It continues to confound me what precisely Cerrit's title of Guardian of the Seventh means and what the implications are. Like, what responsibilities does this entail and where does it place him in the complex social system and government of Avalir?

Bunch of things we know:

The Magisterium is concerned with magical law, including the Pact of Crown and Throne, evidenced by their library of legal resources. It comprises 380 magisters and is akin to a legislature.

The Magisterium is divided into eight bodies, each represented by a Speaker of its Throne and each of whom has a vote, per ep 2.

The Octothurge is different from the eight Thrones. Aria mentions Longbolt is possibly leaving the Octothurge for the Magisterium.

Magister Lacrytia Hollow is called "Dean of the Throne of Necromancy" exactly one time. All other times it is "Dean of the College of Necromancy", so I assume "Throne of Necromancy" was a mistake.

Micah Cormorant was Speaker of the Fourth Throne.

Guisaria Lucerid is Speaker of the Seventh Throne, per ep 2.

Cerrit, as a Sightwarden, works for the Magisterium, per ep 2.

(Sidebar, while directing Patia to report to him all she learns about Cerrit's investigation, Loras said to her, "The Magisterium does not need to be alerted as to the Sightwarden's findings." Wild.)

Cerrit is Guardian of the Seventh.

So, Cerrit's title as Guardian of the Seventh is apparently a Magisterium-related title. Presumably, it indicates he serves as a protector for specifically Magister Lucerid? I presume that every Speaker of the Throne has a corresponding Guardian, but it's unclear if all Guardians are Sightwardens.

Given that Cerrit is a check on mages against the allure of the arcane (per Travis's Q&A), I wonder if his role as Guardian is related to that, and I wonder if he actually functions as a guard against the Speaker rather than for them—perhaps without the Speaker realizing this? Who knows. I hope we find out.

Incendiary Grenade Arrow II: The explosive tip of the arrow detonates on impact. A grenade arrow can be made using any handheld grenade. Aura Goggles: Grants a bonus to saving throws with sense-dependent effects that target vision. Allow the casting of arcane sight as a spell-like ability. Quickdraw Arm Hideaway Limb: A hidden compartment in a prosthetic arm is integrated with a small weapon, allowing you to draw it as a swift action. You gain a bonus to Sleight of Hand checks to conceal items in your arm.

Technomancer: An expert at hacking the underlying structure of the universe itself. To the uninitiated, magic and technology are completely unrelated, but you know there are more correlations between the two than most suspect. Magic and technology are just tools, and when combined into one discipline, called technomancy, they can be far more powerful than one or the other on its own. You utilize tech to empower, harness, and manipulate magic, and you wield magic to augment, control, and modify technology.

Magic Hack: Spell Grenade. You can spend 1 Resolve Point to store a spell with a range of Touch in a grenade, allowing you to affect a target within the grenade’s blast radius with the spell. The grenade goes off as normal, with all of its usual effects within its blast radius.

Augmentation: Spell Cache. A permanent modification to your body allows you to store and cast additional spells once per day. You can cast a single spell into your spell cache and have it affect you continuously for 24 hours.

Magic Hack: Brain Hacker. You treat all living creatures as if they were both their original type and constructs with the technological subtype, whichever is more beneficial for you. This ability allows you to heal living creatures with spells like mending and make whole, as if they were constructs.

Technomancer Spell: Summon Junkbot. You turn a pile of technological junk into a robot that can perform basic tasks. You target inert, nonworking electronic equipment. While casting this spell, you use your magic and technological know-how to rearrange the junked parts and infuse them with energy and various skills.

Rivendell Atlantis initial impressions

I've had my Atlantis for one week now, and have taken it on one 4 hour ride and one quick overnight trip. It's my first Rivendell, and I'm very happy with it. It's the quintessential "All-Rounder", and I plan to use it for anything and everything, for a very long time.

My original order was for a Susie Longbolts, the "Hillibike". In fantasy land I ride my bike on high alpine singletrack all day long. The Hillibike would be great for that. In reality, I have little time for those kinds of grand adventures. My day to day adventures are more modest in scale. I tow my kids, ride my bike on bike paths, smooth urban singletrack, gravel roads, with at least 50% pavement. The terrain is similar to Walnut Creek. I know that if I got something with big knobby tires, then I would not be so happy on the pavement.

Will at Rivendell changed my order over to the Atlantis. He's a nice guy. The frame is a 59cm, with the rainbow double top tube. It's unique and beautiful. I had some nitpicks about details on the Susie Longbolts, but the Atlantis is Rivendell design and details at its finest.

I'm 6'1", and my PBH is 89 cm, which puts me right on the edge of fitting this bike. It's a big bike. I noticed it more when I had it fully loaded, because I have to do a roundhouse kick like Chuck Norris to get my leg over my sleeping pad that's on top of the saddle bag.

This is my first time using the saddle bag, and it has been great. I thought the thigh rubbing would bother me, but it doesn't. I do need a kickstand to tour with it though. It's no fun to dig through everything in the saddlebag while the bike is laid on it's side in the dark.

The ride is smooth and stable. I passed a group of hikers while climbing some steep singletrack, and got some comments like, "I can't believe you're riding this hill on that bike." Don't let the non racy looks deceive you, this bike climbs better than any bike I've been on, both loaded and unloaded. It reminds me of a tractor on the steep hills. Just put it in low gear, sit down, and spin.

After the 4 hour ride my body felt fine, which surprised me, given that I haven't been on a long ride in months. On any of my other bikes I've owned I would be hurting after a ride that long. I credit the relaxed position. It invites one to unwind, take in the sights, and see where those side trails lead to.
