Okay so 👀 curiosity question for my fellow giffers:
Bonus points in the tags if you tell me when picking between footage variations, what file size you like to actually go with for comparison.

Uncompressed Maze Runner 4ks my beloveds <3#and my go to really depends on if I'm giffing 1080p or 4k. 1080p if I can get anything higher then 5 GB I'm celebrating#like we can't always get what we want but god 5-20 gb on 1080p footage my beloved actually#4k? um I'll take whatever I get but I'm sad if it's below 15 gb. 20+ ideally.#and if anyone is wondering why this matters - lower files size equates to more compression and compression brings quality loss#how much depends on the compression method used - technical stuff out of the way though it's really not that deep and I better not see#anyone be dicks to anyone about any answers lol (unless you're affectionately roasting me for my answer that's fine#bc I made this poll fully expecting most people aren't giffing 50+ gb movies like... I love doing it but would I rec it? NO???#IT TAKES 20+ MINUTES TO LOAD THE FOOTAGE IN MY CLIPPING PROGRAM AND CRASHES 10+ TIMES WHILE CLIPPING THE MOVIE???)#the gif output being so nice from those 50+ gb uncompressed 4ks comes at the price of your sanity ngl#mostly just wanna see how insane i am for doing this btw i'm expecting the average answers to be near the top
