My Full Muse List, Updated

I decided to go through and update my entire muse list, adding and removing characters, and I decided to make a post with the list that I intend to give easy to find tags on my blog, or to pin it later on.

All male muses can be used for gender transformation asks, and any males from their series can be used for gender transformation asks so long as they follow the other rules of my blog. This applies even if a male character from the series isn't normally on my muse list as their male counterpart. I.E. Byakuya from Danganronpa as a woman with Makoto, or Bakugou from My Hero Academia as a woman with Midoriya.

Vanny Nights: o sucessor espiritual de Kamen Tenshi Rosetta da Tsuburaya Entertainment que é outra Tsuburaya é uma série melhor que a anterior e com um final surpreendente

No artigo anterior eu falei sobre Kamen Tenshi Rosetta que foi a primeira ´série de Tokusatsu de uma nova linha apelidada pelos fãs de Late Night por ter foco no público adulto mais ou menos equivalente ao Seinen Mangá que é voltado a jovens adultos entre 18 e 25 anos cujo propósito é oferecer nostalgia ao mesmo tempo que pode flertar com coisas que seriam impossíveis de passar no Tokusatsu voltado ao público infantil e obviamente essas séries tem um pouco de violência e cenas picantes,estrelado por Super-Heroínas pra vender suas fotos de gravura. E que foi uma produção da Tsuburaya Entertainment que não é a Tsuburaya Productions que todos amamos e que criou o Ultraman e sim uma outra empresa do terceiro filho de Eiji Tsuburaya.Essa empresa é conhecida por fazer produções bem obscuras de 1991 a 2004 enão sei se está na ativa ainda já que não produz nenhuma série desde então.Alguns de seus trabalhos estão Eko Eko Azarak uma série de filmes de terror juvenil e Mikarodoid,também de terror que foi seu primeiro trabalho. Rosetta foi uma série sem compromisso que oferecia muita nostalgia e isso acabou dando mais certo do que eles imaginavam então novamente tentaram uma nova série nos mesmos moldes da anterior mas desta vez investiram um pouco mais de conteúdo nela sendo bem melhor do que a anterior e sinceramente eu não esperava nada dessa série e acabei me surpreendendo principalmente pelo final ousado que ela teve.Diferente de Rosetta que oferece um pano de fundo básico pra justificar a trama aqui em Vanny Knights que é uma abreviação de Variable Nymphets Knighs ou Cavaleiras Ninfetas Váriáveis(seja lá o que isso for) que é um título chamativo pra atrair o público, temos um plot bem mais definido e com um grupo inimigo com objetivos bem claros além de termos um melhor desenvolvimento dos personagens. E agora ao invés de uma temos um trio de heroínas com personalidades e estilos bem distintos.

Na trama Kazuyuki Fujita é um otaku recluso que vive jogando um game de Visual Novel(ou é o que parece ao menos) chamado Millennium Kingdom Arest é apaixonado pela personagem do jogo e sua dubladora Seria Kamijima(interpretada pela famosa dubladora Yui Horie que aparece em pessoa na série) e sua vida muda completamente ao topar com Arisu,o mesmo nome da personagem do jogo(que é a palavra japonesa pra Alice),uma garota que adora coelhos(que por sinal é uma referencia direta a Alice no País das Maravilhas e o fato das Vanny Knights terem capacetes de coelho,a palavra Vanny é um anagrama de Bunny que significa coelho) que deixa sem querer sua mala cair em cima do rapaz.Ao chegar atrasado no trabalho ele é demitido e ao voltar pra casa dá de cara com Arisu que diz que vai ser sua empregada doméstica a partir de agora e vai morar com ele e sua irmã Manami. Sem entender nada o rapaz é alvejado por monstros conhecidos como Zoma e a garota se transforma em Vanny Knight Allies pra protege-lo.Ao voltar pra casa ele se depara com mais duas garotas,a modelo que ele encontrou logo depois de ser despedido,chamada Akira e a colegial Airi,também duas Vanny Knights,Rhamiel e Raviel respectivamente. Isso porque ele carrega a marca da espada em seu corpo,o que significa que Kazuyuki na verdade abriga a alma de um guerreiro lendário conhecido como Arest Horn que possui a sagrada espada Millenniun Saber que os vilões conhecidos como Amore Gore querem pra governar o mundo. Quando Kazuyuki tinha 15 anos ele recebeu uma descarga de um raio ao mesmo tempo que o trio recebia seus broches em forma de espada pra se tornar Vanny Knights na mesma hora. A trama não conta exatamente o que são essas entidades ou de onde vieram mas creio que seja em algum local fora da Terra chamado Millennium Kingdom como podemos ver no final da série. A partir daí o trio tem que proteger Kazuyuki como as 3 mosqueteiras de Arest Horn até sua alma despertar. Os vilões usam aquele jogo como forma de deixar as pessoas violentas e loucas sem que Kazuyuki saiba.

No inicio o trio protege o rapaz apenas por ele ter Arest Horn dentro de sí ms com o tempo vão criando um laço com ele especialmente Arisu que fica apaixonada pelo rapaz,e diferente de Rosetta cada personagem possui uma história. Arisu perdeu a mãe quando ela lhe entregou o Vanny Saber e foi atacada por alguém desconhecido. Airi é uma garota meio indiferente e até insensível que esconde um lado meio meigo e um sorriso porque sua amiga de escola foi morta na sua frente,desde então ela fecha seu coração pras pessoas agindo de forma insensível.Ela também gosta de fazer previsão com cartas. Akira é a mais velha das 3 e é super sexy como modelo e com um ar muito maduro,ela não gosta deter contato com homens porque seu noivo foi morto na sua frente.Obviamente quem fez isso foi Amore Gore. Apesar de Kazuyuki ser o tipico personagem fraco e meio patético,ele tem um bom coração,o motivo dele ser assim foi quando ele integrava o time de futebol do colégio.Quando foi atingido pelo raio Kazuyuki ganhou o poder temporário de ler a mente das pessoas e percebeu que seus amigos pensavam mal dele pelas costas enquanto fingiam agir amigavelmente,exceto Takeshi que foi sincero com ele sendo um amigo de verdade.Essa história é revelada quando Kazuyuki encontra Takeshi que quer se casar com sua antiga amiga de infância,essa que era apaixonada por Kazuyuki que decidiu contar a ele agora.Pra não atrapalhar os dois Kazuyuki finge ser mais patético que o normal,só que Takeshi vira um Zoma e Kazuyuki luta pra evitar matá-lo e acaba manifestando o poder de Arest Horn o fazendo voltar ao normal.Ele também ajuda um garoto que sofria bullying e sendo otaku como ele,os dois e dão bem até o garoto ficar louco por causa do jogo,e Kazuyuki arriscar a vida pra taze-lo a razão. Por conta dessas atitudes que as outras também vão mudando,Airi começa a se abrir mais e até sorrir,embora ela ainda seja muito racional e insensível as vezes e Akira começa a ser mais amigável também. o Problema é que a direção não consegue usar bem Kazuyuki nos momentos cômicos e a falta de habilidade do ator também não ajuda muito o personagem.Apesar disso não compromete muito. Durante a série os mistérios de quando Arest Horn vai despertar e a trama relacionada ao jogo Kingdom Arest vão sendo expostas te deixando mais curioso pra ver o que acontece.Não é nenhuma obra-prima do gênero e não chega a ser tão bom quanto Garo nesse sentido mas eu acabei simpatizando com as atrizes através dos extras que mostram gravações delas e diversas brincadeiras.Inclusive a atriz Runa Nagai é bem meiga e fofa,ela mesma diz num episódio especial recapitulando a série que ela é fraca em interpretação apesar de dar o seu melhor e que o fato de Airi ser estóica facilitava o trabalho,de uma forma bem direta e honesta com um pouco da inocência da adolescência(é estranho descobrir que hoje ela tem 39 anos)

Mas o que fez Vanny Knights ser um tanto marcante foi sua reta final onde diversas reviravoltas impensáveis ocorreram. Minami,é a irmã fofa e carismática do protagonista,e promove alguns momentos cômicos na série.Então no dia do seu aniversário sus pais não podem vir,no entanto a convivência com as 3 garotas fez com que sentisse como se fossem parte da familia,então eles preparam uma festa até que ela encontra uma garota sem memória perdida que faz amizade.Essa garota na verdade era uma Amore Gore e assim que ela recobra a memória ela captura Minami e faz um jogo terrível com os protagonistas onde no final ela derruba Minami de cima de um prédio e ela cai e acaba morrendo. isso não só é impactante por nunca imaginar que algo assim fosse ocorrer logo com aquela personagem como me lembrou do Regresso de Ultraman por conta do impacto que causa e aqui é maior porque a personagem era muito mais presente a série. Isso desestabiliza e quebra completamente Kazuyuki que fica numa espiral de tristeza e dor imensa até que ele recebe um pacote do senhorio do apartamento onde o grupo se muda em um mometo da série e era uma armadilha. Aquele senhorio meio pervertido chamada Ooya er ao chefe,o próprio Amore em pessoa e através do sentimento negativo ele desperta Arest Horn pro mal absoluto. Porque o verdadeiro propósito de Arest Horn é usar seu poder e decidir qual raça iria seguir no planeta Terra,a humanidade ou os Zomas e cai naquela dualidade da humanidade ter inúmeros defeitos que penderiam sua própria extinção pelas mãos do cavaleiro e ele estar tomado por ódio. E agora as 3 Vanny Knights precisam lutar contra quem deveriam proteger.E no fim acaba que Airi e Akira se sacrifica na batalha final restando Arisu encarar Kazuyuki como seu último oponente e o final mais ousado que eu já vi,nem na franquia GARO vi algo assim.

O Final

O final de Vanny Knights é bastante ousado,primeiro pelo fato de eles terem escolhido deixar totalmente abstrato e subjetivo,deixando você pra interpretar o que aconteceu.Segundo que não é um final feliz onde os protagonistas terminam bem e felizes de volta a sua vida normal,e ninguém revive milagrosamente. Arest Horn finge ter voltado a ser Kazuyuki e engana Arisu pra fazer o sacrificio final pra obter a Millennium saber em seu total poder,porém o Kazuyuki acorda e tenta detê-lo então pra impedir que ela morra ele mesmo decide se suicidar cravando a espada em seu corpo. Amano Ryosei que era o crador do jogo e o principal general doa Arest Horn se aliou a s Vanny Knights por ter sido descartado,era pra el ter despertado Arest Horn mas acabou aparecendo dois candidatos na Terra dessa vez.Ele aproveita a queda de Kazuyuki pra tomar a espada pra sí porém ao evocar seu poder tudo indica que apenas o edifício Lajura dos vilões foi purificada e aparentemente todo morreram ali e a Terra e a humanidade continuaram.Vemos um pesadelos e Kazuyuki onde todos seus amigos viram Zomas matando uns aos outros e 3 luzes representando as cores das protagonistas junto a uma quarta saem do planeta Terra rumo ao espaço,e de repente Kazuyuki e Arisu estão num local misterioso(o mesmo da OP o que pode indicar ser o Millennium Kingdom) onde Arisu revela seus sentimentos e diz que daqui a mil anos eles vão se reunir de novo. Além de Alice no País das Maravilhas outra referencia ode ser Sailor Moon que também tinha um reino milenar,reencarnações,heroína protetoras de alguém importante e tudo mais e talvez é a pista pra interpretar esse final.el não mostra o que ocorreu com as outras,apenas mostra Alisu e Kazuyuki nesse lugar e termina assim.

Finalizando Vanny Nights acabou mesmo sem ser nenhuma obra-prima e estar longe de ser considerado um clássico me deixado surpreso com sua reta final e o fim subjetivo que teve,o que faz com que pelo menos não esqueça dessa obra pois el vai sempre ficar conhecido como o Tokusatsu do final ousado.Vendo as gravações percebemos que as própria atrizes fazem as cenas de ação as vezes tendo dublês mas na maioria do tempo são elas mesmas,e por isso que a coreografia não é muito boa,se tivesse um diretor como Koichi Sakamoto que transforma até a mais inocente idol numa lutadora profissional a coisa seria diferente. A Opening é cantada pela famosa Megumi Hayashibara,dubladora da Rei de Evangelion e da Anna de Shaman King. Curiosamente a outra Tsuburaya fez uma série nos mesmos moldes destas da sua “irmã” chamada Otasuke Girl que tem uma coreografia um pouco melhor.E os efeitos especias não são grande coisa também ainda mais comparados ao que Ultraman fazia mas ainda assim ela vale a conferida.

A neuron, when activated, propagates an electrical signal. But that signal cannot cross the synapse – the junction between two neurons. So, communication from one neuron to the next is accomplished by the release of tiny membrane capsules containing signaling chemicals called neurotransmitters across the synapse.

The electrical signal triggers these capsules, called vesicles, to fuse with membrane at the neuron's pre-synaptic terminal, thereby releasing neurotransmitters into the cleft between the two cells. The neurotransmitters travel across the cleft, then activate receptors in the post-synaptic neuron, triggering an electrical signal in that next cell.

Because the neurotransmitter signal goes in one direction—from the pre-synaptic neuron to the post-synaptic one— vesicles must be re-formed for the process to continue. "Recycling is a critical process to keep synapses functional," explains Professor Takahashi, leader of the Cellular & Molecular Synaptic Function Unit at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST). In a study recently published in Cell Reports, Takahashi and his colleagues shed light on a poorly-understood part of vesicle recycling.

one-sided kuroda yukinari/ashikiba takuto 2k | rated t for language

Kuroda might have a crush. He might also be noticing the smaller details he wishes he was blind to and growing a soft spot for his new ace.

The first time Ashikiba’s laugh makes Kuroda feel warm all the way through, he punches his bedroom wall so hard it leaves bruises stamped across his knuckles.

It is absurdly easy but also difficult to make him laugh like that. For all of his efforts, he is an idiot through and through and though Kuroda finds it almost charming sometimes, he cannot shake the fact that Ashikiba is easily one of the dumbest people he has ever met. More often than not, he finds himself explaining things as simply as possible when faced with those confused violet eyes; something he sees them in his dreams. They put every single gemstone in the world to shame, outshine every star in the sky.

When Kuroda wakes up realizing he’s dreamed of more than just those eyes, he throws himself into a vigorous shower so that what he remembers fades away quickly.

They have to spend time together. They have to find a rhythm together. Fukutomi wants Kuroda to be the ace’s assistant for Ashikiba, wants Ashikiba himself to grow into an ace who can carry the hopes and dreams of his team across the finish line. To become the kind of two-man team that Hakogaku will need when the third years graduate, they have to stay side-by-side.

Kuroda is not sure if this is divine punishment, or a reward he will never be able to earn.

“Yuki-chan,” Ashikiba whines halfway through the set of sit-ups that Kuroda has entrusted him with, looking at him like the most pitiful kicked puppy in the entire world, “can we just call it done for the day? I don’t want to do anymore. I’m sore.”

Even on his back with his long legs folded at the knee, it’s impossible not to notice how tall Ashikiba is, how his height goes through his long legs and into his torso, how noticeable his arms are even bent with his hands tucked behind his head. Kuroda thought he had been Ashikiba’s partner long enough to stop noticing mundane things about him. He’s finding out now just how wrong he was and just how hard it is to get his focus to stay on track.

“I don’t want to hear that. You know we have to train.” Keeping Ashikiba on track has been a chore in and of itself, but Kuroda welcomes it. He knows Ashikiba wants to do his best, after all, and if that means being the one to push him to new heights, then so be it.

He didn’t realize this would mean spotting him while they were doing sit-ups. He didn’t realize this would mean keeping ihs hands on Ashikiba’s feet, counting out the reps in his head while every single “up” brought Ashikiba’s face in closer and closer proximity with his. Close enough to let him see the slight flush in Ashikiba’s cheeks, the stupid curl in his soft orange hair that seemingly begs to be played with, the long strands of his eyelashes and the beauty mark beneath his eye that almost looks like a little heart.

Kuroda thinks he might be learning to hate training more than anything else.

“If you want to get strong enough to carry the team, then you have to strengthen your muscles,” he says over Ashikiba’s pitiful whine. “All of your muscles are connected, remember? Your core muscles are important especially. You’re always done. If you keep wasting time, I’ll add more.”

Ashikiba’s eyes widen. “You wouldn’t do that to me! Would you?”

Of course not, but Ashikiba has no right to make him feel so bad for even joking about it. “What did I just say? Now get it together and get back to work.”

It takes him a minute or so to collect himself, but Ashikiba returns to proper form and Kuroda goes back to counting, trying not to get distracted by the way Ashikiba pouts at him or the way his hair falls into his eyes and sticks to his forehead from the sweat. By the time he finally makes it to his last sit-up, he looks exhausted and falls back on the floor, dramatic as always, half-twisting around so his legs splay out beneath him.

He wraps his arms around his middle and whimpers. “Now I’m even more sore.”

Kuroda squeezes his eyes shut and pinches the bridge of his nose, telling himself to take slow and deep breaths even as his breathing trips. He should leave this alone; muscle pain from sit-ups will stop with time and Ashikiba has ridden more fiercely and hurt himself far more than this. Still, he finds himself reaching for him when his eyes are open, shoving his own hands out of the way so he can touch himself. Through the cycling kit, of course.

“You’re being melodramatic for the sake of being melodramatic,” Kuroda tells him, and Ashikiba slowly stretches out, languid like a cat. “Hold still. Don’t squirm around so much.”

If it was anyone else, he would have left well enough alone and went on with their training schedule, but Ashikiba smiles gratefully up at him and relaxes under his touch. He doesn’t have masseuse skills despite his various sports-related skills but he knows enough how to soothe sore muscles after a workout and from the way Ashikiba sighs softly, it must be working.

He would never have done this for anyone else. Never would have extended this gentle touch to any other member of the team; in fact he would likely have told them to suck it up and get back to work if they really want to win the upcoming Inter-High now that the third years are leaving.

Ashikiba finally stretches underneath him, then blinks open bright purple eyes. “I feel better now, Yuki-chan. Thanks so much.”

“You gotta learn to build up endurance better at this rate,” Kuroda tells him, taking his hands back with more effort than he should have to flex. “Come on. We’re going to ride up the mountain for a bit now.”

There are no complaints about that. Kuroda has learned to read Ashikiba well and he does so during the climb, watching for the moment when his good mood clicks into place, when the music swells in his head. A different piece each time, and though Kuroda wants to ask after what this piece is (not to listen to it before he falls asleep, and Kuroda has never liked classical music anyway) he stays silent and keeps his eyes on Ashikiba.

This is normal, right? Watching after your teammate, your partner and your ace, is normal.

The next shift catches his attention, when Ashikiba sways his body back and forth, slowly and first and then more fiercely the more speed he gains, the more confident he grows. The Metronome Dancing Kuroda has watched and memorized a thousand times, the swing of his long lean body from side to side to the tune of the music in his head.

Kuroda might as well not even be here at this point.

He could easily pace himself and outmatch Ashikiba, show him that he still has plenty of work to do and is not even close to where he should be yet. It would be easy, and Kuroda would not feel bad doing it, either.

Well, he might feel bad. He doesn’t like being the cause of Ashikiba’s soft sad eyes and downtrodden mood if he can avoid the worst of it.

He permits a break when they reach the peak and watches Ashikiba sip from his water bottle, watches his Adam’s apple bob with each long swallow until Kuroda feels his tongue grow heavy in his mouth and his own throat tighten, dry and dusty. Water only chases away a little of that sensation; if Manami were here, he would have implied Kuroda might be thirsty for something other than water, which only infuriates him that much more.

It’s easy to get mad at Manami, even when he isn’t here, and it is a far easier direction to send his frustration without Ashikiba realizing it. “Fucking goddamn winged asshole.”

“Yuki-chan?” Ashikiba cocks his head at him. “Is something wrong? Are you angry with Manami?”

“Hell yes, I am.” He doesn’t elaborate, and Ashikiba seems content not to ask.

The ride back is far easier on a downhill slope and Kuroda feels slightly better when he takes his helmet off and runs a hand through his sweaty hair. Ashikiba hums softly to himself, most likely whatever piece he had been listening to in his head, and once again his eyes meet Kuroda’s, soft and warm and happy. The earlier issue with sit-ups has no doubt faded from his mind even as Kuroda’s eyes dart back down to his stomach. Is he still sore? He must be.

"Riding with you is always so much fun. I’m glad we’re able to ride together so much.” Ashikiba beams at him and Kuroda feels like a deer caught in headlights, staring down his inevitable demise.

He white knuckles his bike handles and grits his teeth together. “Yeah, it uh. Was a good ride.”

“I know I complained earlier about sit-ups and I apologize for that. You’re right when you said I have to keep working hard to win.” Ashikiba smiles and it makes the setting sun look dull and ugly in comparison; the light of the setting sun plays on his hair, a sunset forming a halo around his face. “I’m going to keep working hard, I promise. Even when it hurts. That way, we can win this year! We’re going to make everyone so proud, aren’t we?”

“Uh, yeah.” Kuroda pinches the bridge of his nose, telling himself to go slow. Inhale, exhale, stay calm. “We’ll win this year because I didn’t come this far not to win. We’re going to win this time.”

He wants Hakogaku’s title back. He wants everyone to have to realize that their team is strong enough even without the third years to carry them. Most importantly, he wants to feel the rush of adrenaline that comes when he puts his hand on his ace’s back and pushes all of his power and hope into Ashikiba’s body, propelling him with it across the finish line.

“Right. You have been working hard. You’re doing a really good job!” Ashikiba smiles at him and Kuroda looks away, not sure he can take the intensity of such an expression.

“Yeah.” He walks his bike over to where he’s left his schoolbag, shouldering it before he mounts his bike once more, ready to head home for the evening and try to figure out what he wants to do about these unwanted feelings. “So don’t let me down. If that means doing sit-ups until your midsection gets ready to break, then that’s what it means. Put your all into it and the team.”

A large hand lights on his shoulder as light and gentle as a butterfly, almost uncertain as though Ashikiba thinks he might not be able to do this as he wants. “I will. I won’t let you down. I’m tired of letting the people who put their faith into me down.”

The memory is sharp and sudden, the sight of Ashikiba getting turned around in a race and riding backward, the crestfallen expression on his face when Fukutomi had taken away his right to ride. He remembers the panic in those bright eyes when the anxiety had choked logic and reason out of him, and for some reason this makes him angrier than the full weight of his tumultuous emotions concerning Ashikiba combined. Kuroda never wants to see that again.

“You won’t, Takuto,” he says, setting his feet on the pedals of his bike, ignoring the flash of hope in those beautiful eyes. “You couldn’t ever. I’ll see you tomorrow, same time.”

He rides hard and fast back home until the strain in his legs threatens to overpower him. Easier to handle that than the very heavy reality that he might be falling in love with Ashikiba Takuto.

Menswear designer Christoph Rumpf snags Hyères Grand Prix

Hyères - The 34th edition of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories took place on the grounds of the modernist villa Noailles located in the hills above the city of Hyères in the South of France. For more than 30 years the festival remains the creative hub and a place where emerging talents in fashion, photography and design are nurtured and supported.

The festival offered an exciting wide-ranging program that included the showcase of the works of the 10 competing photographers and fashion accessory designers on the ground and second floor of the Villa Noailles, the fashion show showcasing collections of the 10 competing fashion designers that took place in the Hangar de La Mouture located in the remarkable natural area just outside of Hyères as well as a number of exhibitions, creative workshops and showrooms, concerts, films and book signing events.

This year festival was presided over by Pascale Mussard, a member of Hermès family. Mussard is the founder and the former director of ‘petit h’, Hermès’s upcycled line dedicated to sustainability, and a former co-artistic director at Hermès.

Natacha Ramsay-Levi, the creative director of the French fashion house Chloé, was the president of the fashion jury. Other jury members were fashion editor Camille Bidault Waddington, The Financial Times fashion editor Jo Ellison, fashion model and designer Liya Kebede, editor-in-chief of System magazine Alexia Niedzielski, and Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh, the winners of Hyères Grand Prix in 2018, to name but a few. The latter have been newly appointed as artistic directors at Nina Ricci.

The Grand Prix of the jury Première Vision went to Austrian designer Christoph Rumpf for his menswear collection of deconstructed pieces. Some of the looks were created from dead stock materials or materials found on the flea markets that the designer cut into new shapes or reused in a different way. There was a suit consisting of a jacket and matching pants made of upcycled carpets and a necklace made of a chandelier. The other looks were created with the support of Sfate & Combier and Puntoseta.

The native Austrian took home the grant of 20.000 euros provided by Première Vision Paris, the equivalent in development support from Chanel’s Métiers d’art, a prize of 10.000 euros from Petit Bateau and will get to develop one or more products for Petit Bateau that will be manufactured and sold by the brand. He will also have the opportunity to visit Swarovski’s headquarters and archives in Austria and show his collection at Mercedes-Benz fashion show in Berlin. Rumpf’s collection and his upcycling approach impressed the jury members so much that they decided to offer him another grant that they called Exception Donation, which will provide him opportunities of work and exposure in China.

The presence of Natacha Ramsay-Levi, the creative director of maison Chloé, at the festival this year added a very special value to the Chloé prize that consisted of a grant of 20.000 euros. The prize was awarded to Tina Schwizgebel-Wang from Switzerland.

There was a new prize that enriched the impressive list of prizes and awards at the festival. Chanel that has been a long-time festival partner and supporter donated the new Prix des Metiérs d’art. The prize was set up to reward the best collaboration between the 10 finalists and Chanel’s ten creative ateliers. The winner of the newly created prize is the Irish designer Róisin Pierce. Pierce worked with Chanel’s Maison Michelle in order to create hats for her womenswear collection entitled “Mná I Bhlàth” (from Irish “Women in Bloom”). She will receive a donation of 20.000 euros to make a new project with Maison Michelle that will be exhibited next year. Pierce’s collection also earned love and support of the public and was honored with the public prize of the city of Hyères.

The Japanese trio Tetsuya Doi, Yota Anazawa & Manami Toda received an honorable mention from the jury for their witty womenswear collection POLOMANI (an ironic homage to Polo Ralph Lauren + Armani) that featured transformable pieces like a bag that can be transformed into a giant hat or double pants (two pants sewn together) that can be worn both ways or a dress made of several polo shirts.

The Finnish designer Milla Lintilä won the Galeries Lafayette prize and will be invited by the brand to create a capsule collection in line with her vision, which will be sold in stores and online.

The Fashion Accessories competition is a relatively new section of the festival that has been created 2 years ago. The jewellery designer Charlotte Chesnais was the head of the jury this year.

The Spanish designer Noelia Morales received the Swarovski Fashion Accessories Grand Prix for her collection of underwear “Anna Bonny, The Mastectomy Patch”. Morales received the grant of 15.000 euros, the access to Swarovski headquarters and archives, and an opportunity to develop a project with Chanel’s Métiers d’art valued at up to 20.000 euros.

The public prize for fashion accessories was awarded to Sarah Levy from Belgium for her collection “Creatures of Habit”, a collection that aimed to recreate contemporary habits in form of accessories.

The French duo Dorian Cayol & Quentin Barralon received an honorable mention from the jury for their footwear collection “Ò-pan 6”.

The festival’s fashion and accessories winners will be exhibited at the upcoming Paris Sur Mode and Première Classe Tuileries trade shows in September.

The British fashion photographer Craig McDean presided over the photography jury that included such names as Marc Ascoli, the creative director of Another magazine, the model Guinevere Van Seenus, the journalist Paris Lees, and Eva O’Leary, the winner of Hyères top photography prize in 2018.

The winner of the Grand Prix of the Photography Jury is Alice Mann from South Africa who received 20.000 euros donated by Chanel. Mann’s photographic series “Drummies” is dedicated to all-female teams of drum majorettes in South Africa who come from some of the country’s most marginalised communities. In addition to Grand Prix, the Wallpaper* Photography Director, Holly Hay and Fashion Director, Isabelle Kountoure, chose Alice Mann to shoot a main fashion story for the magazine’s January New Generation issue.

The French photographer Hubert Crabières is the happy winner of the American Vintage Photography Prize valued at up to 15.000 euros including 5.000 euros for his personal use.

The Still Life Prize valued at 5.000 euros went to the Finnish photographer Hilla Kurki.

The French photographer’s duo Elsa & Johanna received the public prize of the city Hyères.
