I would just like to thank james drummond for dying so conveniently he solves so many problems <3
#personal#fhldjhjs i'm writing ok but like. listen.#first of all it answers why jamie actually survives culloden#bc the maclaren and stuarts of appin was part of the initial jacobite push that got surrounded and cut to shreds#the chance of making it out of that alive are very slim#(and jamie is like. not significantly wounded in the highlanders he doesn't really seem like he's been in an area of very intense combat)#therefore. pausing to sit with jimmy while he died was effectively what saved him#he never made it far enough to be in the group that got surrounded#second of all i've always struggled w/ like#figuring out his thought process for actually agreeing to step on board the tardis?#like sure he doesn't know what's going to happen but polly is pretty clear about 'can we take him with us'#& he hasn't been so out of it up until that point that he wouldn't understand that#but on the flip side he stowed away from the ship bc he wanted to return home rather than going to france#so the question is what changed between being on the annabelle and being at the tardis#answer: they walked across the battlefield to get there#potentially close to where jimmy died#which brought it back into his mind#and maybe that instant of re-traumatisation over his childhood best friend dying made him feel like home was inaccessible and very far away#he must have felt like his world was shattered. to hammer in the fact that he can go home but he can't ever go back to how things were#and maybe suddenly he just can't face going home. to have to tell people what happened to jimmy (because he's the only one who knows!!!)#he desperately wants a way out and the tardis is right there#also the possibility of two-jamie parallels through running away because home has become unlivable.............#coming at things from very different angles but converging to the same point................

Tommy Shelby- Old Love Pt2
Tumblr media
I just realised I never posted the rest of Old Love. Oops. Here is Pt2
Pt1 Pt3
3rd Person POV
YN walks out of the bar taking her son from Polly and carrying him out with her. Tommy hasn't moved since she has walked out. Micheal, Tommys cousin looks around at the Shelby family confused
"What's up with him?"
"He saw his ex wife again with his son" John replies looking at Michael
"Wait Tommy was married to her? Why'd he let her go she was...."
"Thank you Michael that will be enough" Tommy snaps out of his trance and makes his way over to Arthur "what she doing back?"
"I sent her a letter"
"Why? She doesn't want anything to do with me. She made that pretty clear the last time I saw her"
"She was in a rough place then Tom"
"Yeah? She seemed fine packing up her shit and walking out"
"Maybe you should talk to her. You don't know what she's been going through"
"Oh and I suppose you do?" Tommy turns towards his older brother "what were you doing in there?"
"Talking. You need to talk to her. If not for your sake but for that boys. You have a son Tommy and you've been acting like a fool"
"She made her bed. She can lie in it!"
"Thomas Micheal Shelby" Polly places her hands on her hips, not happy with how her nephew is speaking about the mother of his child "you once loved that woman. You loved her enough to marry her and have a child with her. Have you ever thought about how you have effected her? Hum? That little boy is 3 years old and you've barley been in his life. Have you ever tried to talk to her?"
"Polly she chose to leave I didn't ask her to?"
"No maybe not with those words. But you were so in your own head that you didn't notice that she was being starved of love and affection. She was struggling, but you put your own problems in front of hers. You flirted with Grace in front of her then when she left and you got divorced you slept with Grace"
"To get over her. I loved her Poll"
"Loved? Or love? Tommy" and with that his aunt leaves the pup leaving the Shelby brothers and Micheal alone to think about everything she hand just said
"She's right Tom your still love her" John pats his older brothers shoulder
"What we John" Tommy shrugs his brothers hand from his shoulder and he goes to get himself a drink.
YNs POV
Seeing Tommy again practically breaks my heart, do I want us to be a family again? Of course! But I also know I need to look after myself and my boy
"Mummy why doesn't daddy love us anymore?"
"He does love you baby, daddy just struggles to show his love"
"I miss living with daddy"
"I know you do. I do as well" I sigh and carry Charlie to my parents house where we're going to be staying while we're here. I open the door and the smell of my mums cooking envelopes my nose
"YN love your home"
"Hi mum"
"Nanna" Charlie shouts. I put him down and he runs to his Nan
"Hi sweetheart, grandads in the garden digging up the vegetables"
"Ok" Charlie runs off to help my dad
"Have you seen him yet?"
"Yeah" I reply following my mum into the kitchen
"How is he" I shrug
"Not sure. He doesn't remind me of the man I married"
"The war ruined a lot of families. It took your dad a while to be well again"
"I get that mum I do. I bit my tongue, but cheating on me was to far mum"
"Polly told me that he never slept with her, not while you were his wife. When you left he got worse"
"I still love him but I don't know what to do"
"Talk to him"
"Your not the first person to tell me that today"
"YN you have both gone through a lot since you got married"
"He was self mum"
"Haven't you been a little selfish as well YN?"
"What?" I frown at my mum
"Well you didn't talk to Tommy about anything, but you expected him to understand that something was going on? YN you took his son away. Your both in the wrong for what's happened between you"
"Your right" I sigh
"Mummy, mummy look I got a potato" Charlie comes running into the kitchen holding a potato in his hand
"Woah that's amazing. Do you want it for your supper?"
"Can I?"
"I'll start boiling it" mum takes the potato from Charlie and starts peaking it.

Fire and Hemlock Readalong: Part 3 Chapter 2
In which Polly finds Tom again.
This chapter contains the most overt depiction of magic in the entire book, which almost overshadows Polly's magic. She finds Tom by "following a tugging in her head," leading her to the Dumas Quartet rehearsing for a last-minute show. "Knowing things is Polly's heroic gift," Tom says. Later on, too, she's the one who sees through Mr. Leroy's trick with the trash monster.
I have to wonder what Tom told the quartet about Polly. Like, I would be seriously side-eyeing any friend of mine that told me they had a twelve year old RP partner who they met at a funeral. I feel like Ann would have some words to say about that. Also, we later learn that she has some connections to the Perry Leroys as well, though it's not clear if Tom knows; Ann might even know enough to suspect what Tom is using Polly for, even if she doesn't know the how.
Ann alias Tan Audel is the most interesting member of the quartet to me. Her gift, as Polly says, is that she never forgets, and indeed she is the one who writes the story in the new timeline that triggers Polly's memories, even though one of the others wrote the original. But she's also interesting as pretty much the only positive adult female representation in the book (to be fair, adult men are all pretty shady here as well; but there aren't any women in Nowhere except for Hero and Edna until Tan Audel is revealed). And Ann isn't described as heroic or pretty or with anything grand; she is described as having a "frank friendliness," eyes "direct and amused," with a "square, quiet face." She's not the sort of woman who shows up in hero tales but is very much the sort of woman you want in everyday life.
And when Polly asks ("hopefully") if Tom might marry Ann, Tom responds with a laugh and a "Ann has her own ideas about such things."
The "hopefully" is interesting, because Polly's reaction to Mary Fields has strongly resembled jealousy, but perhaps it hasn't quite turned into romantic jealousy yet. Her hopefulness seems to indicate that Tom is a sort of family member to her, and she's hoping he might marry Ann the way a child might hope for a nice stepmother. Ann's "own ideas" seem decidedly queer, though.
The scene with the quartet is so gentle and soft and cozy, one of the happiest moments in the entire book. The way the quartet all immediately take care of Polly and make sure her well-being is a priority is something we haven't seen from anyone except Granny, and even Granny's love has a gruff edge to it. And this is such an important scene because it sets the standard for how people, particularly children, should be treated, and that the way Polly's parents treat her really is horrible. It's hard when you're inside a situation sometimes to see how bad it is when it just feels normal.
In fact, Polly specifically does not read her book here, because she doesn't need the escape. (We also get the call back about not putting books facedown - it's from Tom of course, and it was strong enough to make it into her second set of memories.)
Tom takes Polly to the station (and so much of this book takes place at or going to or coming from train stations, or on roads. The liminal spaces between No Where and Now Here) but the wind that has been threatening for the past two chapters rears its head - literally - becoming a monster made of wind and garbage. The Leroy magic, of course, uses what is already there. But just as Tom tries to run it over with the car, Polly realizes it is actually Sam - or Tan Hanivar, as she shouts, because they are very much in Nowhere at that moment.
This, as Tom notes, is almost exactly what happens in one of the stories he wrote. "What is it about us?" Tom asks. "We make things up, and they go and happen."
Mr. Leroy uses them, Polly wanted to say. But there was more to it than that. She thought of Mr. Piper's shop in Stow-on-the-Water, which seemed to have nothing to do with Mr. Leroy. "I don't know," she said wearily.
Tom is starting to understand his curse, though he hasn't fully accepted it yet. It's interesting because between Tom and Polly, they have a complete picture of what is going on - Tom has the adult knowledge of history and context with the Leroys, while Polly has a child's insight and intuition about magic. But they aren't able to put the pieces together yet.

been thinking a lot about nora and her sexuality. nora to me is a product of her environment an arguably sexually repressed twenty-something who can't get her kit off as easy as the other women around her.
i've mentioned this in the past that by modern standards i'd class nora as a demisexual but over the past few days i've been binge watching pose, whilst writing away at nora's timeline and if i'm honest, nora's bisexual with a preference for women.
nora, deep down is such a scared, insecure little girl who tried to sprint before she could crawl. she ran from her problems at home, she ran from her problems in london and if it hadn't been for polly mangling in her life, she'd've ran all the way back to london after getting rid of the baby like esme had told her to do.
she likes the pretty things in life she never had or wasn't allowed to touch so this kid's head exploded when she hit london.
heading down south to become an actress then moving in with her neighbour's slightly older daughter who'd been working as a dancer for sabini. eilidh took nora under her wing. took her out to the dancehalls, the clubs, the shows and little nora had stars in her eyes for the scene and her new flatmate.
contrary to popular belief nora's first drug-fuelled sexual encounter was with eilidh at seventeen. it terrified her but it was the one thing she didn't want to run from which scared her even more.
but the glitterball burst evenutally. eilidh had started seeing the sabini's new bartender, chasing her new high and within a few months they were already engaged, ready to run off to canada together. nora's stage work dried up so she headed for her auntie's in birmingham.
nora's having a hard time dealing with her sexuality and after feeling abandoned, yet again by those she trusted to look after her she begins projecting what she thinks she needs onto this sweet brummy boy she met in the garrison. one she's sure her family would love and with esme watching over, nothing could go wrong.
then we hit the problem. that same rush and hit of adrenaline nora experienced when she went to london, she watched the same thing happen to michael.
but nora wouldn't stop it, because michael loved her, he wouldn't leave her and if she joined in then he wouldn't have to seek anything elsewhere.
michael became nora's protector literally and figuratively, he stood in front of the life she once had and she wanted to keep it that way.
everything nora felt for eilidh, she felt for michael but she'd convinced herself that this was different, because this was the way it was intended.
(in reality, nora was infatuated with eilidh as a dumb teenager and she became hellbent on projecting that same feeling onto michael. the difference was, eilidh saw nora as that dumb teenager too but michael saw nonie.)
then michael got himself arrested and well, everything went to shit.
i'm not going to spoil it (the timeline is nearly done, i promise!) but nora's sycophantic need for control over this part of her life is what kept her from unfortunate eilidh's fate.
(i also just wanna make it clear, for as much as the initial intention was to shake-off the fear of her sexuality. nora does love michael and out of all people, not just on a practical level but of all people its him she's most terrified of ever finding out because its him she doesn't want to loose - which we know she does).

Its bugging me that Ada basically told Tommy he's not himself bc he's not drinking whisky. I mean she saw how messed up he was and told him to throw out the opium and she must know that he attempted suicide? How is this not a positive thing? He's clear headed and not standing on bridges, so that's a plus right? That whole convo with her was weird to me. Does his family really not get him at all? This season is depressing af (thanks for listening :)
well, i think there's a lot going on.
part of it is due to the fact that the entire family -- Ada and Lizzie included -- are alcoholics, or at the very least have dysfunctional relationships to the stuff. so tommy being sober is a big disruption of the family dynamic on that level alone. it calls into question their own relationships to alcohol. they all bond via social drinking, they call a bar home base, etc. Opium was something above and beyond whisky -- whisky they all understand and accept as normal; cocaine is normalized as well to a lesser extent. Opium and heroin and laudanum are not, are seen as harder drugs I think. That would probably take another post to unpack.
secondly, no, his family doesn't get him and never has, since the war. he came back different, he's always behaving in ways they don't understand or trust, they regularly express doubts about his motivations, etc. this is just another change -- and one that in a way is more disruptive than the war even, because my guess is they were all heavy drinkers from adolescence so it's a part of Tommy and of the family dynamic that predated the war, it's something reassuringly familiar that he's torn away.
Another layer is that sure, he's alive and clearheaded and not standing on any bridges but it's pretty obvious he's not thrilled to still be here. It wasn't by choice, even if he's made the choice not to go through with suicide again. Polly's death had to have made it even harder to stick around. Lizzie talks about his dead voice, and how he behaves as if he's watching everything on a screen. Arthur talks about his smile, Ada wants to know where her brother is -- honestly he's been like that since season 1 to a certain extent, but I think this signals it's been noticably increased for his family to have picked up on it and worried about it.
He's monofocused on whatever his plan is to the exclusion of everything else. Lizzie talks about how he moves from one thing to another like she's just part of another list -- which signals that he wasn't always like this with her. while i don't think he's dramatically different he is definitely speaking in a way that's more deliberate, almost robotic, a lot of the time. So much of what he says comes across as rehearsed. Again, this isn't totally new either, but that was the most obvious change to me. Like someone else said, he's going through the motions.
On the other hand, look at the conversation on the phone with Lizzie when he freaked the fuck out about what was going on with Ruby -- that was really different behavior for him, it comes across as irrational to Lizzie, he escalates to an inch from hysterical in a very short time -- and Lizzie isn't totally shocked by it. by the content of what he's saying, yes, but not by his emotional outburst. Which is probably something that's happened now that he's sober and not self-medicating all the time, the shit that he was numbing comes out in ways that he has much less control over. there's a lot of trauma that he doesn't have the usual means to cope with any more and that's got to have had an impact on his behavior.
But really I think it's his thwarted act of suicide that has alarmed his family, and rather than look too closely at that, they're focusing on the thing that won't let them forget any of it -- his sobriety. My guess is they don't talk about how he tried to kill himself, but they can talk about how he only drinks water, you know? The suicide though, that's something they can't just pass off as Tommy being Tommy, oh he came back from the war that way -- I really think that for ten years his family was unsettled by his behavior but it was way too easy for them to look the other way at the fact that he was clearly fucked up. He was so functional (to a terrifying extent) and he was the one keeping the family together and he'd brought them so much success and power. To look at the toll on him directly, to confront it, was too much. They all relied on him to keep it together and to keep them afloat. But now there's this evidence that somethings' really wrong, and they can't pretend it's not there any more.
anyway wow i rambled a lot and still feel like i haven't covered everything but i'll stop here.

Choujin X: Chapter 1
So I'm really excited to read more of Sui Ishida's newest manga, and I'm arriving just in time for the front seats! I don't want to let this pass without writing down my thoughts on the first chapter and possibly look at it in the future as the story progresses. You can read it here:
Having said that, please note there will be spoilers ahead!
Tomato Girl
The chapter starts with this cute little girl with that native(?) farmer-like hat, who supposedly grows big fruits (it's huge in Japan, look it up!). I think she will also be a main character since she's the first person we see. From this point I'll call her Tomato Girl. She is obviously from a rural area and is a farmer. We see her motivation is money (and that big dog... which, I think we will see in the future lol). She also wants to marry a "handsome goldilocks hubbie", lol. Wonder if this means she's going to be a love interest of the other cast? She also wants to have 9 kids. Naki and Miza, is that you?! Lol. So here, we have a girl with lofty aspirations! We shall see if any of this will happen or if it will change or if she's lying!
Also an observation - Tomato Girl is also close with her granddad, since she said she's going to the contest in lieu of her granddad (whose back was hurt). She obviously has this strong personality, standing up to the creepy bad guy, who was going to hit the old lady.
Bad Guy
The Bad Guy (since this guy doesn't have a name yet) is obviously a terrorist-for-hire. Also seems to be obsessed with beauty and elegance. I would guess his power lies in blowing things up?
I think, though, that Tomato Girl is a choujin herself, considering she didn't immediately get blown away. Plus, Bad Guy was on fire, and so was she. So, it doesn't necessarily mean Tomato Girl is already dead. She also seems to be reaching out to the Bad Guy as that scene ends.
It's later revealed that despite the plane crash, there were 200 survivors. Hmmmmmmm. Maybe they were turned into choujins?Only the hull was burned but the frame wasn't.
Tokio Kurohara and Azuma Higashi
Yes, the MC! He's notices the plane catching fire. Then, for some reason, Tokio's teacher (Ms. Bazonkas) has a weird voluptuous design. BUT, I think there's something afoot there. She might actually also be a choujin. Possibly a mentor role for Tokio? She seems to be very knowledgeable.
Anyway, going back to Tokio. He's introduced as a sixteen-year-old high school sophomore from Tsuru High. Like any high school kid, he finds studying math to be useless. We're also shown that lives in a district which has destroyed buildings. Possibly dystopian future?
We next find a girl getting harassed by a Mohawk guy and his 2 honchos. Tokio calls for someone, turns out to be Azuma. I just thought it's funny how he called for Azuma, he sounds like a police officer. Haha. But right after, Azuma is introduced, flying from a building.. a very dramatic, heroic entrance. He kinda looks like a hybrid of Haise and Armin from AOT for me. Haha. He's so cute and tiny but he's strong and is apparently the town hero. He breaks the arm of the thug, which Tokio thinks is going too far.
The girl seems to be a pretty girl, and I think she will play a role later on. She's a lot older than them, since she said she's going to an interview. She will possibly a love interest or a villain, but I think more of the latter. I just read CSM so I'm wary of pretty girls lol. Anyway, I think there's something there to link her with Azuma, considering, Azuma introduces both Azuma and Tokio but she only seems to thank or acknowledge Azuma. Tokio even says "don't mention it" even if the girl didn't even thank him, lol.
Azuma and Tokio talk about the plane crash, and it's revealed that choujins seem to abuse their power, and that the attack is kinda normal. We look at their hometown which is really wrecked. Buildings are dilapitated in an abnormal manner -- one building looks like it was done in with a circular force... They live in Yamato Prefecture which is described as an ordinary, self-governed prefecture with some areas partially destroyed. Wonder what self-governed means, but my guess is that it's kinda like a state and the national government is different altogether.
Roly-Poly
Well I never really thought of pill bugs or rolly pollies until I read this. Azuma talks about how roly polies roll around in dry areas and when they find a damp rock, they hide under it. He questions if the roly polies like damp places. And Azuma wonders if choujins are anything like roly-polies. Tokio is confused, so am I. I'm not going to make solid convictions what he means by it, but I think... what Azuma is driving at is that, roly polies and choujins DON'T like damp places. I don't know, I have no reason for this, it's just a guess. We'll see what Azuma means eventually. Haha.
It also appears that choujins are generally bad guys, since Azuma wonders why they don't use their power for good. Maybe something about being a choujin corrupts? Just a guess based on the succeeding events.
They end their conversation with Azuma thinking if he can help with the plane crash. Tokio comments, "seems noble of you" and Azuma says, "it's just a habit". Wonder if Tokio finds Azuma pretentious or if he's genuinely impressed. Azuma's answer is also quite concerning, "just a habit", a question arises if he's sincere in helping in the first place.
The Mohawk Guy
So this guy is supposed to be a funny, evil villain, now bent on exacting revenge from Azuma. Then, a guy (possibly gay guy because he is wearing a lipstick?) with a briefcase offers him an injection.
Tokio's Family
So Tokio has a bigger sister and a dad who seems to be very quiet. Not sure if that's their dad though, it wasn't clear. It's possible they don't have parents anymore and that guy is just an associate. Anyway, it appears that the sister pays Tokio's tuition and she's the breadwinner.
Tokio and his sister talk about Azuma. Azuma is apparently very smart, very athletic (proficient in judo and karate), girls love him, and that his dad is a big shot in the police. The sister questions why Tokio is so proud, and Tokio funnily admits that it's because he feels popular because Azuma is popular. A leech!
Vulture
I just finished re-reading Tokyo Ghoul and :re, and I was blown away by Ishida's art and story. To say I love Kaneki is an understatement. I think I'm going to love Tokio too! I also want to discuss the cover.
Tumblr media
So it appears that the cover is the Tokio with an image of a vulture. Tokio is naked and it feels like the vulture is seducing him. From here, I get the vibe that Tokio might be corrupted by the power. "It's something of an affliction" is a dead giveaway. It feels like becoming a choujin or superhuman also corrupts, in a way?
Also since, there seems to be a commentary on the negative view on vultures being scavengers or "steals prey". (Though TBH I always thought vultures wait around for the predator to finish eating and then it eats the scraps??)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the other hand, Azuma, Tokio's best friend who's mighty strong and brave (almost to a fault), is viewed as a lion by his peers. Also, an uncanny observation is the when Tokio cries about while sitting on the floor, above him is a hyena. Hyenas are known to prey on the carcasses of lions' prey.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's almost uncanny when Tokio himself says, "I can be a lion too". But Azuma makes Tokio feel better by telling him that buzzards can fly higher than any bird -- telling Tokio to focus on the strength
But even if Tokio admires Azuma, Tokio thinks of telling Azuma when he's going too far. I think this comes from a place of concern. But maybe secretly he's also jealous?
Tokio also even tells Azuma that maybe they should hold hands so Tokio can be more like Azuma, implying that Tokio wants to be like Azuma.
Praying Mantis
Just before Flexi Choujin attacks, Tokio mentions that he bought an insect guidebook and was about to say a factoid about praying mantis near water. I wonder what Tokio was about to say? A search on the internet about praying mantis and water shows this disgusting video of a parasite exiting the praying mantis leaving the mantis to die. Ew. Let's see if this is the factoid Tokio was thinking of. If so, who's the mantis and who's the parasite? Is it Azuma and Tokio, respectively? Hmm. Also, love the insect symbolism. Throwback to Kaneki's centipede!
Flexi Choujin Attack (Johnny Kiyoshi Takeyama)
Mohawk Guy, now a choujin, is a flexi monster who's now more resistant to hits. He attacks Azuma indiscriminately with his new powers. He also kinda goes crazy... His subordinates fear his super violent side, begging him to go back to his "kinda naughty mama boy self", but he ends up snapping their heads off.
For some reason 2 injections fly up into the air?! Maybe someone tossed it. Because as Tokio brought Azuma to the water and brought him back out, he sees the 2 injections. Azuma wants to use it on himself.
Tokio hesitates to have Azuma use it but Azuma insists. Tokio remembers how Azuma saved him from bullies as a kid, and they agreed that Tokio will help Azuma beat the bad guys... Tokio gets the other injection and points to himself. Azuma says Tokio can't but Tokio insists because he feels that it's the only way to stay friends with Azuma. They also promise each other that they will have no regrets over this. This is kinda alarming for me!! Let's see what it will mean in the future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But instead of both of them transforming into a powerful choujin, only Tokio transforms into one. He looks like a vulture, very beast-like. Looks even like Kaneki's Centipede! I think the other injection might have resulted in a bad/weak power, or maybe it's empty, or maybe Tokio didn't inject Azuma? But I doubt the last one. Anyway, Tokio's choujin look is amazing!
Tumblr media
Can't help but feel this scene is related to the praying mantis thing... Maybe my hunch is correct? The parasite exits the mantis when near water, which is why Tokio manages to muster up some courage on his own?
We'll see!! I'm really excited to see this develop. It will be the first manga I will be able to see from the start to finish!

Heya!! I've been recently so dang fixated on Omori content and still craving for more and I really love your writing ♡ If it's not much trouble may I request Basil paired up with a male reader where he doesn't exactly know what to do 'cause it's his first time having feelings for a guy? Thank you!!
BOOM I killed that, that was pretty smoothly written heheheh. Hope you like it!
You moved into the town and it felt off, you didn’t know why, but it did. It was a pretty quiet town and not the biggest, it felt pretty warm and cozy. However when you looked at certain houses while exploring you felt some kind of sad energy come from them.
At one point you had stood in front of one of the houses. All around the decently small house  were a bunch of flowers and plants of all kinds. How did such a cozy small house radiate such sad energy.
Well you got that answered for you when while you were staring at the house a boy about your age came outside. He was cute for sure, he has blond - greenish hair and wears a single pink flower in his hair. he wears a grey knitted tank-top over a white t-shirt, beige shorts and black shoes.
It was at that moment you realised you had been having a long staring contest with the boy and snapped out of it. “Oh! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to stare so long. I’m (y/n) (l/n) and I’m new to town. I was exploring and came upon your house and thought it looked really cozy and pretty, especially with the flowers and plants all around it!”
Basil blinked and gave a small nervous smile. “Ah! That makes sense, well I’m Basil and I live here. Welcome to the town though!” He replied.
After that encounter you two become pretty good friends. You did hear about what everybody thought that happened to Mari and helped him a bit through it. Thanks to your constant support and spending so much time with him without being turned away because of his awkwardness and general personality, he got a crush.
He didn’t know what to do. He was supposed to like girls right? But you’re clearly not a girl and these feelings won’t go away. Trust me he did upmost research on if he really liked you, he didn’t really believe his own feelings at first after all.
After clearing everything up with his feelings he still didn’t understand why, so he decided to go to Polly. Because surely she knew something about it. Polly just chuckled at him and started explaining about the LGBTQ+ community. This woman already saw that Basil was going to be different from the start, so she did research about every topic that people could think is ‘weird’.
After that though he learned two things about himself: 1. He was clearly gay, he never really had any interest in girls besides being friends with them and 2. He might be a he/they. When he told Polly that after her explanation she smiled and said she’d keep it in mind.
Silence came after. After a while Polly sighed fondly and told him. “Maybe you should confess, I’m sure it’ll go fine.”
Now don’t get me wrong, he was mortified to do that, however he trusts Polly’s judgement so he set off to your house.
When you saw him in front of the door when you opened you were afraid you two had planned something and forgot about it. See you and Basil usually planned it by text or you’d swing by his house, cause he was very shy to actually ring your doorbell.
After Basil explained that you two didn’t have anything planned, but he did want to talk to you about something important you calmed down. After all basil isn’t the one to bring very bad news like this. He is way too anxious for that, so you brought him into your house and up the stairs in your room.
Basil avoided eye contact with you more than normal, but you expected it to be because of the thing he was going to tell you.
And he did, just,,, way to fast for you to understand.
“SoIreallyreallylikeyouandIwaswonderingifyouwantedtobemyboyfriend”
“Ehhhhh”
“I’m so sorry that was so sudden!”
“I wish I could react to what you’re talking about, but ehhh I didn’t understand anything about what you just said.”
“Oh,, sorry.” He took a deep breath and tried again, this time much slower and actually comprehensible. “So I really really like you,, and I was wondering if you liked me too and we maybe could be,,, boyfriends”
You started laughing and Basil thought that this was going to be his first heartbreak, but that never happened. You didn’t know how to answer that especially after his outburst so you have him a little kiss on his forehead.
“You’re always overthinking everything. I thought I made it pretty clear I liked you too. But to answer your question fully, yes I like you too and I would love it if we would be boyfriends.”
And that’s how you two got together and Basil fainted. The second the friend group was once again reunited and Basil told them that story at a sleepover, they went apeshit and demanded to meet you immediately. It was 3 am. You got a call from an over-energized group. So you hung up and actually met them the next day.
They were cool, but everybody was surprised they never really saw you being new to town. It was something that’s for sure.
But you’re very happy with your new friends and your loving boyfriend. You promised you’d be there for him and he did the same.
Neither of you were looking to break that promise

Still doing that omori ask game? Here's some question for you to answer, if you want- =Favorite Omori side/NPC character(s)? =Favorite song(s) from the Omori OST? =Favorite boss(es)?
That last ask took me forever, so I'm only getting to this one now, sorry! I SURE AM STILL DOING THIS GAME! Might not ever stop, honestly, unless I run out of answers to give, lol.
My favorite side character/NPC would have to be Polly! We don't get to see much of her, but it's clear how much she cares for Basil, and I feel so sorry for her. She wants to be there for him, in lieu of his absent parents—to be seen as someone helpful and trustworthy—but he keeps her at a distance because he's so weighted down with fear and guilt and self-loathing, and she doesn't know about any of that, so she can only wonder if it's her fault somehow—if she's doing something wrong and driving him away. It's what makes that one "neutral" ending so much more heartbreaking because you can tell that she blames herself for not "doing enough" for him. She thinks she's failed him.
ANYway, Polly's a sweetheart and I like to think that, after the Truth came out, Basil started opening up to her and they grew a lot closer. With his parents who-knows-where and his grandma having passed away, she's all the family that Basil has left... save for his friends, of course!
Favorite song(s)... "My Time" literally came on as I started typing this, and it throws me for a loop whenever it happens (because I associate that song with so much, now) but it doesn't count, lol. "World's End Valentine" is an obvious pick, but it's a great boss theme, dammit; gets me hyped every time I hear it. "See You Tomorrow" makes me feel a lot of things, and it's like... the perfect song to help wind you down after a long, tiring day, so I love it and how it'd play as the sun set in Faraway. All versions of "A Home for Flowers" are pretty, but I love Sunflower (ha) the most because it's in that gorgeous, serene scene right before the Truth segment (and after the Something "fight", which, god), where Sunny talks to Basil at the foot of the tree and gets that last bit of encouragement he needs to finally confront what he's been running from the whole game. And it's the most "complete" version of that theme, which probably says something about Sunny's resolve and Basil's (imagined) faith in him, but I don't have the brainpower to try and go into that right now, lol. Last favorites are "Omori/Alter" because that fight is a fucking experience and not only am I slut for violins, but I love how distorted it gets the harsher Omori's words become. Downright unpleasant to the ears, but in a way that's so effective with what's being driven home.
Favorite bosses... well, Omori, going off of my last answer, for previously stated reasons but also because I love the concept of quite literally fighting yourself. Another favorite would be Space Ex-husband; I never did the Hikki route, but the song's great, and I love that you have to inflict the right emotions on him to be able to do any damage. It's a really creative use of the Emotion system! I kinda wish we got more fights like that in Headspace. Also, the church fight with Aubrey, even though it's pretty damn sad; we learn so much about her and what she's gone through in it, it really made me feel sorry for her.
