I Can Only Imagine...
We often think of creation - forests and oceans, tornados and earthquakes, lions, tigers, and bears - as wild and untamed compared with normal life. And we’re not wrong. When God placed Adam into the world he had made, even before that world fell into disorder through sin, he charged the man “to work it and keep it” (Genesis 2:15). Part of how humanity images God, then, is by bringing purpose and order to a feral world.
Look closer, however, or perhaps deeper, and we see that creation is not as wild as we typically imagine. Through the fall, Paul tells us, “the creation was subjected to futility” and suffers in “bondage to corruption” (Romans 8:20–21). It’s unfenced and yet now enslaved. It’s untamed and yet trapped. The wonders God has made are held back and smothered by sin. Even the deepest, most dangerous oceans are anchored and weighed down by the curse. Even the strongest, healthiest lions are weak and sick with judgment. Even the most brilliant sunsets are shadows of what they might be.
Of what they will be. One day soon, God will make all we know unmistakably new. Have you learned to long, and pray, for the wonders of a better world to come...
Imagine, for a moment, whatever you love about this world finally being set free and freshly charged with the glory of God.
What might the shores along O‘ahu look like glorified? What about the endless fields of tulips in the Netherlands? How beautifully might a choir of nightingales sing? Will we get to listen to rain fall and thunder roll without ever wondering what damage might be done? What might a Southern Californian orange taste like, right off the tree? How much sweeter will fresh strawberries be? Can you begin to smell the rose gardens, brighter than ever and stripped of their thorns? Can you see yourself canoeing glorified rivers, climbing glorified trails, biking through glorified fields, sitting beside glorified lakes? How soon will it all stop feeling like some wild, impossible dream?
Outside of Scripture, no one has whet my appetite for the new creation more than Randy Alcorn has. He says, “To get a picture of Heaven - which will one day be centered on the New Earth - you don’t need to look up at the clouds; you simply need to look around you and imagine what all this would be like without sin and death and suffering and corruption” (Heaven, 17). Do you ever do that? Few things are more lethal to worldliness than to imagine what this world might really be like when it sheds the curse, when God washes the oil spill from his painting and breathes it into new life.
And the light animating it all will be the nail-scarred, once-dead man on the throne. At the center will be the Lion of Judah, roaring over every mile and creature, the Lamb of God, slain to make it all possible and beautiful. John Piper writes,
“We will never forget that every sight, every sound, every fragrance, every touch, and every taste in the new world was purchased by Christ for his undeserving people. This world - with all its joy - cost him his life. Every pleasure of every kind will intensify our thankfulness and love for Jesus.” (Providence, 687)

Boracay often locally shortened to bora, is a resort island in the western Visayas region of the Philippines. Boracay island is located 0.8 kilometers off the northwest coast of Panay, with a population of 37,802 in the year of 2020 Boracay was originally inhabited by the Tumandok and Ati people. Boracay is famous for being one of the world's top destinations for relaxation aside of its boasting white sand beaches. Before the Spanish colonization of the Philippines in the 16th century, Boracay was populated by the Ati and Tomandok people. It was known as Buracay, Buracay had a population of one hundred people before the Spanish colonization, they cultivated rice on the island and augmented their income by raising goats. Boracay was previously part of the province of Capiz it was under the jurisdiction of the town of Buruanga until the municipality of Malay was established on June 17, 1949, the Municipality as well as the island became part of Aklan, which became an independent province on April 25, 1956. Negrito people also called the Ati people, spoke the Philippine language called Inati.
Boracay transportation is via motor tricycles and electric tricycles or e-trikes along the main road. Pedicabs also known as sikads in Boracay are also available along the beachfront Path. Other transportation includes mounting bikes, quad bikes, and motorbikes, all of which can be rented as of 2018, the municipal government of Malay was encouraging motorcycle operators to transition to e-trikes in their coordinated efforts to promote environment-friendly public transportation. Here are the Do's and Don'ts in Boracay island, first do your research, second bring enough cash with you, and third mind the environment. And their don'ts are, don't drink tap water, don't smoke or drink alcohol near the beach, and lastly don't leave your things unattended. These are some of their Do's and Don'ts for you to remember. If you're talking about the weather, in Boracay there are two seasonal weather patterns known locally as the Amihan and Habagat seasons. The Amihan season is characterized by moderate temperatures and the Habagat season, is characterized by hot and humid weather, frequently heavy rain. Boracay will be in the Amihan weather pattern from sometime in October to sometime in March and the Habagat weather pattern for the remainder of the year.
The expenses of Boracay Island are not that expensive if you are traveling as a family of three or four people, the price person often goes down because kids' tickets are cheaper and hotel rooms can longer be shared. The average hotel price in Boracay for a couple is Php 44,101, a vacation for one week usually costs around Php 22,051 for one person. But first, you should have booked your accommodation before your trip, because Boracay has a "no booking, no entry". Boracay offers a variety of budget-friendly restaurants. Eating local restaurants on the island will cost you around Php 150 to 200 a meal, instead of visiting 5-star restaurants why not take advantage of eating at D Talipapa for fresh seafood at reasonable prices? There are a lot of activities to try when you are in Boracay you could even try parasailing, banana boat riding, and helmet diving activities for only Php 2,000. But if island hopping is at the top of your list you can try an island tour with another guest for only Php 600-800, when shopping for souvenirs D'Mall is the place to visit. Boracay is one of the best places on Earth to visit without going bankrupt. Experiencing the way you imagine a paradise with beautiful sunsets, sand, and the beach is worth every peso you spend.
Top 7 famous delicacies in Boracay Aklan, first is Binakol, which is an Aklan dish made of chicken that is stemmed with some of its delicious juice cooked over flaming charcoal inside a bamboo container. Second is Inuburan, a chicken dish cooked with coconut milk and pieces of banana pith. Third is Tinu-om, a common Aklan dish called Tinu-om consists of sliced native chicken that has been layered with chopped garlic, ginger, white onions, lemon grass, and tomatoes. The remaining ingredients are tightly wrapped in banana leaves. Next is Linapay the aklanon version of "laing" Linapay consists of small shrimps that have been pounded and are cooked in coconut milk with tender "bat wan" fruit, garlic, onion, gender, and chilies. Also part of the 7 famous delicacies is Inday Inday, Inday Inday is similar to the patilaw, this dessert is made with sticky rice flour(malagkit) cooked in hot water and topped with bukayo, which is gelatinous coconut meat simmered in water with muscovado sugar and coconut milk. Also, Latik is one of the famous delicacies, it is a must-try food in Boracay. And lastly Eangkuga, Eangkuga despite its peculiar name is similar to ginataang bilo-bilo. This delicacy is made of bilo-bilo (glutinous rice balls) banana pieces of camote and shredded young coconut meat, it is cooked in coconut milk and muscovado sugar.
Boracay activities in new year's a celebration by the sea where there are sand castle  competitions. Ati-atihan fiesta the celebration of the catholic region of the Philippines is celebrated every  do's of January. Different groups and put paint on their faces and wear different designs of costumes. There are more activities and celebration like, Boracay International Funboard Cup, Sand lantern festival, boracay international dragon both festivals, and  Yapak Fiesta and lastly, Boracay Food Festival which are the celebrations that you can't miss in Boracay Island.

Jonah's Fruit Shake at Station 1, Boracay, Malay, Aklan
Tumblr media
Jonah's Fruit Shake is one of the most popular food places in Boracay. And it did not disappoint. All the shakes are fruit-centered, specifically mango, banana, watermelon, papaya, avocado, and pineapple. These fruits are often combined with milk, vanilla, chocolate, peanut, mocha, or rhum. Not only does the store have shakes, it also have snacks and main course dishes like chori burger and barbecue! However, we did not have any of those.
I ordered their Banana Peanut Vanilla shake and it was so delicious! It was rich and creamy. In one sip, I can taste the banana, peanut, and vanilla all at the same time, which is not always the case for most beverages in other refreshment places. Another thing I liked about their shakes is that their straw is made out of bamboo! It was definitely fun to drink using that. I especially like it because it does not bend or break like the usual paper or plastic straw.
Their shake is perfect to drink whether you decide to walk along the White Beach or just stay and watch the view of the sea. I recommend ordering this during the late afternoon since the sunset in Boracay is phenomenal. There's just something different with a sunset on a beach in comparison to your normal everyday sunset.

BORACAY
INTRODUKSYON

The Philippines. Manila and Boracay Basics: Top Things to Know Before You Go
youtube
What You Need to Know About the Philippines, Manila and Boracay
My month-long Philippines trip is just around the corner and I wanted to put together a short intro to the Philippines, Manila and Boracay.
The Philippines: What You Need to Know
The Philippines is an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia, in the Pacific Ocean. The Philippines is made up of 7,640 islands, 2,000 of which are inhabited. The country is broadly categorized in three main geographical divisions:
Luzon - This is the largest, northernmost island. Manila is a part of it.
Visayas - The major islands Panay, Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, Samar, and Masbate.
Mindanao – In the south. This is the second largest island.
Manila: What You Need to Know
Manila, the capital of the Philippines, is a densely-populated metropolis located on a bay of Luzon (one of over 7,000 Philippine islands). Manila has a population of about 15 million in a 240 sq mi area, making it the most or one of the most densely-populated cities in the world.
The City of Manila is the capital of the Philippines and is made up of 16 administrative districts like Binondo, Ermita, Intramuros, Malate, Quiapo, and more.
The greater Metropolitan Manila area or Metro Manila is officially called the National Capital Region (NCR). Metro Manila made up of cities like the City of Manila, Makati, Quezon City, Parañaque, Pasay, Taguig, and more.
Boracay: What You Need to Know
With its powdery white-sand beaches and tranquil turquoise water, Boracay is a paradise on Earth. Boracay covers only 10km and the narrowest point is only 1km. Boracay is located in the western region of Visayas, in the Aklan province, under the jurisdiction of Malay.
Boracay has received various recognitions from top travel magazines such as the Best Island in Asia award from Travel + Leisure and the Top Island in the World from Condé Nast Traveler.
The most popular beach in Boracay is the White Beach (it’s also the biggest), but there are many other world-class beaches exist such as Puka Shell Beach, Bulabog Beach, Diniwid Beach and Ilig-Iligan Beach.  All these beaches have white sand and they are unique their own ways.
Boracay White Beach is divided into 3 sections: Station 1, 2 and 3. These stations are essentially the north, middle and south parts of the beach.
Station 1: Wider Beach & Luxury Resorts
Boracay’s famous visual landmark Willy’s Rock is in Station 1. Here you will find most of the luxurious hotels and resorts. Station 1 is comparatively quieter than Station 2.
The water is shallow and the beach is wider here with no separate walking path. Station 1 has the finest stretch of white sand.
Only a few clubs are in the same proximity within a short walking distance if you want to enjoy the Boracay nightlife.
Station 2: The Centre
This is the middle part of Boracay and the most crowded, with an assortment of shops and restaurants. You will find many mid-range hotels and resorts. The water is still shallow but not as much like Station 1.
The biggest D’mall sits right in the middle of Station 2. There is a seafood market, D’Talipapa, located in the south. You will find lots of bars, live music, and 3 clubs where you can experience the Boracay Nightlife.
Station 3: Nature and Tranquility
This is the quietest station with lots of greenery and lots of budget-friendly hotels. The beach is a lot steeper here. There are only a handful of laid-back bars and one club for nightlife.

Momo Ramen at Bolabog, Road 2, Boracay, Malay, Aklan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before going to Boracay, one of my aunts who have been here before recommended me to visit this wonderful place. To my surprise, this restaurant was actually near to the second hotel we stayed at, Seven Stones Hotel. My uncle and I went there to have our early dinner in the afternoon on our fourth day in the island.
Momo Ramen is a Japanese restaurant. The whole ambiance during my visit felt like I was in an anime. It was really cozy! We were the only customers inside when we visited. The food itself was really great, quite cheaper than what I expected it to be. I ordered their Tonkotsu ramen. The bowl was huge and filled with a big serving of ramen topped with black fungus mushrooms, pork cutlets, vegetables, and a boiled egg. The ramen comes with a side of ginger and maple-glazed potatoes.
The ramen was so amazing! The pork was definitely the winner for me. It was soft and tender, it perfectly complements the entire dish. This ramen is a lot better than the other ramens I ate at other Japanese restaurants located at my local malls.
Again, this would be one of the places I would eat again at if I come back to Boracay.
