Blij zijn met mijn bestaande garderobe. Dat wilde ik de afgelopen maanden leren. Ik ben iemand die heel dankbaar is 😃 maar ik was dat gevoel even kwijtgeraakt. Eind vorig jaar ging het bijna mis! Ik raakte uitgekeken op mijn kleding en wilde bijna alles wegdoen en opnieuw beginnen! Herken je dat??!! 🤯 GELUKKIG heb ik dat niet gedaan. Stel je voor! Zonde toch!🤭 In plaats daarvan ben ik op zoek gegaan naar manieren om creatief om te gaan met mijn kleding. In mijn YouTube video maak ik een aantal outfits na die ik op Pinterest heb gevonden. EXO Theory Pt. 5.5 - ECLIPSE?!

So, um a fucking teaser for the repackage literally came out of nowhere. I’m shook, you’re shook, EXO’s probably shook. Apparently SM himself has had this fucking thing set up since 2006 and like? Too extra? This song sounds like it’s gonna be amazing though like heck yeah EXO going back to similar MAMAish kinda vibes I’m here for it, 100000% what a bop already - calling it.

Anywayyy... I thought I’d shed some light heh on my theories concerning this shit to y’all. Yeah.

Also my theory on this is really, really super connected to my part 4 of the theory, so I will shamelessly recommend you read that first, however I’ll go over the important stuff here I guess too.

So, an eclipse. On the day of an eclipse? (I think anyway, I’m not American so I haven’t really been paying attention to this news.) At first I just thought, ooh cool timing, way to make the most of this cool event, EXO. But then I thought some more. 

OMG EXO uses eclipses all the time, duh you even had thoughts about this whole thing, dumb Rhi use your brain.

So I did, and I began to think it was really apt that Baekhyun is the one singing in this clip. And maybe some harmonisation by D.O, but I’m not 100% on that, so I’m gonna ignore that, even though that would be amazing for my theory overall.

EXO and their relationships with eclipses started on day 1. In MAMA:

They’ve been used consistently throughout EXO’s storyline as a kind of link; a symbol that truly connects all this shit together. But why an eclipse? What significance does this astral phenomenon hold? Personally, I think there are two meanings behind the eclipses. 

Firstly, I think they are a tool, or a signal that creates a portal between the two worlds that EXO members are separated on. The main reason for this thought comes from the What Is Love MV.

At the end we see the eclipse in the background with the twelve members who are searching for each other during the MV congregating together. There’s evidence aplenty that they are searching for the other members in this MV, and especially searching for each other by researching eclipses, so I’m not really going to go into why I think this, but here’s a very important still of Luhan and a bunch of eclipse shit in the bg.

So, eclipses mean that they are able to move through worlds, through a portal and join together as one? Except, eclipses have also shown to be a sort of distressing symbol later on in the EXO mythos. Especially in the Pathcode teasers.

In Sehun’s Pathcode we see him witness an eclipse, as he is enveloped in ominous darkness, and then he looks terrified and runs out of the creepy house.

In Chen’s Pathcode (Sehun’s new counterpart) he also witnesses a sudden eclipse, he is also cast into shadows. He doesn’t show the same level of fear as Sehun, but he doesn’t look happy. Which contradicts with his smile when he sees the eclipse in the Beautiful teaser.

And my most tenuous of links, in Lay’s Pathcode, when he writes ‘You are my Sunshine// I need you// You are the one’ and the phone glitches. It’s kind of like a metaphorical eclipse.

In general, the Pathcode teasers have a very sinister undertone, and a lot of the imagery in them is related to light disappearing and darkness prevailing; much like what happens in an eclipse. We have this shown through the obvious eclipses, but also when the light goes out in Tao’s PC, and the lights in Baek’s, and images relating to this in both Kai, Chanyeol’s and Soo’s Pathcodes as well. The only two who have no reference to light going out in their PC’s are Xiu and Suho.

If you read part 4 of my theory you probs know where I’m going with this, but if not, I’ll outline briefly what I think the other symbolism the eclipse may hold, and why it can bring about such darkness in the later portions of the story. Quite simply put, Baekhyun. Baekhyun’s power is light; he controls light, he is light. Light is at the Heart of the Tree of Life in MAMA, so in my theory Baekhyun is the Heart. So obviously the sun (being a massively important source of light in this world at least) would be linked with Baekhyun.

Now, back to this repackage teaser, I said it was apt Baek is the one singing here. In fact, I think it’s incredibly meaningful. Take a look at the translation of the lyrics he’s singing:

‘Oh~ Sometimes the truth,  Oh~ Hurts more than lies,  Oh~ Everyone’s afraid of being hurt,  Oh~ Turn your head away from the truth.’

There’s one important thing you should do when witnessing an eclipse; you’re not meant to look at it with your bare eyes. You should turn your head away from it. Much like how you should turn your head away from the ‘truth’ that Baekhyun is the Heart of the Tree of Life. The Heart of this war. In a few cases, eclipses are meant to signify a new beginning, or even a new or hidden aspect of ones self rising to the surface, and I think that’s extremely applicable here to this theory. The hidden truth of Baek now coming to light.

I wrote in a previous part how I thought that at the end of the MAMA 2016 performance when Baekhyun ‘dies’ it is because there has been some sort of battle/war and the EXO members have suffered a loss against the Red Forces (albeit, likely temporarily).

The EXO Members themselves have spoken about how KoKoBop was simply the Eve of the War, which was to be this repackage. I don’t think it’s a stretch to believe that the War they’re facing leads to the consequence of the MAMA 2016 awards ending shown above. The War begins with them learning the truth that Baek is the key to this thing, and is susceptible to the Red Forces. It’s something that would definitely hurt much more than the lie of Baek being a traitor in Monster, it would hurt more than the lie of their old symbol of the eclipse that meant hope to the members and was a way to communicate and come together now being used as a symbol for the darkness that is going to obstruct them and plunge them in to a war.

So basically... can’t wait
