some of the reasons why you should switch to linux: (yes i know i am referring to many different distros by just linux for simplicity)

free yourself from the shackles of microsoft/apple big corporations suck (hot take i know) and the more you can do to not support them the better. these two in particular that control the vast majority of desktop OS user share are notorious for monopolistic and anti-consumer behavior. right to repair is important.

hardware restrictions are bullshit if your computer is old, chances are windows 11 or the latest version of macOS runs like ass. in fact, it might not even be able to run them (tpm 2.0 chip anyone?). if it has a BIOS, you can put linux on it and usually make things run significantly faster. also yes, you can install linux on apple silicon (its called asahi linux)

don't like it? change it. the company that sells you something shouldn't dictate how you use their product. there are a million different linux distros that are infinitely customizable. a computer is a tool that you can shape to function exactly how you want it, and linux does this better than anything else.

open source software rules kinda ties back into freeing yourself from corporate shackles... open source means that anybody can contribute their ideas or time to the project - usually for free. oss doesn't get shuttered in favor of a fancy new version or get plagued by bloating or advertisments. pretty sweet.

learn to computer real good! a large proportion of jobs these days require a level of general computer profiency, and daily driving linux is a great way to learn these skills. the age of over simplified touchscreen centric UI/UX is here and it is awful. terminal isn't scary guys it just takes time to learn...

these are just a few of the big reasons, and i will not stop preaching the wonders of linux.
