Andrew was making fun of me last night because he says I always come up with the weirdest things that don’t make sense for curling because I had #BabyYoda sunglasses for the team 😂 Apparently I’m slacking because I didn’t bring any goats with me last night. This was a German themed event that I planned to use to help promote 610 & the 2023 Curling Cares Calendar so it’s definitely not 🐐 or Swedish related. Yes, I do have 2 German bears for props too 🐻 What I really need to get is a German beer stein. . . My friends and I dressed up in Baby Yoda onesies to cheer on Team Germany during draw 2 of the 2022 Worlds & I had a poster that said Sixten Yoda Man, hence the Baby Yoda sunglasses. I need to come up w/ something for the rest of my Germans similar to how Team Edin are my Icevengers, but for now it’s #SixtenYodaMan I can’t wait to find out which month Sixten will be (please let it be April 🙏🤞 ) and what the promo code is so I can order calendars. I finally got to wear some of my new German gear on the ice at @curlsandiego tonight. Wore my Sutor Heritage Collection jersey from @DynastyCurling and my Totzek jacket from @foxglide to go w/ my other set of #earrings from @prairiewindsdesign I think I like these German #curlingearrings more than the other set I wore to dance rehearsal last night, but both are cool. . . I didn’t succeed at avoiding sweeping tonight. My body was so beat up from dance last night & swimming this morning that I needed a nap, which made me about 10 minutes late to the pickup game so I couldn’t play skip. I ended up trading places w/ Clyde who was playing vice for Rene who was visiting from Palm Springs (originally from Moosejaw, SK). We had quite a battle - stole 1 in the 8the end to tie. Honestly, we should’ve won that game despite having 2 women on our team, but we had a disastrous 6th end where instead of scoring 3 or 4, we gave up a steal. Almost got it all back in the 7th end - we tried to split the top rock for 3 but it was an inch or two short. Similar to dance (not an ambi-turner), I can really only sweep to the right of the thrower (I’ve been skipping for years now so I never really sweep unless it’s near/in the house) so I tried to force myself to sweep on the left side tonight. I’ll need a lot of work and practice for sure when it comes to sweeping and playing front-end for @curlingpilipinas My draw weight tonight was probably the best it’s been all year especially on arena ice. Good to know I can dial the bombs down. There’s hope for me developing a draw game in the future. Now if I can only set up guards perfectly and make tick shots…. I got my new set of #earrings from @prairiewindsdesigns and I couldn’t wait to wear them so I’m wearing them to the dance studio tonight.
