aspirantes al título podrían tener un camino más duro de lo que deberían. A ver, no me hagan caso, pero parece que hay más preguntas que respuestas para estos corredores. Por ejemplo, ¿cómo puede ser que Scott Dixon, uno de los corredores más exitosos, esté batallando tanto esta temporada? ¿No les parece raro? Parece que no está rindiendo al nivel esperado y eso no es normal en él. Además, hablemos de esa maniobra inaudita con Santino Ferrucci. Eso de no tener sanción me parece ilógico, sobretodo con todo el reglamento que tenemos. Es una decisión cuestionable, al menos en mi humilde opinión. #NotCool Y otro tema, ¿qué demonios está pasando con Pato O'Ward? Este chico es un gran talento, pero no ha estado a la altura de las expectativas. Su rendimiento ha dejado mucho que desear en las primeras carreras y eso me resulta extraño, considerando su historial. Creo que su equipo, Arrow McLaren SP, tiene mucho qué analizar y mejorar si quiere tener alguna oportunidad de éxito. La verdad es que me preocupa el futuro de esta competencia. ¿Está todo el mundo jugando en el mismo campo? No estoy seguro. A veces pienso que ciertos equipos están jugando sucio, y no me gusta ese estilo. Me gusta la emoción de la competición, pero también me gusta que sea justa. ¿No opinan igual? Además, ¿realmente estamos valorando la seguridad de los conductores? Creo que los fanáticos merecen respuestas. Ya sabemos cuán temerario puede ser el deporte motor, pero eso no significa que no debamos hacer todo lo posible para garantizar que todos estén tan seguros como sea posible en la pista. El hecho de que estas cuestiones sigan sin respuesta no es bueno para la reputación de la IndyCar. Necesitamos transparencia y honestidad para mantener la integridad de este gran deporte. Espero que la IndyCar pueda afrontar y resolver estos problemas rápidamente para beneficio de todos. ¡Y que conste! No estoy señalando a nadie en particular, pero sí necesitamos una competencia justa. Nos merecemos carreras emocionantes pero limpias. ¡Vamos IndyCar, tú puedes hacerlo mejor! Time is on my side...or It’s Never Too Late To Start

A while back I had a tee shirt that said “It’s Not the Destination, It’s the Journey.”  The shirt was in no way about fitness, but the saying can be applied to a healthy lifestyle.  It’s all to easy to think that you’re too old to start something new; whether it be a new hobby, a new job, making an investment...or putting time and effort into getting healthy & fit.  

It’s easy to see fit young people making everything they do look easy and getting discouraged because you don’t fall into the same demographic, or your waist size isn’t a 30″, or you can’t run a five minute mile...or..or...or.  Pick your excuse, there are a million of them.

The truth is if you want to find an excuse you will.  But if you happen to be on the fence and are using age as your excuse I can tell you that you should toss that one out the window and start doing whatever it is you want to try.  Fitness doesn’t happen over night, and it’s not a destination, it’s a lifelong journey.

As I sit here writing this my age starts with a four.  At this point I’ve been a regular runner for fifteen or sixteen years.  That means I didn’t run track in high school; I woke up one day with a hangover and decided I wanted to go for a run.  It was in March and it was cold out.  I put on a pair of clunky old sneakers, and struggled through two miles or so. Two weeks later I bought a pair of Nike Shox for $99.99, my mother thought it was a waste of money and they’d collect dust.  Those shoes are long gone, but running is still my go to activity for fitness.  It’s meditative, it’s challenging, it’s a stress relief.  Running changed my life for the better.

If you want more proof that it doesn’t matter when you start I didn’t run my first 5K until I was in my mid 30′s.  If you’re doing the math it was about years after that first run.  And like this post, my first marathon came with a 4 as the first digit in my age.  Now that the marathon humble brag is out of the way, I’ll double back and talk about the beginning of the journey; I could barely run the length of a football field without having to stop.  Yes, it’s discouraging, but stick with it.  It gets easier.  You’ll feel better after a few weeks and start to see gains.  The times start to come down, you’ll go a little further then the day before.  You’re clothes will fit a little bit looser.  

On his podcast Rich Roll told a guest that 43 was his best year.  He swam collegiately at Stanford as an undergrad, well before he was 43.  Dean Karnazas is close to 60 and didn’t start doing distance until he was in his 30′s (but he’s also a bit of a gene freak and otherworldly.)

If you think you’re too old, your not.   

If you want to make a change make the change.  

You’ll be better for it in the long run.

Parece que Verstappen ha pisado el acelerador un poquito más que Leclerc en la calificación del Gran Premio de Arabia Saudita. ¡Vaya, vaya! Me pregunto si Ferrari tiene un truco bajo el capó para la carrera principal. #F1 #SaudiArabiaGP Definitivamente, estos chicos de Red Bull Racing saben cómo hacerlo. Pero, ¿alguna vez te has preguntado qué pasaría si colocaras el motor de un F1 en, digamos, un Toyota Camry? No sé ustedes, pero estoy bastante seguro de que la sensación sería algo así como si te hubiera golpeado un trineo de Santa Claus a toda velocidad, pero en sentido inverso. A pesar de los esfuerzos de Leclerc, el Monegasco parece haber llegado segundo una vez más. ¿El dilema de siempre? Tal vez. Pero es demasiado pronto para tomar conclusiones. ¡Este es solo el comienzo! Verstappen estará en el punto más dulce de la parrilla de salida mañana que, francamente, parece la posición envidiada por todos, excepto si estás soñando con los adelantamientos emocionantes. Quiero decir, ¿quién no quiere ver esa acción? En una nota un poco más 'gritona', estoy sorprendido de cómo Racing Point y su piloto Sergio "Checo" Pérez están fuera de los primeros cinco lugares.
