Ten years ago, it may have seemed like climate change denial was an ordinary, if not misinformed, opinion shared among loads of people. Nowadays, with climate disasters plaguing most everywhere in the world, it’s not so practical to live in denial. As of September 2021, only one in every 10 Americans thinks climate change isn’t happening, but around three out of every four believes it is. 

Of course, some leaders still hold on to the constantly debunked idea that climate change isn’t happening. But businesses, even fossil fuel ones, are changing their tune ever so slightly.

Vor kurzem erhielt ich ja die tolle Buchbox von "Whisper of Sins - Kristallblut" von der lieben Juliane Maibach (auf Instagram unter julianemaibach_autorin zu finden) und zwischenzeitlich bin ich mit dem eBook dazu auch schon durch (jep, ich konnte es nicht abwarten und habe mir vorher noch das eBook geholt^^).

Eine kleine Rezension auf dem großen A war schnell geschrieben und soviel vorab: Ich fand das Buch einfach toll und schließe mich somit den vielen positiven Rezensionen dort an:

"Liebe einfach alles an diesem Buch, das den Auftakt einer mehrbändigen Reihe darstellt.

Der Schreibstil ist wunderbar flüssig, die Geschichte nimmt langsam an Fahrt auf und gipfelt in einem ziemlichen Cliffhanger und die Charaktere sind greifbar, sehr sympathisch und teilweise recht geheimnisvoll. Auch der Humor kommt in der Geschichte nicht zu kurz. 😊

Habe in den lesefreien Stunden des Tages oft an das Buch gedacht und mich jedes Mal gefreut, wieder in die Geschichte eintauchen zu können, weshalb ich auch nicht lange dafür gebraucht habe.

Nicht mein erstes Buch von Juliane Maibach und bestimmt nicht mein letztes; volle fünf Sterne." ❤️🌞

On August 30, 1980, a free concert took place on the "Platz der Republik" in front of the "Reichstagsgebäude" in West Berlin with estimated 175,000 spectators. . Greenwashing is everywhere—from buying clothes to taking vacations to offsetting carbon footprints by planting trees. But it very much exists for once-climate denying industries, especially fossil fuels.

For example, Chevron may have set some goals for minimizing emissions, but the vast majority of its footprint comes from scope 3 emissions (all of the emissions associated with making and delivering a product) which isn’t addressed anywhere in its climate goals. Instead of accounting for emissions associated with oil and gas, according to environmental law group Client Earth, the company “will develop a renewable energy business, invest in ‘low-carbon technologies’ and sell offsets ‘to our customers around the world to help them achieve their own lower-carbon goals.‘ ” Still, Chevron’s shiny advertisements and rampant use of the terms net-zero and sustainable fuels don’t give the slightest clue that it hasn’t revealed how, or even if it plans to, move away from fossil fuels.

A similarly concerning trend is “wokewashing,” where corporations pose as champions for people of color and women through advertisements. Exxon’s ad, which centers around the story of an immigrant from India who now works for the fossil fuel giant, is one example.  

“Big oil companies now spend a lot of money to convince us that they are dealing with the problem, although their claims are highly misleading,” says Maibach. “They have large advertising and PR budgets which they use to convince us that they are responsible actors who are working to solve climate change.”

Gestüt Maibach- From the heart of Lower-Saxony into the world.

The stud is located in Westernfelde, Lower Saxony, Germany. For almost 100 year the stud is in hand of the Maibach Family and home to quality Hanoverian Horses for all areas of english riding.

The good quality and ride ability of Maibach horses was firstly proofed in 1962, when stud owner and dressage rider Hannes Maibach was able to qualify for the World Equestrian Games on the back of his homebred mare "Octaviana", who later influenced the dressage focused broodline.

Nowerday the stud is more known for being home to show jumper Joshua Maibach and his horses. The junior Manager of the stable, is not just a good rider, but also a dexterous business man.

In 2018 Hannes and Joshua Maibach founded "Maibach International" a training center and auction house for sport horses and ponies just 10 minutes away from the actual stud. Here everyone is able to find his new companion.

Thank you so much for reading this. I can't wait to get started again and give my rpg a revival. Just yesterday I was able to play sims 3 again, you might all have heard of the issues Mac owners had with Sims and EA lately, but that's not the topic here. I restarted as I started writing my bachelor thesis in Business Administration about horse breeding in Germany and its success abroad. Of cause I found myself reading several articles about horse breeding, the history behind it and even common strategies in improving stud lines. Especially the last point got me! I felt like i wanted to dream again, be creative around the topic and writing stories about the people and horses, who life on such a big stud. I was sad to see that the possibilities of RPG declined as I love coming back to this comfortable place when ever i need a time off of university or other areas of life and just want to relax. So here I am at tumblr now, hoping to get in touch with other fellow rpg players and enjoy my own little renaissance.
