OC intros!
Thought I’d do a little intro here for my main gang of OCs now since there is already some writing for some of them on my blog. Though feel free to ignore if you want :3
For these guys I have an OG world (sort of a medieval fantasy setting where they travel together and stay in various towns/in the wild) and a modern au (that is basically a self indulgent mafia au, because I love mafia aus)
Tumblr media
Rein Vallieres
Aged around early 30's. De facto leader of the gang in the OG world, but mostly just because he's tactical and makes better plans than the rest. He grew up in a very strict, but influential family who he has left, and has been part of things in his younger years he's not too proud of. It's sort of hit or miss who from his old life he's still on good terms with, but he still has a pretty wide network of contacts to do work for or call on favours with. He's skilled with bow and arrow in the OG world and some medicinal things too.
Tumblr media
Grav Baenen
Early 40's. Similarly to Rein, he grew up in a strict family of higher standing, where he was given weapons training. Has left the family behind and is not on speaking terms with them, in fact if he were to meet someone from his family or associated with them things would probably end rather badly. Carries a big sword, which he can use but prefers not to unless absolutely necessary. Instead, he can usually intimidate himself out of a tough situation before having to use violence due to him looking very big and threatening. If stoic was a person, it would be Grav. Does he know how to deal with emotions? No! He's also the main caretaker for B.
Tumblr media
Shy O'Connell
In her early 20's somewhere. She grew up on the streets, learning to steal and survive however she could. Shy is agile and moves fast and is very energetic. She stumbled upon Rein and Grav while they were traveling together and after trying to pickpocket Grav she ended up travelling with them. Eventually she comes to see them both as family.
Tumblr media
B
My main whumpee! 18/19 years old. Spent a lot of time in captivity before being found injured and alone by Shy, Rein and Grav, who took to treating him. He can't remember much of his time before being found, not his own name or who he was with or where he's from, but has a myriad of small scars littered on his back from his previous whumper and is not a fan of blades. 'B' is a nickname given to him by Shy, which eventually stuck, and he now identifies as his name. He's quite nervous and easily startled, but also observant and curious. He eventually grows closer to all three of the others, and especially Grav who he comes to see as a sort of father figure. They dye his red hair black to avoid unnecessary attention in the OG world.
Tumblr media
Teo-
Not technically a part of this main group, but they meet him sometimes. He's just a few years older than B and very good at lying/acting/scamming people. Their first meeting involved Teo tricking B into a dangerous situation, and so Grav doesn't particularly like him. Though he has apologised to B and they've eventually become friends.
The modern/mafia au is a modern setting where Rein is the head of a prominent criminal group and Shy and Grav are his most trusted associates. They find B during a clash with human traffickers and take him in like in the OG world.

10 Anime Couples That Should Have Never Happened
https://www.cbr.com/anime-couples-that-should-have-never-happened/
Just because you can be together, doesn’t mean you should be together. The anime couples on this list are all in relationships that should have never happened. Whether they are blood related, dysfunctional, or a psychotic serial killer, these are not the one true pairing.
Many of the anime characters on the list have perfectly acceptable alternatives that they could have gone for in their respected series. The couples on the list aren’t limited to the romance genre. Be sure to check out the most toxic anime couples of all time too.
10. Natsuo Fujii and Hina Tachibana - Domestic Girlfriend
Hina Tachibana is one love interest for Natsuo Fujii from Domestic Girlfriend. Hina is Natsuo’s teacher and becomes his stepsister when Natsuo’s father remarries Hina’s mother. Hina also has a younger sister named Rui that Natsuo meets and has a one-night stand prior to Rui becoming his stepsister. While Natsuo takes interest in both his stepsisters, its Hina that takes his heart more. Hina realizes that the things she does with Natsuo are wrong and eventually leaves only leaving a letter behind. This leaves Natsuo crushed, but at least he has his other stepsister.
9. Daisuke Aoki and Rin Kokonoe – A Child’s Time
The second teacher student relationship on the list is Daisuke Aoki and Rin Kokonoe from A Child’s Time. Daisuke is a 23-year-old teacher to third grader Rin. Daisuke finds himself in precarious situations with Rin and begins to develop feelings for the 7-year-old.
As the series goes on, Daisukes feelings get stronger and he lies to himself that he sees her like a daughter. When Rin turns 16 the two become a couple.
8. Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno – Naruto
Sasuke Uchiha is a love interest for Sakura Haruno and a poor one at that. Despite giving off countless red flags, Sasuke and Sakura have a daughter that Sakura finds herself raising. Sasuke has almost gotten Sakura killed on multiple occasions and betrayed the trust of her and her friends, but still takes Sasuke back. At one point in the series Sakura ends up lying to Naruto about her feelings for Sasuke as she has completely fallen for him.
7. Kyousuke and Kirino Kousaka – My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute
Anime's token incest couple, Kyousuke and Kirino Kousaka, are blood related siblings.
When Kyousuke finds out that his little sister is into little sister eroge his life begins to change. Going on a series of adventures for Kirino, Kyousuke starts to fall for Kirino. As a tsundere, Kirino can’t admit that she has feelings back, but feels the same way. The two date for part of the series but break up. Being apart they realize how much they really mean to each other. Kyousuke even gets kicked out of his house by his parents for the feels he has for his younger sister. At the end of the series, the two get married for the experience, but decide it’s best if they stay siblings.
6. Mugi Awaya and Hanabi Yasuraoka – Scum’s Wish
Hanabi Yasuraoka is in love with her teacher and childhood friend Narumi, but knows she can’t be with him. Mugi Awaya is in love with his music teacher Akane but is played by her. Hanabi and Mugi date each other at the start of the series for convenience. They both want to be with other people. The two don’t really love each other landing them on the list. To make matters worse for them Narumi and Akane end up getting married.
5. Nana Komatsu and Takumi Ichinose – Nana
Nana Komatsu, also known as Hachi, is in a relationship with Takumi Ichinose, the leader of the band Trapnest. Takumi is a player that has been known to go through woman very quickly. However, it’s different between him and Hachi. Takumi comes across as he is in love with Hachi, not wanting her to leave his side. Hachi can’t decide whether she wants to be with Takumi or Nobu a guitarist she became friends with prior.
When Hachi realises she’s pregnant, she is unsure who the father is. Due to Takumi’s position in a famous band she decides he is better fit despite who’s really the father. Takumi doesn’t stray from his old antics cheating on Hachi multiple times.
4. Yukiteru Amano and Yuno – Future Diary
Where do I start with these two? Yukiteru Amano, known as Yukki and Yuno Gasai are caught up in a battle royale death game. Yuno Gasai is a yandere, meaning she is infatuated with Yukki and has homicidal tendencies to anyone that takes interest in him. Yuno has a secret that she doesn’t want Yukki to know. She’s hiding the two corpses of her parents in her closet that she starved to death and a third corpse of herself in an altered world. Yuno doesn’t want Yukki to know about her secret in fear that Yukki will never love her. Thank you Yuno, for showing us that pink hair is a red flag in anime.
3. Subaru Natsuki and Emilia – Re:Zero: Starting Life in Another World
“I love Emilia”, echoes through the mind of everyone who felt Suburu Natsuki should have accepted Rem’s confession. While nothing is inherently wrong with Emilia, the way Suburu rejected Rem’s feelings was heartbreaking and landed him on this list. With Re:Zero being confirmed for a second season Rem fans will look to see if she shoots her shot a second time.
2. Louise Francoise Le Blanc de La Valliere and Saito Hiraga – The Familiar of Zero
A toxic relationship is never good and whether its ironic or not Louise Francoise Le Blanc de La Valliere and Saito Hiraga just aren’t working. Getting called names, whipped, beaten, and even starved, Saito is constantly abused throughout The Familiar of Zero. Saito endures Louise’s torment for no apparent reason. Her magic isn’t great and she is constantly abusing him even when he does the right thing.
1. Makoto Itou and Kotonoha Katsura - School Days
Easily one of the worst couples in all of anime, Makoto Itou and Kotonoha Katsura are the ideal couple on how not to be in a relationship. Arguably, any pairing with Makoto in School Days can be considered awful but Kotonoha makes this list. Throwing a whole group of terrible people together and having them compete for love was not a good recipe. Jealousy, vengeance, manipulation, homicide, domestic violence, the list goes on and on.

APINK - I'M SO SICK
[6.67]
Seven years into its career, K-pop group makes its Jukebox debut...
Alex Clifton: Have we finally found the successor to the Wonder Girls' Reboot? I think we have, and I couldn't be happier about it. I love disco and chilled synths and stuff that ends on a minor chord so I have the compulsion to play it again, so this hits literally all my pop buttons. This is so different from Apink's previous material -- I remember them as catchy but almost sickeningly cutesy -- so I am really excited to see how they follow this one up. [8]
Joshua Minsoo Kim: I'd readily argue that Apink peaked in their debut year, with "I Don't Know" and "My My" fleshing out their cutesy shtick enough during a time when SNSD had moved into more "serious" territories. The following year, they climbed higher on the charts with the markedly different "Hush," but it was "Bubibu" that foretold their future. To be certain, Apink's success is in large part due to their consistent sound and image -- one that has sustained itself through K-pop's overt sexualization (ca. 2013) and numerous genre trends. While a smart strategy, it's been hard to care about their output for much of their career. Given the ubiquity of cutesy girl groups as of late, and how I've even heard their type of music in South Korea's CCM scene, a shift in style feels more welcome than ever. The group enlists Black Eyed Pilseung to do the job, and it's immediately clear that this is not another "Only One." "I'm sick of lying, you gotta know that" is uttered with a soft, pained tone; it stands in stark contrast to the doe-eyed oppa-isms that Yookyung used to spout, and prepares the listener for the dancefloor catharsis that follows. Musically, this very much sounds like a tastefully tropified version of "Hush," and its chilly synths bring to mind other 2012 K-pop songs. Six years ago, a version of "I'm So Sick" would've sounded a bit too T-ara-esque, preventing listeners from feeling how muted every synth wobble and vocal sample is. And that's ultimately the song's biggest asset: the instrumentation feels dull despite all the flash, highlighting the numbness that's spoken of in the lyrics. [6]
Alfred Soto: "I'm So Happy" more like -- the synths and vocals signify as pure euphoria. [7]
Julian de Valliere: "I'm So Sick" starts off sounding like a statement of strength -- only to swiftly crack and reveal itself as the tears-on-the-dance-floor banger it truly is. One of my favourite aspects of these types of tunes -- and something which this track in particular does exceptionally well -- is the recognition that no matter how desperately bad your life situation may be, the world rarely affords you time to sit in your feelings. So now you're trapped in a sweaty club with a bestie who's too drunk to be attentive, a song playing has triggered a very specific memory that you were hoping not to deal with, and you can suddenly feel a grand concoction of fizzy emotions sloshing round your chest -- seconds away from rushing up to your head and bursting right out. Apink too, are struggling with the pressure to stay moving while the wound's still raw -- and while the defiance initially put on display makes for a fun time, the ensuing chaos feels far more real, and "I'm So Sick" is all the more beautiful for it. [9]
Anjy Ou: As the singers struggle with the conflicting demands of heart and head, the production moves from melancholy synth-pop to defiant disco and dance-your-tears-away EDM, drawing connecting lines between the genres. It's kind of brilliant, to be honest. Apink has never failed to deliver on the vocals, and they sound effortless here. Maybe not a banger, but definitely a bop. I hope the group continues to explore new sounds and expand their range because they're clearly capable of more than they've shown us in the past. [7]
Katherine St Asaph: Reaction trajectory: wholehearted approval of the intro, especially the traded-off vocal runs; most audible of groans when the trop-pop came in; relief, somehow, when it turned into a 2011 Calvin Harris breakdown; pleasant surprise at the '90s R&B glissando and skidding car in the bridge, or the music dropping out for a whispered "do you love me?" [6]
Will Rivitz: If we're going to be pulling from genres that have been out of pop vogue for at least a decade or two, I'd have preferred nu-metal. [5]
Jessica Doyle: #ConfessYourUnpopularOpinions, APink Edition: "Five" is (1) underrated and (2) more of a precedent for "I'm So Sick" than the videos and styling for each would lead you to believe. (Witness APink refusing to take this concept any more seriously than they took any of the previous ones.) So I'm less inclined to give this new song points solely for breaking APink out of the cutesy dungeon. Or, for that matter, shrug off my experience of the pre-chorus: I can't tell if it's my headphones or my hearing or the mixing or what, but it seems like after the relative spare setting of Naeun's and Chorong's lines, we have a deeper beat kick in, plus a rising synth, plus an unlocated oooh, all trying to build momentum, while Namjoo, who is also trying to build momentum, can hardly be heard at all, and Hayoung, with an additional squelch to deal with and a line that ends four beats before it should, doesn't fare much better. The result is a bit of a mess. So even with Most Formidable Leader getting far more mileage out of "himdeuro himdeuro himdeuro baby" than would have previously been considered possible, I'm unsatisfied. [5]
Anna Suiter: Apink has been known for a consistent sound, and in general it's worked for them. But this works too for a group that's seven years in and don't need to prove much anymore. Maybe they aren't "sick" of promoting, but they are a little sick of love, here, and they make that more convincing than maybe anyone was expecting. [7]
