Remembering Anne Rice on the second anniversary of her death:
What does the word "vampire" mean to you? The vampire for me is a metaphor for the outsider, the outcast, the predator in all of us --- the lonely one, the heart and soul that feels immortal even when it knows that we all die. Vampire characters help me to talk about reality. They always have. When I'm with Lestat, and Armand and Louis, and Gabrielle, I'm in the real world. All colors blaze bright and music soars to Heaven and I'm not lonely for a while, I'm safe. And that's why I write about them and through them and with them.

A super fast scribble of Sebastian and Anne as kids💓
In my mind they were absolutely wild growing up, their parents pushing them outside in the morning with a picnic basket, to just run around in the fields & forests around their hamlet all day, coming home in time for dinner (totally inspired by my childhood growing up in a tiny village of 300 people 😂🫶). They always read together as a family by the candlelight before going to bed, and they’re memories that Sebastian and Anne cherish.
Also, Anne definitely took charge of their adventures and Sebastian was just happy to follow her around like a little puppy 💓💓
Bahhhh i just love thinking about their siblings dynamic 🤧🥰 sorry for my rambling haha

Darcy's role in P&P would work for me anyway, but tbh it works for me 10x better because he halfway reverts back to form towards the end of the book.

no one told me that the simone-karl plot from why women kill would rip my heart out and stomp it into little itty bitty pieces

One of my favourite parts of "Persuasion" is when Frederick says to Anne "You did not use to like cards; but time makes many changes." and then she responds "I am not yet so much changed." and then he says "It is a period, indeed! Eight years and a half is a period!" because this is such an important part of the book. It's when they both truly realise that neither of them is the same as they were 8 years ago. They're not 19 and 23 anymore, but 27 and 31. They both have scars and are more mature with a better understanding of the world and, more importantly, each other. And all part of each of them wants to do is go back to the beginning and rewrite the story from the start so they aren't separated and have to go through over eight years of emotional agony, but they can't, so they have to write a new ending. And they do.

I will say, I don't understand the compulsion to claim anytime a writer used to write fanfic that they repurposed their fanfic. Like read like 3 things by the same author and you'll realize authors have their things, characters and plotlines they like, words or metaphors they prefer. It can often be an intimate experience where you start to get the sense of what is haunting that author. Yes their works may look similar but they are in fact written by the same person, enjoy getting to know them. And furthermore I hate the culture of artists having to pretend art doesn't inspire other art without fearing accusations of plagiarism

What are your top 3 nhl teams with the best vibes?
ooh ok. yea. fun. love this. im going to declare all my biases upfront: im a pens, bruins & wild fan so obviously my nr 1 is:
minny
they have flower. they have kaprizov. they go on homoerotic little holidays together. they have two deweys and one foligno. their captain is pretty and everyone is short. every game is somehow embarrassing. even if they win. especially if they win. 11/10 cant lose.
nr 2: philly
i dont follow them or root for them but i will have nightmares about the dog mask every day for the rest of my life. also they made drysdale come hang out w them during the all star break and that was cute. also the conga line. hardass coach but we stay silly. 9/10 solid vibes.
nr 3: yotes
jason zucker lives there.

Some of y'all realising that Nicki Minaj is not a girls girl while little mix fans knew her true colors when she decided to publicly humiliate Leigh Anne, a black woman to promote her new single with Jesy Nelson who was accused of blackfishing ☕
