okay i was hoping someone would pick up on that. THE TWINS!! THE!! TWINS!! i love them. we have:

And his identical twin brother, Christopher Owen Wincaster, who goes by Red.

So they are such the stereotype of identical twins in that they’re fucking inseparable little shits, BUT there’s trouble in paradise. Because Dec is such a little sweetheart and cries at animal documentaries and he’s very content with his life as it is, but Red is going through his little angsty teenage ‘ugh i want to be quirky and i rlly want to find love’ type shit lmfao, and a couple years ago, Red dyed his hair, you guessed it, red (because they’re both blonde icons naturally) because he wanted something to distinguish him from his brother, and he started going by the name Red and all that and he thought he was proper cool. BUT MY POOR BOY DEC TOOK IT REALLY PERSONAL AND SORT OF DIDN’T REALLY SAY MUCH SO WE SEE THROUGH THE SERIES AS THOSE TWO SORT OF DEAL WITH EACH OTHER AND THEIR PLACE IN THE WORLD.

But aside that little blip, they love each other to bits and are key menaces in my favourite subplot: the prank war. yes, this is a real thing i put in the one wip i’ve ever decided to take really seriously. despite all the chaotic horrible shit that goes down throughout the story, there is still a subplot of the fourteen having a prank war with each other, and the twins are the ringleaders of it. This is aided by Dec being a massive fuck off nerd and using his chemistry knowledge for evil. Like these two are SUCH troublemakers. So i explained before about how kids are recruited into Lunarth and it’s very much a ‘lunarth comes to you’ type deal because humans can’t know, but do you want to know how these two joined?

They fucking broke in.

Because from the outside, Lunarth just looks like a right proper private school in London, and one night when they were fourteen, they broke into this ancient magical establishment that had never been breached before, and they graffitied it thinking they were flipping off some posh school, just to be caught and offered a place and knowledge of the Mirrored World.

The Concept Behind This Is That The World Takes Place On A Rebel Planet Where Several 'Off-Color' Gems Reside, And Now Are Hosting A Competition With 'Off-Color' Residents To Prove They Are Just As Capable As Any Traditional Gem. It Matters Not When Or How They Gained Their 'Rebellious' Trait, What Matters Is Showcasing How They Continue To Survive And Thrive.

With Some Worldbuilding Already Explained, Introducing Lapis Lazuli!

This Lapis Has A Color Deformity Due To Having More Pyrite Inclusions In Her Gem, In Fact, So Much Of Her Gem Is These Inclusions That She Shouldn't Be Classified As A Lapis At All. Even So, While She Doesn't Wield The Traditional Water Wings Of Other Lapis Gems, Her Otherly Hydrokenesis Still Seems More Potent Than Most
