Natsu and Lucy making out sloppily outside of Lucy’s apartment and making it into her bed and being like. What’s now. None of them wants to go further but none of them wants to stop either so they just make out, feeling each other on top of their clothes and then they practically fall asleep while having their tongues in each other’s mouths. They wake up the next morning hangover and wondering why their mouths feel sore — then they both see a hickey on Lucy in the mirror when they go to brush their teeth. Faces turning red as last night catches up to them.

Fairy Tail often gets a lot of hate for over using the power of friendship trope. While they do use it a lot, every anime does in some capacity. I think what I’ve learned over the years as I got older is that Fairy Tail is about acceptance. It’s a place for people of any background to gather and regardless of where you came from, you have a place in the guild. There’s nothing normal about that guild (lol) but they embrace that.

I feel like there’s a difference between joking about the power of friendship to straight up hating on Fairy Tail because god forbid, the main characters care about their friends. If you don’t have any ride or die friends, are they truly your friends?

imagine with me: natsu and lucy, they've known each other for a couple of months when natsu and happy finally invite lucy to go fishing with them. lucy reluctantly agrees, worrying that it'll be a terrible mistake (fish hooks and two careless boys can't bode well), but she goes anyways since she doesn't have to worry about rent at the moment and it's a good bonding experience for the team.

at the river in the woods, natsu makes a fire place, explaining that they'll stay the night and then go up early to try their luck again - there's more fish in the river in the morning, he claims. lucy agrees to the impromptu camping trip, still fighting her instincts to run away before things go too wild.

to her surprise, both happy and natsu are quiet. they're very clearly competing, but they're focusing. lucy's content just observing at first, but after a couple of hours natsu and happy call a break. happy wanders off to fetch more branches for the fire, and meanwhile natsu won't give up pestering lucy about trying to cast her own line.

they end up sharing natsu's when he realises that she won't be catching any fish on her own - she doesn't throw the line right at first, doing some twist that natsu's never seen before. when he teaches her to quit doing that twist he realises she's not releasing her thumb from the line on time. then, when he's taken over the first part, he notices that she doesn't understand the sensitivity between pulling in the line and losing the fish on the hook. he has to help her through every step, eventually ending up just fishing by himself but with lucy in an embrace in front of him.

when they finally catch a fish, lucy cheers like never before - who knew how rewarding it could feel! happy comes back to a surprisingly wholesome scene - natsu squatting behind her, holding her hands through the motion of throwing the rod, acting as a (quite romantic) mentor, and happy can't help but sneak up on them with a "he liiiikes you"

i think alot of people in the nalu fandom are probably expecting a big love confession and kiss✨ from nalu when they finally confess their feelings…i just dont see this happening, or fitting either of their characters.

dont get me wrong i’d die for a nalu kiss but to think about either of them going out of their way to kiss the other, idk to me it doesnt fit their characters. natsu seems the most likely out of the two to initiate the kiss, but what would randomly lead natsu to kiss her?

i also dont think their love confession will come from one of them randomly deciding to confess their feelings, in my mind the best way for them to finally become something more than friends is through a gigantic push from an outside force.

let me explain, in the final chapter natsu tells lucy ‘we’ll be together forever’. the way i see it natsu doesnt FEEL the need to confess because, as he already belives, theyre both going to be together forever anyway so…whats the point?

i think natsu saying this will come back to bite him at some point, possibly during his final fight with ignia. i think the best way for them both to realise how much they truly love and appreciate eachother is by one or both of them being placed in a life of death situation, and i dont mean the typical fairy tail life or death situations, i mean never coming back.

if natsu were too see lucy in a true life or death situation, i believe it would cause some sort of awakening within natsu where he realises, maybe, they wont be together forever. this could cause natsu,(or lucy in a vise versa situation), to realise they truly do not see a life without the other in it, then leading to one, or both, of them outright confessing said fact during the fight, pushing their true power to save the other.

i really think the best way for hiro to begin the romantic change in nalu’s relationship is to introduce a situation like this, to cause a chain reaction in them both, leading to them realising and admitting their true feelings.

BUT, i’ll be happy with whatever. nalu are my absolute baby’s and i will be over the moon no matter how they eventually come together, to me this just makes the most sense :)💞
