Hunting the immediate peripheries of where animals feel comfortable. Being patient. Believing in, and enjoying, the process has led to a lot of successes for me over the years with bowhunting. It is a lesson that has taken me decades to learn and re-learn. It does seem natural to just barge into the middle of all the action. However, that is the path to the dark side. .photo by @kevinkossowan . #bearkodiak #whitetailbuck #traditionalbowhunting #recurvehunting #littledeltabow #woodarrows (at Alberta, Canada) https://www.instagram.com/foodafieldpodcast/p/CY-lnlAr_m8/?utm_medium=tumblr

I wish I had a better memory. I’m not sure who took this picture. I believe @primitve? Anyway, this early 00’s buck was taken with the Little Delta Bow, a late 50’s Bear Kodiak. As I recall, this is one of the bows that accompanied Fred Bear and Glenn St. Charles on their famous Little Delta, AK hunts in the 50’s? @pacyew do you happen to recall any more information about this bow? It was a leatherwall thread that was going around 2005ish? There’s a backstory to how I came to have possession of this bow for this particular November Whitetail hunt. I did manage to tip over a decent buck while I had it. I wrote an article about the hunt that Don Thomas edited and published in @traditional.bowhunter magazine. This bow is the reason I went out of my way to purchase my current 57/58 Kodiak. . #littledeltabow (at Alberta, Canada) https://www.instagram.com/foodafieldpodcast/p/CYxfYM-rkDf/?utm_medium=tumblr
