#GoodFriday !Check- #LegendStatus is not a title to be overlooked, it's something to #cherish and it's a #label that is #earned n you're #respected for it. #RIP to #KobeTheGreat .We used say " #Kobe " back then when we'd (strategically) shoot, when we'd be off balance ah sumthin n still make the shot/make an awesome 2pointer or 3 from whatever angle, etc. You #inspired us to be #dope / #great in our own ways. + + #BallHard was the motto and actions shown. Your #QualityOfWork should be #impeccable if your head really into your shit. #DontSlack ,always #ChallengeYourself ,and #LetNiggasKnow what you made of, was what you demonstrated on n off #TheCourt .A #light we wont forget. #Shake GOD up if he decides to test you on the courts. Lol..we wont know it/cant see it yet.Lol.. #LongLiveMamba !!!! https://www.instagram.com/p/B7-6wJyhzzh/?igshid=v3lke9bvfnyb

How LeBron James, The Lakers, Vanessa Bryant & Everyone Else Celebrated #MAMBADAY!
Mamba Forever! LeBron James, the Lakers, Vanessa Bryant and more celebrated the life of NBA icon Kobe Bryant on #MambaDay (8/24). See the celebrations inside…
It’s hard to believe we lost NBA icon Kobe Bryant at the beginning of 2020. The world literally stopped when news broke that he and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant were killed in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020.
That Mamba Mentality was all in the Orlando Bubble last night when the Los Angeles Lakers went up against the Portland Trail Blazers for Game 4 in their first-round playoff series. August 24th has been declared in honor of his two jersey numbers 8 & 24. Also, Kobe would have turned 42 on 8/23.
LeBron James and the Lakers paid tribute to the franchise icon by wearing “Black Mamba” jerseys that featured a special heart patch with the #2 on it to honor Gianna.

During the game, the Lakers made a shot that took the score to 24-8 with 4:30 minutes remaining in the first quarter.

LeBron after the game the Lakers had dedicated to Kobe Bryant : "When I looked up and saw we were up 24-8, I was like, okay, he's here in the building. It’s a beautiful, beautiful night for our franchise and something we will always remember - this moment.” pic.twitter.com/Q4AekQHNjP

After the Laker’s win over the Blazers, he talked about celebrating his friend/NBA Goat and he spoke on the Jacob Blake shooting.

Before Mamba Day, Kobe’s wife, Vanessa Bryant, celebrated her husband’s birthday. He would have been 42 years old on August 23rd. She posted up a super emotional and heartbreaking tribute to her hubby that brought tears to our eyes.
“Happy birthday. I love you and miss you more than I can ever explain,” she started. “I wish you and Gigi were here to celebrate YOU! I wish I could make you your fav food or a birthday cake with my Gigi,” she wrote.
She continued, “I picture your smile and wide big welcoming hugs daily. God I miss you both so much. Our lives feel so empty without you and Gigi. I’ve been completely broken inside. As much as I want to cry, I put a smile on my face to make our daughters days shine a little brighter. I’m not the strong one, they are.”

Yesterday, Ciara and Russell Wilson linked up with Vanessa and her kids.
Seeing you and the girls smile makes my heart smile. You’re the toughest mama I know. Seeing you put one foot forward each day is admirable. It ain’t easy, but if I know one thing, Mamba Queen’s capable of it all. Love you V. #MambaDay pic.twitter.com/yxrPuAEg3n

Legends are missed, but never forgotten.
I had the pleasure of calling Kobe Bryant my friend for 20 years. Nobody, and I mean nobody, worked harder and more passionately to be great, day in and day out. As a player, as a coach, as a mentor, as a husband and as a father. pic.twitter.com/F1IxskIDyP

I've been waiting for the right time and place to touch on what Kobe meant to me.  First of all I'm from Michigan so I rooted for the Detroit Pistons.  They went up against another in the 04 Finals, where obviously the Pistons won.  But I secretly rooted for Kobe.  practiced his fadeaways, his pump fakes, his walk that he had after coming onto the floor from a timeout, and of course shouting "Kobe" when shooting a object into the trash.  He was my Idol growing up along with MJ.  Once MJ retired I remembered being like what now? I didnt think anyone could inspire me to love and enjoy the game like Mike did.  But then Kobe came along which filled that void for me.  Its crazy cause everything he did was like MJ all over again.  From the confidence, the tongue out, the skying dunks, man it was like my Love for basketball was rejuvenated.  Kobe made basketball fun again, I mean this guy was my childhood, he was my Hero, its what i grew up on, so to not have him anymore is still mindblowing.  I will never forget the day when I was at work and I was on break eating and someone came up to me and told me the news.  Of course I didnt believe it at first I just kept eating and told him not to play or joke about peoples life especially Kobes, then of course it was in the back of my mind so I went online and thats when it was confirmed.  one of the saddest days of my life.  How can someone i never knew personally or met passing hit me so hard.  It was like finding out about a family member.  Its bigger than basketball Kobe was a dad, brother, Husband, friend, mentor, and just an icon all over the world and his impact will live through alot of people especially me. And his daughter Gigi who I later found  about who was also in the helicopter along with the 7 other passengers.  Prayers to All the families affected by this tragedy.  Alot of people are still in mourning but all that he has accomplished and all that he was in the process of accomplishing will live on and me personally I promise to never let it fade.  #LongliveMamba #LongliveGiGi

The greatest laker of all time @kobebryant would go to many wars as he had the epic rivalry @lakers vs @celtics even though I am 🍀 fan. Black mamba always stepped up his game and forced @paulpierce @tic_pix @trayfour & @rajonrondo to take their game to the next level. Making them bigger than life and made the battles that much legendary. It’s wild because Rondo is a laker now!!! #ripgianna #longlivemamba🐍❤️ #ripkobe💔 #lakersnation💜💛 #gonetoosoon #wewillmissyou #neveragain #gonebutneverforgotten💔 https://www.instagram.com/p/B74OHJTpd1f/?igshid=1p6btvvcodd4q
