Maybe Luci is finally understanding what Linda was talking about. He is learning that without someone or something to care about, he's nothing but an empty void that will never be filled, no matter how many empty pleasures he tries to fill it with. And to really be able to fill it, he needs someone that cares about him too, no matter who or what he is.

People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones, Lucifer. This turned out to be quite prophetic of the Deckerstar relationship.

Not a coincidence: Marcus manages to go alone with Chloe and be the hero. Lucifer is always late...It is possible that Marcus even managed to manipulate Luci into be locked up in that freezer...

I hope these two, who care deeply about Luci, manage to help him to drag himself out of his self-made darkness.

Lucifer is so fixated on the idea of his Dad manipulating him that he can’t see Marcus doing exactly that to him. It happened to him in S2 as well, by mom. Marcus has done his homework and is using that knowledge to his own advantage. Just by some carefully spoken words, he makes Luci do stupid things, also making sure, Chloe sees the results as well.

So, the first round: ‘30 - love’ for Marcus.
