Die meisten meiner Kunden wissen gar nicht, dass ich Deutsche bin, bevor sie mich das erste Mal treffen - das liegt wahrscheinlich daran, dass ich quasi nie auf deutsch poste und auch selten über mich selbst schreibe 😝 Mittlerweile ist es 5 Jahre her, dass ich nach meinem Film- und Fernsehstudium in Berlin nach Portugal gezogen bin. Kurz darauf habe ich angefangen, Hochzeiten festzuhalten - erst als Produktionsassistentin und Fotografin, dann als Kamerafrau und schließlich als eigenständige Videografin. Seit der Gründung von Andorinha Films ("andorinha" bedeutet übrigens Schwalbe auf portugiesisch 😉) erzähle ich eure Liebes- und Lebensgeschichten ganz aus eigener Hand - von der Kamera- und Tonarbeit, über die Produktion und Farbkorrektur bis hin zum finalen Schnitt mache ich alles selbst! to write by Ana Luísa Pinto [Luminous Photography] • 44/52 • • home • ‘to write’ So, I had to. I had to make my first November photo/gif about writing, didn't I? I don't even care that I'm already behind on the novel, or that I'm neck-deep in wedding edits. What I care about is the outlet that it gives me, the possibilities it creates. It's what I do with self-portraiture, only done in a way that can be more descriptive, deeper than this. I'm so lucky to get to create worlds with both cameras and typewriters. It just feels like peace and quiet. And like home. Like coming back after a long time, seeing people you love, feeling warm and fuzzy and like the world is full of possibility. It's in the small stuff, the quick pressing of hands at a family dinner or a stolen laugh amongst friends. to grow wings by Ana Luísa Pinto [Luminous Photography] • 27/52 • • wings • this photo is the recreation of one I took during my first 365, in 2010! I had wanted to go back to that photo for a while (I lost the large formats of it in an unfortunate-external-drive-disaster), and this theme was perfect for it! I'm proud of myself, this week. I had an exhausting one: I had a wedding where I was a videographer (seconding for M) for the first time (I was so nervous!), I had rehearsals, I sang at Casa d Música today, as part of a fantastic and inspiring project about music and education, I met cool people and I was just left happy, but drained. But it's sunday night and I'm still managing to post! Small victories, right? Here's to a (slightly) calmer week, now, heh? I chose to spend my #worldphotographyday in the company of friends and family, diving into the warm waters of my Douro and making sure my freckles came back in full force. I had an amazing, amazing day. But I didn't want this August 19 to go unnoticed in my posts. This picture was taken in Utö, near Stockholm, last year. It's one of many that i took that day, of that particular sunset, of the laughter and the board games and the sun that never set. And it's such a good example of all the joys that photography has brought me. I look at my work a lot, and find it obvious. Like, how doesn't everyone else see it as clearly as I do, how doesn't everyone take the exact same photo? But then I realize that it's not. It's only obvious for me, because it comes so naturally - and I imagine everybody feels the same. In the same way doctors look at a patient and know where to start, in the way painters look at their pigments and see an image, in the way sculptors look at a block of marble and see a hand. We are all born with gifts, and I believe mine is this vision. And I am blessed to be able to follow it with everything I've got, to have the support of my loved ones, and the friends I've made in the process. And then I'm blessed to have you look at my vision. I have a feeling I used to publish more details a while back. More rings, more bouquets, more dresses; the part that gives me an immense joy to photograph, but which I end up leaving forgotten in a folder, because there are no people, it's not as emotional - it does not yield as many likes, hard as it is for me to admit. But isn't it equally important, the minutia, the detail, the love that goes into the little things?
