So Nix did at first willing joined Sammy. In a sense. And it’s kinda hard to encompass all the reasons why he’s staying. He’s very complex in that manner.

But at first? Necessity and familiarity.

Sammy took a liking to him because Nix seemed familiar to him. He offered him safety if he joined his cult. Nix was at his lowest point (well, at the time). Alone. Afraid. Miserable.

So he joined at the chance of safety and someone who could protect him.

some of you dont understand that the issue with generative ai isnt that it creates art ""without soul"" its that it uses as its base art made by other people to create anything. Generative AI cannot generate anything without an input and that input is the issue. Its using your work without your permission to put out something, and then someone can decide to profit off of it.

And not to mention the harm it does for the enviroment, thats a whole other topic.

The fight against AI art is not that we are humans and therefore better, its the consent behind the input the AI is getting to create its prompts, and the later use of those generated prompts by megacorporations to skip the process of hiring an artist who knows what theyre doing.

Describing art as art can only be made with a soul devaluates the meaning behind creating art for the sake of creating and feeling happy with yourself. Art doesn't need to be meaningful to be important, it doesn't need to be grandiose to be worth defending.

Like, be against AI. But make your point make sense

bwah okay its not that much different from canon. they were still a deep space colonization fleet but in this au their mission was technically a success

seeds established an research outpost on no mans land to study the planet and test it for potential permanent habitation in the future. basically the fall doesnt happen. or at least not when and how it does in canon

vash and nai were born when seeds began constructing proper long term facilities on the surface

2 years later the research facilities have turned into small cities, terraforming projects kicked into gear and a decent human population was slowly being woken up from cold sleep. the colonization mission for this fleet was deemed a success

the twins were part of a project testing independent plant capabilities and the utility potential of reality bending (the ability to both power and control machines and expanding the storage capacity of small fast aircraft for transportation efficiency), later named project gemini in their honor. during that time the jets g-01 and g-02 and their prototype engines were constructed

at some point nai found detailed info on the project and noticed the discrepancy in their unit numbers, their engines being numbered 02 and 03 in the blueprints. more digging led to the discovery of tesla and her fate as an integrated part of the fleets onboard ai, knives went mad and began plotting the downfall of humanity. over a few weeks he secretly gained control over the local aircraft fleet and one of the production lines and launched an assault on the main ships in orbit

the one man war against seeds (and poor vash, who was caught in the crossfire, not wanting to fight either of them and trying to stop them from fighting each other) lasts a few decades and only ceases when nai shoots his brother out of the sky by accident

by then little was left of the original seeds project, losing the battle in the end. the sky and desert are a graveyard of ships and aircraft a century later. most of humanity doesnt remember the project or know what happened. a majority of the population abandoned seeds and fled the facilities to establish their own settlements during the war

and thats the deal with seeds! i think? did it explain anything? i got so caught up in writing this that i wrote down some of the early plot dhgfjhdfg

every time i see people act like character.ai and other ai art sites are two completely different concepts it makes me laugh because like. that site is basically if not actually identical to a fanfiction ai model that rips from the works of countless writers . just because you can input your own personalities and backstories now doesn't mean the bots aren't based on the work of pre-existing writers 😭 it's all still ai generated . not to be the fun police or anything but i think we should be more mindful of the fact that it's literally still ai art by definition and you are feeding the ai model by using it for x reader scenarios!!! like idk. i wish we lived in an era where commissioning/requesting fics was still widely popular so people didn't see a need to use ai sites

writing another hero of courage has me thinking about a lot of things that I never actually gave any thought to for the xenoblade 1 universe.

like washing machines. Do they have them? is it even on their radar? like, I know people wash their clothes in the nearby rivers and what not, but in the more developed areas like colony 9 and colony 6 (after reconstruction or even prior to the events of xc1) would they have ether powered washing machines? Because they have massive weaponry powered by ether, why wouldn't they have washing and drying machines?

Anyways, Its making me think about things too deeply.

You said that the player (Henry probably, it's been a long time since I touched BATIM community) Will happen to meet Nix in the chapter 2, so how does Nix react to the player, and will he be ally to the player or something, like him trying to give some clues about what happened in the studio??

some of you are so lost in the ai panic that you've lost sight of reasoning in favor of destroying a perceived threat that you are the ones actively making the art scene worse for artists. the amount of artists ive seen harassed because a stranger "clocked" their works as ai even when theyve had the same style for years beforehand or at least a very traceable pattern of progression and the amount of artists ive seen deterred from creating something for fear of it being too close to an ai-like art concept that they end up harassed about it is unforgivable. you cannot be claiming you are anti ai art for its impact on artists & their job prospects and then turn around and destroy the very community you claim to care for. some of you are just excited to have an "acceptable" outlet to be mean and it shows
