Lewis Hamilton after finishing P5 in Spain | 03.06.23 "Overnight I stayed here till about 10 oclock. We studied the data. Mike... Mick went back was in the UK on the simulator and did great work. The engineers all did great work and we made some steps forward with the set-up and the car came really quite alive today. I couldn't believe we were out at the front. I was just saying I having to eat my words during qualifying because I was through to the top 10. On one side, because we're not fighting for a WDC I'm not down that I lost 2 tenths in T10. I'm more like: It's great that we're fighting for second place in the first time in a long time. So... I'll take it. And take that little bit of negativity in positive. Terrible long run speed? I think the car is in a much better place and our long-run pace isn't as bad as I thought. Tomorrow: what tyres we are on, what the weather gonna be up to. I'm just gonna try and hunting down Max some how.

Together, the second and third. Firstly, George did a fantastic job to come from 12th to 3rd. Great points from the team. I hope everyone back at the factory, that's way back home, feels proud of themselves for the work they have done and the step that we've taken this weekend. And last weekend.

The car felt great. We definitely, of course, have steps to continue taking to try and close the gap to the Red Bulls but this is way more than I expected this weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed the race. If you are quick here you should be quick elsewhere. But I think the way these cars work there is a narrow working window. So I think there will be tracks where it's not so great maybe, but I am hoping that is not the case. And I'm hoping it's strong like this weekend. Mega points for the team. I think we've gone second in the constructors championship. I think we have the strongest team. Particularly George and I punching out great results weekend in, weekend out. We just need to pick up the performance a little more - which everyone is working hard to do - and then hopefully at some stage we can catch those Red Bull's

Firstly, absolutely shocked today to see us... It was a real surprise to see us so far up front, and ultimately competing for ultimately the front row. We did some great work overnight with the analysis. I did a lot of work... I was here till 23:00 last night trying to find some time

I knew this morning when I woke up that I was on a mission, but anyways I definitely didn't expect to be fighting for front row. The car really came alive today during Q3. I think ultimately just the whole package. Big Big thank you to everyone at the factory. It shows we are progressing.

I was on the front row up until turn 10. I got into turn 10, I got onto the power and the car just snapped into oversteer. I have to see exaclty what happened and that is where I lost 2 tenths. I'm not like killer dissapointed, maybe if I was fighting for a WDC. I more just really encouraged to see the car where it is and hopefully tomorrow I can progress forwards. Contact with George? Afterwards the car was pulling to the right. I put the wheel in the grass... I don't know... It was just a miss communication thing. Generally n the lap it was feeling alright. So, I think we should be alright.

This is what we were hoping for when we brought the upgrades. I mean, we’d hope for more in the sense of a bigger step; the actual performance step, they told us, was under 2 tenths. That’s still good, but not the step everyone is working so hard towards, but we’ll take it. This result is definitely what we’re working towards. This is an amazing and down to all the great great work that’s going on with the people back at the factory. Just keeping their heads down. I hope everyone is feeling very proud back at the factory. And George did a great job today. So we delivered good points on a whole. I think today we took more points than Red Bull, I think? Maybe? Today? Or as many? Probably? So we just gotta keep this up. For us to be quicker than the Ferraris and the Astons was really mega. Result flattered because AM and Ferrari felt back? That's not the way I look at it. I like to look at the glass half full? *thinks* I think we generally had better pace then them. I think collectively as a team we generally did a better job, made less mistake, delivered through the session. Great strategy today for example. So yeah.
