The world has turned its attention to a few strange things this week. Some continue to focus on the unfolding and devastating events taking place in Ukraine. Some are focusing on Elon Musk buying up Twitter and claiming to be about free-speech when there are worries he could have intentions to stop it. And then many have placed their attention on the ongoing defamation court trial that unfolded this week between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard - the actress Depp is suing for accusing him of domestic abuse. I once spoke to @janja_lalich for my podcast. She mentioned that cults can be made up of many people. But they can almost be made up of just 2. Whatever the outcome is of the trial, whatever happened between the couple, this is a good time to talk about the problems that lie within domestic abuse, the assumption that women are the only victims and could never be the perpetrators. And how the methods used by abusers in these situations are often seen and experienced inside cults and high-demand groups. That being said, it shouldn’t take a high-profiled court case and members of Hollywood for this conversation about coercion to take place. To close the trial, Johnny Depp's lawyers showed an audio where Amber Heard tells Depp that no one will believe him because he is a man. "Tell the world Johnny, tell the world, I, Johnny Depp, a white man, I'm a victim of domestic violence and see who believes you, see how many people take your side." These were the words of Amber Heard. The lawyers then asked Johnny; and what did you say about it?
