Don't let his dark demeanor fool you. Yamai is actually a big softie inside. Bit of a romantic himself, you can easily find him daydreaming about what was and what could've been.

The last of the boys to likely initiate this game, mostly as a cute means to get closer to you. He'll say something like "Hey, remember that game all the kids used to play back in high school? Wonder if anyone still does that..." Uses strawberry pocky because he thinks it's cuter that way somehow.

Tianyou Zhao

Doesn't initiate but wouldn't turn down the opportunity to try it. After the first time, literally everytime you buy pocky, he'll be like "Ah, are we playing that again?" just to get a flustered reaction out of you. Also the type of guy to hold a piece of pocky dangling out of his mouth at you to tease you. He's a silly head.

Joon-Gi Han

The concept is lost on him, at least verbally and conceptually. Does not understand why you don't just kiss normally and eat the pocky normally. It isn't until he's physically giving it a try that he's like "Oh... I get it".

Justice for emo Daigo, I will not lie to you I miss his silly emo phase. He's still emo at heart to me...

Once Daigo became chairman, he kind of knew instinctively he would have to make some wardrobe changes. It wasn't like his mom came in and told him what's what, he just sort of made a mental note that he probably couldn't just waltz around in a puffy coat and chains anymore.

Shockingly, the jewelry was the part he struggled with. Losing the jacket or slicking his hair back just came with general practice, although some days if he was particularly tired, he might forget to take care of his hair before going to his office...

Speaking of hair, it did take some time for him to really find a look he enjoyed. Sometimes you would catch him in the bathroom just messing around with his hair, cocking his head at his own reflection in the mirror before grumbling and putting his hair another way instead.

Even after getting a suit that's custom tailored to fit him, Daigo has never felt 100% comfortable wearing it. Something about it always feels a little stiff to him, and you can kind of tell. He seems to tense up his shoulders more when he's wearing the suit versus any other outfit of his.

Having said, you did notice that he stopped slouching as much since he started dressing nicer and working as the chairman. Maybe it's just him playing the part, but you have to admit he looks a little regal...

You'll catch him occassionally rumaging through his old jewelry pile, fiddling with the necklaces and rings. He does miss having a particular style so he's never thrown them out.

In the first week of him taking on this new job, he will be asking you on the daily what you think of his look. It's less of a confidence issue but more of him genuinely asking if he looks like a dweeb or if he's dressing in a way that's actually totally stupid and he just doesn't know it.

Having said that, don't baby or coddle him. If his tie is crooked, please tell him or he'll realize it later and be like "Did it look like that all day?!" and give himself flack for looking goofy.

The facial hair is the only thing that stayed the same. He was never one to let that get messy anyways.

Hands sweaty moms spaghetti, he is. Nervous wreck long before he actually works his way up to confessing. The thought of having a crush on you is enough to make him sweat.

Is he asking Adachi and Nanba for advice? Yes. Is he taking it? Hell nah, it just makes him more stressed. Feels like his head is spinning after hearing all they had to say.

In the end, he just quite literally spills the beans after hanging out with you and once he starts he just cannot seem to stop! Ironic given how hard it was for him to start in the first place.

Nanba Yu: "Hey, look, I get it if you don't feel the same way but I just wanted you to know... you're really special to me."

It's ironic that he gives Ichiban dating advice given that Nanba has been a bachelor for quite some time. He's also pretty calculated and takes into careful consideration whether or not a relationship would even be viable so if he's confessing, it's quite serious.

Might consult with Ichiban or Adachi about it but mostly keeps it close to his chest. Good at hiding it in front of you so it might feel like it's coming out of nowhere but trust me, it's been on his mind for a while.

He's pretty candid and straightforward. Through the years, he's learned beating around the bush gets you nowhere. He'll likely just pull you aside, no fancy date or hangout required, and just tell you privately how he feels.

Adachi Koichi: "You really changed my life, you know that? Thank you."

With Adachi, it's less of a confession and more of an appreciation of who you are. At his age and given his track record, he's kind of resigned to living the single life and the older he gets, the less he gets his hopes up for things to get serious.

Having said that, he does still want to stress just how impactful you've been on his life. Like Ichiban does with all his friends, Adachi feels you deserve your praises to be sung.

It's not something he really plans on. He'll just blurt it out in the middle of any old conversation, maybe at a bar. If you ask him for clarification or to elaborate, that's where he starts choking up. Be nice to him.

Mukoda Saeko: "Ah, you know I wouldn't normally say this but... I like you, heh."

Little miss independent will not confess easily, let me tell you. She's got an awful lot on her plate right now and potentially changing the situation between you two is not necessarily low priority but more so another thing she doesn't need to stress about.

Honestly, you may have to get her a bit drunk for this to come out. Or at the very least, she may feel she needs a touch of liquid courage to get it all out there.

Saeko keeps it short and sweet. Ironically, despite her bold personality, she gets super shy after and insists you don't give her an answer until you've had time to think it over.

Tianyou Zhao: "Ahh, you've really gone and turned my life upside down, you know? But that's okay. I like that about you."

Sly as ever, Zhao is similar to Saeko in that it takes a lot to get him to confess. Only difference is he's more perceptive than Saeko. He can sniff out pretty quick how you feel about him.

Having said that, chances of him confessing are greatly increased if he thinks or knows you would reciprocate. His playful side gets in the way though as it becomes a cat and mouse game of who gives in first: you or him.

When it eventually turns out to be him, it'll be a cute little planned event that he's meticulously thought out. He'll close his restaurant for the night and invite you over for a special private dinner with a menu inspired by all your favorite things.

Joon-Gi Han: "I don't know, I just... I always get this way when I'm with you... will you just stay with me? For a little bit?"

Our poor baby boy Joonie bun is inexperienced in the ways of confessing. He understands having a crush and love as a concept but lack of personal experience means he's navigating all new terrority. Please forgive his blunders.

Unfortunately, Seonhee proves to be little help in these matters. Although she has more in depth observations of situations between you two, even she cannot determine for Joon-Gi if reciprocation is guaranteed.

More likely than not, he'll just start blurting out his feelings during a moment where his guard is down. Half of it boils down to he just can't keep it to himself anymore and partially that he feels he's being dishonest the longer he keeps it to himself.

ok ok ok ok ok ok hear me out.... fem civillian reader stuck in a love PENTAGON with kiryu, daigo, majima, akiyama and saejima (am I crazy? Not at all) and hear me out! They all seem to get along as a group as they keep finding excuses to stay with her, they also do bicker alot with eachothers or try to steal her away for some time (none of them admit their crush to her tho), only ganging up when someone's bothering her. For some reason, Kiryu always manages to steal the show from his friends. (Oh my God I'm so sorry this is getting out of hand)

PLEASE this is so funny to me, I have been sitting on this ask for MONTHS now thinking about it. I am so sorry it took me so long but I finally have the goods, so here ya go!

First of all, the boys generally always do get along. This group dynamic is always fun to hangout with. Of course, YOU know who they are and their professions, etc. It was kind of scary at first; chances are, it was Akiyama that introduced you to the gang, as he's the only civillian there anyways.

Even though Akiyama was the one who started all this, you're pretty much equally close to all of them, the exception maybe being Daigo as he's the quietest and works the most. Chances are you just don't see him as regularly as the others.

You see Majima and Saejima the most and usually at the same time since the two tend to travel as a pair. They also bicker and tease each other (and you) the most. They're really into picking you up and carrying you around (Saejima IS better at this, by the way).

Kiryu and Daigo are more a mixed bag; sometimes you see them alone and sometimes they show up as a group since they work together. Both are always very kind and gentle around you but Daigo is the most noticeably shy at first. However, ironically he's the one that opens up the most around you as time goes on.

Akiyama is the first to notice that the other boys seem to like you as more than friends. He NEVER mentions this to you directly but he does love to stir the pot and ask you what you think of the other guys. He sometimes teases the guys as well, but only when you're not around. Mostly because he's fully aware he's had a crush on you for a while now and he can't blow his cover... but he also totally wants to sniff out how you're feeling or how they're feeling.

Kiryu is the hardest one to detect, man's stoic as hell. Honestly, he'll be the last one to realize he has a crush on you. Most of the time he's like "What? This is just how I am..." only to fully realize much much later that he is in fact only this way with you specifically and therefore you're really special to him.

Majima's the most likely to get physical with you but not in a sexual or uncomfortable way. He's a hugger for sure, which only makes Saejima and Daigo jealous in particular. Leans his head on your shoulder a lot too. Generally speaking, he's good at getting into close proximity with you.

Majima and Saejima compete the most. Very much "anything you can do, I can do better" deal which is hilarious for you and Akiyama to watch especially. There's been a couple times where the two of them bit off more than they can chew in a drinking challenge or something like that.

Akiyama teases them about it often, which only makes the three of them bicker more. Bickering just makes Daigo kind of shake his head or he'll try to make them make peace with each other which only makes them bicker with him, and so it goes on and on to your amusement.

Leave it to Kiryu to, whether he knows it or not, use these moments to get closer to you. He'll kind of just sigh and say something like "Ah, they're at it again, aren't they..." and joke about it with you. It isn't until the other four are done having their little tussle that they realize you'd spent the whole time just talking to Kiryu instead.

No one gets upset about it, although Majima might make some comment about Kiryu hogging your attention. It's always a little strange seeing some of the top brass of the Tojo Clan making a fuss over you; after all, you don't think you're all THAT special. Problem is, you are, very much so, to all five of them!

When it comes to drinking, it always goes one of two ways: Zhao gets drunk and you have to babysit him or you get drunk and he has to babysit you. Don't ask me how it happens, it just always turns out this way. One of you just goes balls to the wall hard and the other just...watches.

First of all, if you're too drunk to walk, you're getting carried around piggyback style. He could call a cab, and might if you guys are far from home, but he'd rather just hoof it himself and have you fall asleep on his back than deal with you getting sick in a car.

Alas, he cannot help but tease you a bit when he sees how drunk you are. Will poke your cheeks teasingly and point out how red your face has suddenly gotten. Says that he thinks you've had enough just to see your drunken reaction.

Having said that, he does know when to cut you off. Once he does, he's like a strict mother. No matter how you beg, you shan't be having another drink on his watch!

If you're a loud or talkative drunk, he just nods and giggles his way through it, which probably only makes you louder. If you're a sleepy drunk, his job is super easy: he just picks you up and takes you home the second you start nodding off.

He will not force you to drink water but he'll definitely make some smartass remarks about how it's your funeral if you don't and how next morning will be hell. Ironic considering he doesn't take his own advice when he's the one drunk off his rocker.

The one thing he is not good at helping you with is if you throw up. He knows it's not your fault and it happens but he cannot help but get the ick, so to speak. He's like "Ahhhchaaa, I can't believe I'm doing this" as he's cleaning up while you're totally knocked out.

Definitely the type of guy to tuck you into bed, getting you all dressed into your jammies. He'll put your shoes and dirty laundry away and plug your phone in, all that jazz.

Tea first thing next morning is a must. It's good for you dammit, he says.

Since he's a divorced man, he's not super eager to jump back into the dating scene. He didn't really come to terms with his divorce until he met Ichiban, at which point he's been out of the game for so long that he may as well be entirely new to it.

One thing that does motivate him in a romantic sense is that he has a newly ignited drive to do better and be better than he was before. He can't guarantee you much but you know he will be putting in the effort. 110% or nothing for our Tomi.

Not full blown awkward like Ichiban is but he does have a shy side to him. Things like compliments make him break eye contact or awkwardly rub the back of his head. He says things like "Haha, well I'm glad one of us thinks I'm cool... heh."

He doesn't really hate himself, he just isn't sure yet if he's someone that's really worthy of a long term relationship. Definitely in a gotta-love-myself-before-loving-someone-else stage of his life.

When it comes to confessing, it's 50/50 with Tomi. Genuinely could go either way, I will say he is incredibly patient and can bide his time so he won't be in a big hurry to just blurt out his feelings.

Dates with Tomi are simple but thoughtful. He isn't made of money but he'll take you somewhere that most people won't know about. Good conversationalist too, very easy to just chill and vibe with.

Yes, he does volunteer to drive you literally any and everywhere whenever you have to do something. Doesn't matter if it's down the block. It's partially that it's an excuse to see you but also that he is somewhat paranoid about something bad happening somehow.

In longer term relationships, Tomi is actually quite domestic. Pretty clean and good at maintaining an organized space. Please do not ask him to cook though, he'll do that thing where a fire shoots up out of the pan and scare the shit out of himself.

In bed, Tomi leans more towards being a bottom, although he wouldn't say it's enough to the point he could label himself as one fully. Pretty gentle lover as a whole, hasn't got any kinks. Do not ask him to hit or degrade you, he will not do it.

Tallest, widest shoulder man in the entire onsen... Seriously, it doesn't matter how far he sinks into the water, his head and shoulders are just fully sticking out. Man's the size of a building.

As a date, the two of you get a lot of stares, especially from the staff, because Saejima is such a burly guy by comparison. It looks like a giant guy walking around behind some small, unassuming person who doesn't know there's a giant muscular guy right behind them.

The vibe is very much that Saejima looks dark and stormy but is actually a little sunshine on the inside. Always very polite with staff. He does have to ask for extra towels a lot, he usually needs at least 2 to dry off from a basic shower so... you do the math.

Quite a traditionalist, has his own little routine. Nothing like a traditional Japanese meal after a hot bath at the onsen, especially with fresh ingredients. Man's living the life out here, honestly!

As much as Saejima would just love to get spicy with you, he's kind of shy, funnily enough. It's one thing if you two are sharing a room for the night, in which case he'll be popping off but while the two of you are busy soaking in the water, he'll just kind of go red in the face thinking about what you might be doing on the other side of the fence, since an onsen is typically separated by gender.

If it's particularly empty at the onsen, he'll talk to you through the fencing. Might even talk dirty to you if he's feeling brave. His deep voice can drive you crazy, even if he's a little flustered himself.

Regardless, you WILL be getting pounded in the room after a good soak, the two of you aren't getting all hot and steamy in them baths to not put it to good use! Hope you're ready.

Always offers three things when you're down: food, a drink of water, or a tissue. The hug is not offered because it's a requirement. Dr. Ichiban's orders.

One of the best listeners ever. If you need to rant and just pour your heart out, Ichiban could sit and listen to you for hours, never once tearing his attention away from you.

His weakness when it comes to comforting you is giving advice. Sometimes the way he gives advice sounds confusing or uncharacterisically blunt, but really Ichiban just speaks his mind. He will never go so far as to tell you what to do but he will say what he would do if he was in your position.

One note: if you cry, chances are he will too. He's just empathetic like that.

At the end of the day, Ichiban's priority is to make sure you're ok. He doesn't pry for details but always offers to hear you out, leaving the door open for you to walk through at any time.
