Testing, testing, what do you think of the progress being made on our #wyvern #hatchling?? There’s been a few unexpected stumbling blocks getting this prototype put together (isn’t that always the way? 🤣), but I wanted to share a sneak peak of the armature test. He still needs to be fully painted, stuffed, and detailed....plus he’s still missing a wing 😅 But as soon as the prototype is fully finished, we’ll be opening pre-orders for these little dudes! So keep an eye out for those next week. The release date is currently set for this coming Tuesday, but may get pushed back to Thursday or Friday. He hated the idea that people would try to read LOTR and a 1:1 allegory. HOWEVER, it’s CLEAR that his faith was an integral part of Middle Earth, and while you can’t read it as an allegorical story (like Chronicles of Narnia, Lucy is the Everyman, Aslan is Jesus, The Great Emperor Over the Sea is God the Father, etc etc) it’s disingenuous to act as though his VERY Catholic understanding of Christ (and the baptized in Christ!)’s roles as priest, prophet, and king aren’t present in some form or another in Gandalf, Frodo, and Aragorn, in their own different ways.

hey man, as someone with a graduate degree in english lit whose honours diss and grad diss were on tolkien, i have read 100% of everything tolkien ever wrote, and 90% of all literature about him and his work, and i promise you that the man himself would be extremely offended by you arguing that he put jesus in middle-earth. like in fact he did talk about that explicitly and was reputedly very annoyed by catholics imposing their limited worldview on his extensively researched scholarly work

Literally Aragon, Frodo, and Gandalf were all Christ figures and whoever told you otherwise lied to you or didn't actually know what they were talking about
