I had the honour of being Tricked by the stunning @springmagpies a couple of months ago, and she challenged me to make a moodboard for a favourite fic of mine - so now, only a little (*sneezes*) late, here I am with this aesthetic inspired by my very own wife @aleksandrachaev​’s Skimmons & Fitzhunter Coffee Shop AU. 

Now, Kat is someone who likes to claim she can’t write fluff, but, gosh, reading this proves that that’s simply not true - this is one of the fluffiest, sweetest, most heart-melting and HILARIOUS pieces of pure joy (and Skimmons!!!) I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. Jemma’s crush on Skye is the most relatable thing in the world, and the way it’s all written had me squeeing and clapping my hands in glee for these two absolute, absolute CUTIES 😍😍😍 And, of course, you can never go wrong with a nice bit of sassy-sweet Fitzhunter banter in the background...

In short, this thing is FREAKING INCREDIBLE from beginning to end, and literally the perfect read if you ever need a pick-me-up and a huge smile on a rainy day. MORE than worth the title of one of my favourite fics!!! I cannot recommend it enough, to anyone and everyone with a love of Skimmons, Fitzhunter, coffee, or just good writing in general 💜☕

The fantastic @would-die-for-fitzsimmons won a Treat in my Trick or Treat of forever ago, and asked me to do one of my gushy posts about why I ship Staticquake so much. (me getting that request: 😍😍😍 best treat ever!!)

Now, at roundabout the same time, my lovely friend @agentsofcomedyandchaos teased me about how I’ve gone on so many “Staticquake is a good ship shut it haters” rants that I could practically pull out a PowerPoint presentation at this point... and, recently, that got me thinking. It’s true, I have ranted about Staticquake quite a lot, so I thought it could be super cool to do it in an entirely different way. Then came work and holiday laziness and nonsense and overall fskdfdklfdjkffd. 

Then, earlier today, I received what has to be the BEST PowerPoint of my entire life from the incredible sisters @leahdaisies and @maybebrilliant - and, well, once I had finished squeeing, that really got the ball rolling again for me.

So, Flo, here at last is your long-awaited Treat - I hope you like it, a little unconventional or no!! Love you, and thanks for playing and granting me this AMAZING treat. 😘🤗🤗🤗

In the spirit of finally finishing my Trick or Treat challenge, today I'm catching up on some Tricks that I got from my amazing mutuals - and first on the list is the incomparable @loved-the-stars-too-fondly. However many weeks (*coughs* months) ago it was, Aubrey challenged me to reblog three of my favourite creations from the AoS fandom.

Now I'm not going to lie, trying to pick out just three things was practically impossible - but, eventually, I managed to find three creations that stood out to me as super special in the crazy year of 2021. In no particular order -

This soft, fluffy Staticquake ficlet by @que-mint-tea - a cheer-up present that will bring sunshine into the rainiest of days, and melt the stoniest heart. Pure fluff and softness of Staticquake waking up together.

This stunning Fitzsimmons edit by @jemmablossom - Laura's talent truly knows no bounds, and the only word for a gifset like this one is "ART."

This insanely awesome YT edit (and accompanying fic) by @egumal - definitely one of the coolest Staticquake fix-its you'll ever have the pleasure of reading (or watching!)

Aubrey, I hope these recs make you smile, and add a little bit of a happy ✨ sparkle ✨ to your day! Love you lots, and thanks for being such an amazing, patient and endlessly supportive friend. 💜💜💜

A little reasonable okay fine ridiculously long while ago, the absolutely incredible @apathbacktoyou Tricked me in her Trick or Treat to find and rec her five fluff fics. And, like, because I know Lou, and I remember our shared attack of the Jared-19s all too well, I could say that leaving this rec so late was because I was being considerate, and waiting until the chances were a little higher that you’d actually read the things I recced. Actually, you know what, never mind, that’s what I AM saying - that was the plan all along!! It’s totally not because I’m horrifically late for everything and forgetful, too, no, of course not. Considerate, kind, and with this all planned beautifully in advance!! Yes, that’s absolutely me. :D 

me planning this rec: well lou probably isn’t going to read it, and she only said “fluff,” so I can basically rec whatever I want, right? no biggie? 

also me: *goes and searches specifically for short-ish and very sweet femslash fics with May ships because I know there’s a reasonably good chance of Lou liking those*

Ah, Lou, whether you end up reading these or not, I hope you at least get a small smile from all of this 🥺💜 Love you loads!

And now with no further ado - the recs. 

Baking Cookies by @shieldivarius - my searches for a fic you definitely haven’t read yet took me down some interesting avenues (and through the years too, LMAO) but the first thing I found and liked was this! I never even dreamed that May/Natasha would be a thing, but apparently it is, and apparently they... bake cookies? 🤣🤣😍 This one is short, sweet and pretty darn great, even if it is pretty old by fic standards. And it makes May/Natasha - Maywidow? - work so well, too, it’s really pretty awesome. I’d 100% recommend this author’s other fics for this pairing, as well!

Pink hearts are stupid (and mine is too) by @creedoftheseamstress - another rarepair for you, Lou my love! This one is May/Hill, and it’s set in a high school AU on Valentine’s day (featuring a delightful dislike of the holiday on May’s part.) It’s super sweet and fluffy, and again not too long, and I just love it so much for a ship I’ve never read before, it’s really pretty amazing xD

fun and games by @bobbimorseisbisexual - here we have two of the most badass and beautiful SHIELD ladies together, and even more badass and beautiful (with a healthy dose of hilarious, awkward and absolutely FAB.) That’s right, I’m talking about Maybobbi, and a prank war fic - and, since it’s written by the legend that is Al, it’s guaranteed to be completely fantastic. And it is exactly that.

a soft epilogue by @loved-the-stars-too-fondly - I have three words for you, and they are, Maybobbi being mothers. Specifically: Maybobbi being mothers to Robin Hinton, and an absolutely ADORABLE little OC!! 😍 This is just the softest, most ADORABLE thing, and I was grinning like an idiot right through. Super fluffy, lovely stuff, and SO well written!! Aubrey is truly a gem 💜

Carry Me ‘Til You Marry Me by circ_bamboo on AO3 - okay, this one doesn’t exactly fall under the “short and sweet” category, given that it is... *coughs* 13k words long. But, Lou. Lou. When I read its summary, I knew instantly that it just had to be on this list - because, AHHHHH, it’s the SHIELD team getting beamed up by some nice, friendly aliens, who, after seeing May and Bobbi spar, and hear that they’re not married, are so shocked that they decide to remedy the situation immediately. Which is to say: May and Bobbi get married by the resident Nice Aliens™. And, okay, maybe these aliens aren’t quite as incredible as Aza (honestly, who can be, though) but they’re still pretty cool, and this story is bloody AMAZING. I didn’t know I needed it, but I totally did, and I am STILL grinning!! Just... fantastic stuff, and I can’t recommend it enough, for anyone. But especially you, Lou - I really think you’ll love this. 💜😍

“Daisy, for the last time, this is not the Great British Bake-Off,” Bobbi groaned, burying her face in her hands and narrowly managing to avoid getting icing in her hair.  

*happy sighs* I’m just one of those people who really, really adores Daisy and Bobbi together, you know? Be it romantically, or platonically, or chaotically-and-cutely (which, let’s face it, falls into both the other categories 😝), I just think they’re the BEST. And I’m lucky enough to have an absolutely incredible friend who shares this view - @agentsofcomedyandchaos, that’s right, I’m talking about you, Julia, love. You’ve probably LONG forgotten by now, and I really can’t blame you, but you won a Treat in my Trick or Treat challenge however-many months ago it was - and now today, finally, I’m here to make it up to you. Yes, I know it’s not quite the Philindaisy tickle fic, but, hey, once we get all the Trick or Treats checked off, that’s the very next in the line!! And in the meantime, really... who’s going to complain about a bit of Morsecode? Certainly not me - and hopefully you not either, love. 😍💜 Hope you liked this tiny tease of what’s to come!

To round off my 2021 completion of my incredibly late Trick or Treats, the lovely @the-astro-ambassadors​ won a Treat from me on Treat Day and asked me to spotlight - and this is the particularly lovely part, haha - whatever I wanted. And after considering it for a bit, I decided that what I want to highlight for all you amazing people who follow me and my craziness is none other than my 100 Followers Celebration.

And, ahem, I know that it’s a slightly odd time to do it, given that I currently have... uh... well let’s just say closer to three hundred than one hundred followers (😱😱😱😍😍😍😭 I love you all SO MUCH, oh my goodness!!!!) Anyway, yes, as you can probably tell from the fact that... well the fact that it’s FEBRUARY 2021 and I am finishing a Trick or Treat challenge, I am late for everything. And this celebration, of course, is no different.

Perhaps a good place to start would be to explain what the celebration was all about? Well, luckily, that one’s pretty simple. I put out the gushy posts (and, honestly, I still get that EXACT same feeling whenever I look at my follows page 🥺💜 you are all the BEST, ahhhh!!!) 

... Oh my gosh, I’m just going to keep going off topic here about how much I love you all, aren’t I? Ahem, MAN, I need to focus. So, here’s the idea: every time I’m hit by a wave of love, I’m just going to put three lemons in parentheses, and you guys will know they mean “I ADORE YOU SO MUCH, I am so touched flattered stunned surprised moved and insanely happy by your follows/care, and right back to you’re the best people on the planet.” Cool? Cool 🤣🤣🤗

So, to try this again, third time lucky - I put out the gushy posts about having 100 followers (🍋🍋🍋) and explained how I’d like to give something back to YOU (because, guess what, 🍋🍋🍋!) So I set up three separate series, called Danny Boy & Quake, Sky’s the Limit, and Spider-Dorks, and asked you guys to send in prompts for what you’d like to see. 

Now, each of the above was aimed at a different section of my followers (🍋🍋🍋). Danny Boy & Quake, for example, is for those of you who are of the Dousy persuasion, and, like me, absolutely loved AoS season 7 and wish the show wasn’t over. So for this series, I’m taking Daisy and Sousa, and basically just... exploring where they go from where canon left us! The first fic, for example, picks up right before the One Year Later time-skip, with Sousa and Kora talking about Daisy and their relationships with her while she’s recovering post-final fight in the healing pod. Then we transition on to Daisy and Sousa bonding with Alya, Fitz, Jemma, and so on... teasing each other about ill-advised 50s haircut choices... and even ending up in the bottom of an ocean as a Fitzsimmons parallel once! 

Basically, it’s about Dousy, and the life they might have post-canon - starting their relationship properly, and the adventures they could have, and just... a SHIELD-crazy, but love-rich journey for them both. 

Next up is Sky’s the Limit, my personal favourite, and, as you may have guessed given that I’m, well, me xD, it’s Staticquake. This one is set in a post-season 2 AU where, a) Jemma never got eaten by the Monolith, and b) Lincoln joined SHIELD as Daisy’s first Secret Warrior. Lash is not a thing, and neither is the ATCU, it’s just... the SHIELD family, with some bonus sweet-babies Staticquake, being themselves, and getting to have that “what if it was all the SHIELD characters but with no life-threatening situations, just like them going shopping at Target, having karaoke nights, binge-watching shows together, and being a family in general” AU situation that the cast and fandom are always saying they’d like so much. 

The first ficlet, for example, is about Lincoln consoling Daisy post-her mom’s death and dad’s mind-wiping, and being the first person she tells about her decision to change her name. From there, we go on to Daisy teasing Fitzsimmons after their successful date, that they actually get to go on, fjslkfjdfljd. After that, we transition into full prank war mode with the whole team, and, of course, an alternate Staticquake get-together... oh, it’s going to be SO FUN. 😍

Last but definitely not least is Spider-Dorks, the series I’m writing for the Spideychelle section of my followers (🍋🍋🍋). It, too, is set in an everything-is-canon-up-until-I-say-to-keep-things-happy AU - this one follows everything that canonically happened right up to and through Spider-Man: Homecoming, but cuts off right after that. And instead of Infinity War, we now get... Peter and MJ being oblivious idiots, Ned shaking his head at them both and also shipping them really hard, and, of course, the three of them getting into all kinds of shenanigans together. 

The first ficlet, to give you an idea, is about MJ in her role as AcaDec captain confronting Peter about always missing practice, and basically being like, you can skip it if you want, just know that I’m coming to your place to quiz your ass off when you are home. And because she’s MJ, she also casually drops the bomb of “oh, and I know you’re Spider-Man...” Of course, a firm friendship develops from there, and the next thing you know, MJ and Ned are testing out Peter’s old webshooters, she’s meeting Natasha, and, because of course, Ned’s doing his very best to set up these two oblivious idiots... Oh, yes, I love this one 😝😍

Now, at this point, you may be thinking, well, gosh, look how organised she is, she’s already gotten all the fics written! or something along those lines, but, uh. While I have invested a lot of time in the planning of these series, nothing has actually been written yet, which... is why I’m here today xD. This is going to be one of my biggest projects for 2021 - writing, posting and finishing these three series. Right after I finish my (hey look, also late!!) agentsofchallenges Fluff Bingo, and try to keep up with my birthday fic writing. 

... andddd this turned into a spotlight of, hey look it’s Lily’s 2021 schedule! Oh gosh, sorry, I’m incorrigible 🙈 But the point of this entire thing is, I’m throwing a spotlight on these three series today so that anyone who’s interested can know that I am actively working on them as of this year, and if you keep a watch on my blog (and, hey, I would not complain to the occasional encouraging/yelling ask in my inbox 😝) then yes, you will see these series before the end of the year. Hopefully. Definitely!!!
