Today in monochromatic makeup looks: sour as a lemon yellow. As in all the monochromatic looks I’m doing, every product used (except my foundation, concealer, powder, and mascara) is yellow. Hokay, folks: honesty time. This is the color I feared, and the one I loathed even before beginning this series. Yellow is a great color, bright and cheerful and attention-grabbing... and in cosmetics I hate it. It is fine to have around for a blend, I use it in certain color sets and specific looks without complaint, it has a valid and most useful place in chromatic expression; it just doesn’t really suit my complexion, and using it as the single color in a whole face is simply ugh. Also I had to cheat a little: my only choices for eyeliner and lips were both gold, and while the bright white-gold works on the eyes, this orange-ish color of gold does not suit my lips AT ALL. In this pic, I’m only about half as exhausted as I appear - the other half is trying to keep my eyes from watering in the wind, which I failed miserably at. Next up in series is orange, which will also be hard but not atrocious yay! And here comes another celebrity inspired look and this time it's my favorite character @albafloresoficial from the series @money_heist . As we all know the series @lacasadepapel (@money_heist ) has taken all the attention from their viewers on Netflix and without a shadow of a doubt, this series kept me hooked all day and night. @albafloresoficial aka "Nairobi" is my favourite in the series because she is bold and fearless and I always admired bold and fearless women. Therefore I decided to recreate this look because I loved the way she carried this bold eyemakeup look with so much pride and confidence. Today in monochromatic makeup looks: orange you glad it’s not yellow? As in all the monochromatic looks I’m doing, every product used (except my foundation, concealer, and mascara) is orange. Wow, friends! This look turned out awesome! For those of you who tuned in, I did this look live on FB last Saturday. Sorry my phone ran out of batteries and the feed died! It was definitely a learning experience but I had a lot of fun doing it and if you watched and enjoyed it, let me know and I’ll do it again this upcoming Saturday. Orange is a color that I love, although I rarely wear it in clothing; I think it suits my coloring quite well (especially with blue hair,) although if this wasn’t a monochrome challenge, I would have jazzed this look up with purple or maybe blue. I know it’s been an epoch since you’ve seen my face but I still exist, I promise! And like a month+ ago I saw a fascinating video on YouTube (in the comment below, go watch it!) about the color brown and that inspired me to do an all-brown monochrome makeup look. I decided to make this the start of a series of monochrome makeup looks. By saying that out loud, I have to keep going; to be honest, I started the series then stalled out, so I need to get it moving again and putting on the internet will be the motivation I need. More honestly-not-shocking-news, the majority of the time my motivation tank is completely dry... so it’s time to trick my brain and hack a solution. My new normal!
