#a victoria is a horse
a victoria is a horse.
thinking about prey animal instinct victoria again.... biting and kicking and screaming and drawing blood just to stay alive. thrashing around like a cornered bird. she's so much more frightened than anyone else around her and that makes her capable of so much more violence

i love finding out what degrees my mutuals have. like what the fuck do you mean you do law? you’re a doctor who blog
#not dw#bachelor of arts w/ archaeology & celtic studies majors#did my undergrad thesis on jacobite women's material culture#& then did a masters in museum studies#i feel like i'm the opposite of what op is saying#bc all through high school i wanted to do science. vet science and then genetics.#but i started watching classic who in the last 2 years of high school. got into jamie. got into jacobite history bc of that.#ended up starting a combined arts-science degree but didn't enjoy the science part#& also wanted to do two arts majors (i wouldn't have been able to fit the celtic studies in)#so i dropped the science degree and just went for arts#obviously ended up w/ my thesis topic bc i was into that because of dr who.#& then realised from a volunteer dig that i wasn't into excavating archaeology and was like uhhhhh what am i gonna do then.#landed on doing museum studies and now here i am. posting from my job in a museum.#so uh. thank you to jamie mccrimmon for the career path you're a real one king ✌️

on the other hand i think it would be very easy for victoria to tip /into/ liking it, that instinct to lash out. especially towards the end, when she's so tired, and the whole universe feels incomprehensibly, overwhelmingly frightening. she's so powerless against it, being thrown from monster to monster, terror to terror. and it would be so, so easy for something to whisper in her ear and tell her that she never has to be frightened again, as long as she's stronger. as long as she always strikes first. she's desperate. wouldn't it feel good, to feel like she's in control? wouldn't it be a relief, to know she can keep herself safe?
and yes, maybe it chips away at her humanity a little more - but what does that matter, when she already feels like she has so little of it left?
#second doctor#idk man i'm just rotating dark victoria now.#i think she'd be easy to tempt in to something.#maybe i should pick up my post-fury fic again and tweak the ending so she goes fully feral..................

like i think fundamentally victoria is a very kind person. in her ideal world, she'd approach everything with the benefit of the doubt, and be able to solve everything through words rather than actions. but she's a terrified, traumatised teenager who is so often so far out of her depth. of course she's going to lash out first and ask questions later sometimes, even when she shouldn't. the fact that she hates it doesn't mean she's any less capable of it.

"So what you're saying is that there weren't any 'time ladies' before YOU, a red pilled alpha like myself, invented time travel. When would you say women started to forget their place in Gallifreyan society?"

"Please put me back."

the ranis needed a reality that would break. they needed it thin and weak, a reality that would not hold up to the slightest bit of scrutiny. so they chose a right-wing populist’s fantasy. amazing
