Liam wasn't— he should have been focusing on his footsteps. Why was he looking for one of the notes crossing this unstable bridge? Over the river?

Airy tries to help, but Liam — he needs the notes. He needs to be able to get home. He pulled himself out of Airy's grasp, jumping into the water.

It was cold.

The water shocked his body, and it took several moments before he could open his eyes. But then he saw one of the notes. He reached out, he needed to put it away—

But it disintegrated. Torn in half. Falling more and more apart every time he tried to grab it. Every note was ruined. Liam had just lost everything.

He washed ashore, coughing up water. The sand stuck to him as he collapsed onto the beach. Everything. It was all gone. Footsteps approached him, and he heard Airy say something, but he didn't care. He was stuck here with his kidnapper now, and he could never return home.

He felt Airy's hand hesitantly land on Liam's shoulder, before awkwardly patting his shoulder. Liam shot him a glare, and tight as the other object was about to comment, everything seemed to glitch, the chromatic colors branching off of him before-

Liam jerked awake, the rustling of dried cattails beneath him. He hastily unzips himself, pulling out the notes. The radio stations. They're safe. Liam's heart races, and he stares at the sf station, as if memorizing the numbers.

A dull blue light catches his eye — Texty's screen went out of sleep mode.

[Is everything ok?]

Liam checked the computer's battery — 80%. He lets out a deep breath. "Yeah. Yeah, just— just a nightmare," he whispers, not particularly wanting to wake Airy up now that he wasn't rushing.

[Do you want to talk about it?]

"It isn't much, honestly. Just about earlier today. When I slipped, I had— I had lost everything. All of Stone's notes, your charger, the way back home." Liam rested his head on his hands. "But that doesn't matter. It's all safe, and in the morning Airy's gonna take everyone back home where they're supposed to go, and I'll make sure he'll never do this to anyone else."
