Adria Airways d.o.o. (formerly Inex-Adria Aviopromet and later Inex-Adria Airways) was the flag carrier of Slovenia, operating scheduled and charter services to European destinations. The company's head office was at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport in Zgornji Brnik, Cerklje na Gorenjskem, near Ljubljana. The airline was founded in March 1961 as Adria Aviopromet. In December 1968, Adria merged with the Serbian company InterExport based in Belgrade and changed its name to Inex-Adria Aviopromet (Inex-Adria Airways). Began a period of modernisation of the fleet, which allowed Adria to increase its share on the tourist flights market. In 1969, the first jet aircraft was purchased, a McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30 with 115 seats. In September 1969 the first scheduled service was established on the Ljubljana-Belgrade route.

Adria Airways d.o.o. (formerly Inex-Adria Aviopromet and later Inex-Adria Airways) was the flag carrier of Slovenia, operating scheduled and charter services to European destinations. The company's head office was at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport in Zgornji Brnik, Cerklje na Gorenjskem, near Ljubljana. The airline was founded in March 1961 as Adria Aviopromet. In December 1968, Adria merged with the Serbian company InterExport based in Belgrade and changed its name to Inex-Adria Aviopromet (Inex-Adria Airways). The airlines entered the 1980s as a respectable company with confirmed success on the tourist market and scheduled internal flights. In May 1981 Adria purchased three new McDonnell Douglas DC-9-80 aircraft. In 1986, Adria left the Inex Group, becoming an independent company and changing its name to Adria Airways.

JAT Airways was the national flag carrier and largest airline of Yugoslavia and later Serbia and Montenegro. Founded in 1927 as Aeroput, the airline ceased operations during World War II. After resuming flights in 1947, the airline was renamed Jugoslovenski Aerotransport (JAT) on 1 April 1947. JAT and their predecessors were one of the oldest airlines still in operation. Flight operations were based at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. The first McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32 entered the company's fleet in 1969. On August 8, 2003, the airline was renamed Jat Airways.

Hawaiian Airlines is the largest operator of commercial flights to and from the U.S. state of Hawaii. It is the tenth-largest commercial airline in the United States, and is based at Honolulu, Hawaii. The airline operates its main hub at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport on the island of Oʻahu and a secondary hub out of Kahului Airport on the island of Maui. Hawaiian Airlines operates flights to Asia, American Samoa, Australia, French Polynesia, Hawaii, New Zealand, and the United States mainland. Hawaiian Airlines is owned by Hawaiian Holdings, Inc. Inter-Island Airways, the forerunner of the airline which is now known as Hawaiian Airlines, was incorporated on January 30, 1929. Scheduled service began on November 11 from Honolulu to Hilo. From 1973 on, the airline's logo featured the face of Miss Hawaii 1964, Leina'ala Drummond, who had been a flight attendant with the airline.
