Make 9 2023

We all know a make9 is more of a hopes and dreams and inspiration going into the new year than it is actual plans. But it gives you something to look forward to don’t it? So here we go.

Julia Hjärtvärmare by Maria Gustafsson One of those projects that have come with me from 2022. I have the yarn for it, I’ve even spun for it. It’s been ready to go for almost a year now. But... One of the first steps is to cast on 567 (actual number) stitches and euhm... Yeah. That’s more than a little daunting.

Poet Socks by Sari Nordlund I usually don’t put things as socks or mittens or hats on this. The small projects will happen when they happen anyway. But Poet Socks are something of an undertaking. Really they represent a whole list of more complex knitted socks (both lace, structure and stranded) I have that I’d like to knit. Last Socktober I really went sock crazy and I’m still kind of on that high. Ofc the craziness was more that I found and dreamed of knitting all these socks. A week or two into October Arjin got sick and all my energy was diverted to that. So I never got the chance to knit all the socks. One day.

Martall by Maja Karlsson I might’ve been gifted Maja’s newest book, Koftor, this past holiday. There’s several cardigans from that book that I want to knit. But on the top of the list is Martall. I’m partial to the round yoke and simple, sensible cardigans. (And I love the lore surrounding Martallar). I also have a hole in my wardrobe for a long one. Had for a while. Had a lot of plans for one, but never gotten around to it. So in a way, Martall represents that need. Maybe it ends up being a neon rainbow on black as have been on the drawing board before. Or maybe a modified Harvest (tincanknits) in hand-dyed, handspun. We’ll see.

Vintersol by Jennifer Steingass This is where the yarn for my former plan for the Maja Cardigan will go. I have a few of Steingass’ patterns (who doesn’t? They’re all gorgeous), but this is the only one of them that uses this weight of yarn. I’ll probably also want to knit it as a cardigan/jacket (because I don’t tend to wear this thick sweaters) and I’ll knit it flat. Stranded knitting on the purl side really isn’t that difficult. Not when you hold both strands in the left hand. (Or two in the left and one in the right as a few of the rounds in this is three strands). There also isn’t that much colorwork in this sweater, so it fits. I’ve already swatched for it, it’s gonna be really pretty. This’ll also go into Garnhärvan Podcast’s knitalong #ghdrömmenkal because if I don’t start now I’ll never start.

I Dina Händer Skirt by Emma Josefsson The picture here is of my shawl from the same pattern. I plan to modify it to knit into a skirt. I’ll probably end up either putting buttons down the front or grafting it together in the end. I’ve yet to make up my mind. It’ll go more towards greens and autumn orange/red and such, but in the same yarn (Alpe form Järbo). Cuz I’ve used the heck out of that shawl and the fabric is really nice at a looser gauge. I only have one knitted skirt and I use it pretty much all the time. It’d be nice to have something to change it out with.

Silva by Ivar Asplund This had been with me since last year. I now own the yarn for it. Only waiting for my 3mm needles to be free.

Goldfern by Jennifer Steingass I will not give up on a handspun Goldfern. It will happen I tell you!

Suolaulu by Jenna Kostet I was also gifted Jenna’s newest book Knitted Kalevala for the holidays. (And let me tell you it’s been difficult to not fill this entire make9 with knits from either books I’ve been gifted! The more I read them, the more of the patterns I wanna make...) I want to knit like five of the patterns in it already. But Suolaulu is in the top spot (the original sweater, not the yoked version). A really magical book in it’s own right, on top of the stunning patterns. And I’ve yet to decide if I want to do the dropped shoulder or if I’ll do a plain round yoke like I know fits me. I imagine a dropped shoulder would create a lot of bulk under the arm? I’m not sure if that’s true but we’ll see I suppose.

Batgirl Crop-Top Hoodie by Me And lastly, the batgirl hoodie. I still dream about this sweater. A thin, light fabric in the heather colorway from Rauma (Finull). The hood will drape nicely over my head or shoulders (the bat ears is another problem I haven’t solved yet but we’ll get there) and the sleeves will be tight and long (maybe even with a thumb hole?). And since it’s cropped it’ll be perfect to wear over tight tees indoors. I need this in my wardrobe!

My 2023 Make 9

Mostly home projects planned for next year, with a couple small crafty things. Some are already in progress, and some I don’t yet have much of a vision for.

Dining Room Set: obviously working on this one already, but here’s a mock-up of what the total vision is.

Office Shelves: also started on this one, though I haven’t been able to work on it in a while. It’s a big project with at least a couple more months work to go

Trespasser Bust: I really wanna make this for the 10th anniversary

Bathroom Walls: A little glimpse at what I’ve got planned for the bathroom. I want to fully renovate this space eventually, but all I can afford is paint atm

There may not be much crafting on the garage but it is a project that needs to be done

Sweeney Todd Scarf: Using this pattern for one of Eleven’s scarves that I always wanted to knit

I haven’t decided on a color yet for this bathroom but I do want to get it painted

Roman Shades for the sunroom that will probably take more time/money than I think they will

A magical lamp for my magical craft room

Thành phần này đã giúp lột bỏ các tế bào chết trên da đồng thời dưỡng ẩm cho da. Đồng thời bạn cần phải nhớ chọn kem dưỡng ẩm nào có chứa chống nắng SPF để bảo vệ cho làn da an toàn trước tác hại của tia cực tím.

Ngoài ra, bạn tuyệt đối không được sử dụng các sản phẩm có mùi hương và tránh xa kem dưỡng có phần như acid alpha-hydroxy, acid glycolic, acid retinoic và acid salicylic.

Da dầu lại càng cần dưỡng ẩm bởi làn da này chỉ thừa dâu chứ không bị thiếu nước và vẫn có bóng nhờn. Để việc dưỡng ẩm hiệu quả lại, bạn nên chọn kem dưỡng ẩm chứa nước, chứa axit alpha hydroxy hữu cơ gốc như axit lactic hoặc axit glycolic. Ngoài ra, panthenol. glycerin đã là thành phần giữ ẩm thiết yếu. Tuyệt đối không chọn những sản phẩm chứa dầu, lanolin, hoặc vitamin E để tránh tình trạng tắc lỗ chân lông gây bóng nhờn.

#makenine2019 summary. This was some of my plans for 2019, I made some, didn’t make others and made lots of other things that were not in this plan, but I’m constantly making new plans and coming up with new ideas. Make 9 2022

I think maybe I picked these patterns for a reason. So let’s review shall we?

Grusvägar by Stine HoelgaardJohansen Was a pleasure to knit. So much fun with something happening on each row. Knitted in by Permin’s Esther. It’s pretty, it’s comfortable, it’s very wearable. Only thing is the sleeves are too wide, and I might actually rip those out halfway and take them in more aggressively than I did.

Majas Mamelucker Leggings by Maja Karlsson (aka the Lilly Pond Leggings) Still a work in progress. I started these relatively recently. They’ve also been put on hold, because I thought I was knitting them too small. But after blocking and testing I’m on the fence. Also, I decided against following Maja’s pattern at all and winged it on my very own. So they probably shouldn’t be under this name any more. But anyway.

Maja Cardigan by Hélène Magnússon Man I’ve struggled with this cardigan. At first because Lettlopi is friggin’ rare right now. And has been for the last few years. And when I finally managed to get the amounts and colors I wanted, and swatched them together, I didn’t like it. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what I had in mind. So I put it away until I could get hold of some other colors. That happened to be now, last December (2022). For reference: I started planning this cardigan sometime in March 2021. You’d think I would be excited to finally start this thing. But... No. I swatched again. Didn’t like the borders except for the middle big one. So I changed those out. Swatched again. But it still wasn’t working. At this point I had to ask myself: I’ve changed almost everything about this cardigan, from the way I’ll knit it to the colors and the borders and everything. Do I really want to knit it? There’s so many other sweaters and cardigans I’d like to knit more than this. So, long story long, I changed my mind. The yarn will get a new home in some other project.

Maia Summer Top by Belly Helms I knit it, I love it. It was fun (if a little arduous) to knit. Partly because of the yarn (slippery and thing) and partly because that’s a lot of pattern to follow. You gotta keep your tongue in your mouth at all times. But I love the outcome. I’ve worn it a bunch. I’ll wear it a bunch more. Also, pattern was just the way I like patterns to be. More like a recipe. Highly recommend. Aurelia Tee by Anna Strandberg Honestly, I’ve almost started this a hundred times. I bought the yarn. But what stopped me was my experience with how much dye the yarn would bleed in the wash after. It’s the same as the Grusvägar Slipover. Esther by Permin. And while that was fine with that particular sweater, since it’s only one color. This one would be two. And not anywhere near each other on the colorwheel. So I felt I needed to wash the yarn properly before knitting. And boy was that a hurdle to get over. Since they come in balls, I had to ofc first make them into skeins. And yeah... that’s a lot of yarn to skein. And then wash. In two separate baths, and... yeah, you can only hear why I haven’t started this yet. But now the yarn has had a bath and is ready to go. But a thin tee isn’t what you wanna knit in the middle of winter. So I’ll await warmer weather!

Silva by Ivar Asplund I’ve bought the yarn. But why is every project ever on needles 3mm? They’re never free. Still looking forward to this though. Ivar Asplund’s patterns are usually really well written and laid out. And for little me who haven’t done much braids before, I might need it.

Goldfern by Jennifer Steingass I’m still spinning for this. I had hoped to finish at this (last’s) year’s Tour de Fleece. But I didn’t. And I burned out hard on spinning last summer. So it’s been on the backburner for a while now.

Slipoverlinne by Anna Bauer I’m almost all done with this one. Winter themed and everything. Was a lot of fun to design all the borders and I might’ve put way too much effort into it. Fun to knit too. Only now I only have the last two border on the back left, and the armholes and the neckhole. ... ... Yep. I’m out of yarn.

Batgirl Crop-Top Hoodie by Me I still really want this. The cropped wool sweater is pretty much the perfect thing to wear when you’re a little cold but not cold cold. And I really need a couple more of them. This just hasn’t happened because other stuff have taken the first place in the que and I haven’t even bought the yarn for it yet. It’ll come with me on my make9 for next year though ^^

Congratulations on making it all the way through this! This is mostly for myself, so I can go back and see what’s happened with my knitting and such. It’s a little bit like journaling, right? Getting all the thoughts out there and freeing up space in my brain for next year’s projects!
