When I was younger, I had a whole psychological assessment that said I was far, far behind my peers in all axes of social development, from basic communication skills to ability to recognize faces. However, it did say I was far ahead of most of my peers in terms of my ability to remember facts and events. I have always been proud of this fact about myself, and because of that, if I ever have trouble remembering something, I get very concerned that it may be a sign that I am losing that ability.

I will then give myself a memory test to make sure the thing I forgot was a fluke, and I can still remember most things. This test has taken many forms over the years, and for the last few months, I have been using the contestants on every season of Taskmaster as a test to see whether I can remember lists of things. It’s not a really difficult or long list of things to remember; it just takes enough work so if I can do it I’m satisfied that I haven’t completely lost my memory.

Anyway, I just had difficulty remembering the name of my boss from my first job, so I’m going to do this now without Googling anything (there’s a good chance that this will lead to the spelling being off at times). Thank you, I feel better now that I was able to do that. My OCD symptoms (I’ve been told by a psychologist that technically the time I got diagnosed with OCD was a misdiagnosis because technically my OCD symptoms come from Asperger’s and not from OCD itself so technically I have OCD symptoms but not OCD, and anyway psychology involves a lot of mostly bullshit semantics) are shouting at me to check the spelling on some of those names, but I shall resist the temptation so as to maintain the list’s integrity as something for which I did not use Google.
