The manga series The Electric Tale of Pikachu was drawn and written by a goddamn hentai artist and yet it serves as a more interesting and varied alternate universe to the main anime than M20 does. Hell, I can’t even remember Ash ever abusing his pokémon in that series! He drools over Gary’s older sister, Daisy, and he and Misty get in more tiffs, but is he verbally abusive to Pikachu? Not that I can recall. Granted, it has been years since I read that manga, so perhaps I’m forgetting something, but I sure as hell remember it with a lot more fondness than I regard M20.

Mmhm. Okay. Sounds fake, but OK.

There was also another interview that I can’t be fussed to dig up now where he talked about how he wanted to “purify” the first episode, meaning that he intentionally kept almost everything the same with the exception of removing Misty, and changing Ash and Pikachu’s reactions to each other so that they were more . . . well, pure, I guess. Marshadow approaches Ash that night and asks him for help. To get help though, he’ll have to go somewhere far away. We see something that could look like the wormhole the ultra beasts came from, and maybe Ash sees a glimpse of them. I don’t know, I’m writing this on the fly. Marshadow gives Ash a warning not to get lost though.

Ash wakes up really confused, in the body of his younger self without the memories (something went wrong when he was sent to this place). So he goes about his day like normal. He doesn’t have a confrontation with Gary in front of Professor Oak’s, and Ash feels weird, not knowing why he thinks Gary should be there.

So here we actually have him going throughout the story of his first day as a pokemon trainer, and after the Spearow thing, he pulls himself out of a river thinking that something is really wrong, that something else should be there. Maybe he mentions wishing he had a bike or something.

Ash sees Ho-oh and gets a rainbow feather, and things seem to be good, but he can’t see Marshadow for some reason anymore and keeps going forward on his journey. He doesn’t go to Pewter City or Cerulean City at all. For some reason he thinks they’re important enough to leave until the end.

He hears about an Entei and meets Makoto and Soji still. They’re all going to find Entei together. He sees Makoto’s Piplup though and for some reason wants to call her ‘Dawn’ and doesn’t know why because he doesn’t know a Dawn. It really bothers him though. The Lucario also brings memories and this could be a reference to the Lucario Movie, Cameron, Korrina or any other Lucario/Lucario trainer that impacted him.

Soji mentions his desire to meet the three Legendary Beats and Ash knows he has something important to do with Ho-Oh so he wants to see it. They go ahead to try and find it. Marshadow keeps trying to talk to Ash to get him to get out of this other universe he’s in but it’s not working.

Someone else wants to meet Ho-oh too and follows them. Maybe some sort of evil Team Rocket replacements or something, adding to Ash’s wtf this is weird it doesn’t make sense what is happening’ feeling because it shouldn’t be these people following him. They battle them and Ash even feels wrong with his Charizard evolving the way he did because he remembers something about an Aerodactyl.

These evil guys want control over Ho-oh so maybe they use the technology that’s already established in the show to try and control pokemon to attack them to steal the Rainbow Feather. Ash ‘sacrifices’ himself to save Pikachu, who pleads (in pikaspeak and not fucking Japanese/English) for Ash to wake up. Ash’s mind is somewhere else, lost between worlds and lives, seeing his forgotten friends (like an afterlife thing). Pikachu’s tears (cause bring back the poketears fight me) somehow ‘activates’ the feather because it’s not just about bringing it to a specific place. Ho-oh brings Ash back and Ash can finally hear Marshadow again.

He remembers now about his friends and goes back home with the rainbow feather, which Marshadow wanted to call Ho-oh to bring back  maybe another Marshadow that died (maybe implying that something happened with ultra beasts to set up a future movie too).

Why did they have to go to this other place to get a rainbow wing? I dunno. Give me a break I’m writing this very quickly the actual writers had months to plan while using this so-called spoilers.

Anyway, in the end, the character cameos are Ash actually communicating with his friends (or implying he did) because he saw a life without them (well…at least without Gary as a major player and without Misty and Brock) and he does not like it.

That includes Team Rocket. He thanks them. They’re confused. The fourth wall is broken at some point or another due to their confusion. The end.

You were so happy for movie 20 , you new misty and brock wont be in it . Why be mad who cares its a retelling of the story

First of all, I tried to figure out why Misty and Brock weren’t in it. I did a whole theory and I stuck to it for a while, I thought that the first part was gonna be the first episode, but then it would do a time skip and that’s why Misty and Brock weren’t in it, because they’d be off doing they’re own thing. And I was hoping they would be in it in SOME way, but no, they’re brushed off to the side for people who have had no significance to the anime whatsoever. I’ve explained this NUMEROUS times, but I guess I’ll do it again. Without Brock, Misty, Tracey, May, Max, Dawn, Iris, Cilan, Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, and now Lillie, Lana, Mallow, Kiawe, and Sophocles, Ash would not be who he is today. So much of his character has been brought out through these companions. I’ll admit I don’t like all of them, but there’s no denying the fact that they were essential to the anime. So in this big project that’s supposed to celebrate Ash’s journey from the very beginning and all the fun times he and Pikachu had, why on Earth did they completely change the story and make it off-canon. I’m beyond mad that the characters they spent years developing are just being pushed to the side for people who have had no significance in the anime whatsoever. Even this Cross dude! They’re saying that Ash now got Charmander from him? And he had an Incineroar this whole time? NO!!! Ash got Charmander from a guy named Damian (in Japanese his name is Daisuke), and Charmander wasn’t even the first Pokémon he got after Pikachu!!! It was Caterpie (which is the only one shown in the movie besides Charmander), then Pidgeotto, then Bulbasaur, and THEN he got Charmander! The fact that they’re completely rewriting what happened over these past 20 years is bullshit. They have a cannon storyline, they have so many wonderful characters that we all grew up with, that unfortunately now the current generation of ten year olds will never get to meet because Pokeani rewrote the story. It’s a huge slap in the face to the characters, and I’m beyond pissed. The fact they’re being treated so poorly is awful.
