Amidst the chaotic celebration, Marc's eyes sought out the one person who mattered most to him in that moment; his girlfriend, Y/n. He spotted her just to the left of him, a proud smile gracing her lips as she waved at him. With a grin, he made his way over, helmet in hand.

"There you are." He said, his voice slightly hoarse from the exertion of the race. "Did you see that?" He pressed a gebtle kiss onto her cheek as Y/n wrapped her arms around his neck. Y/n chuckled, her eyes sparkling with admiration. "Of course I did. I am so proud of you, babe." Marc's heart swelled with pride at her words. Leaning in, he pressed another quick kiss to her lips before pulling back, his grin widening. "I had to come over and celebrate with my favorite person." He said to her. Y/n playfully nudged him. "Flatterer. How's it feel to be back on the track?"

"Like I never left." Marc replied with a shrug, though a hint of nostalgia tinged his words. "But it's good to be here, I couldnt have done this without you." Y/She laughed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Oh, I know. I'm basically your lucky charm." He chuckled, the sound rich and warm. "You definitely are." Y/n's gaze shifted to his disheveled hair, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "And I must say, I'm loving the helmet hair." Marc ran a hand through his tousled locks, giving her a playful look. "You mean this masterpiece?" He laughed, knowing full well how ridiculous he must look. She nodded, still grinning. "Absolutely. You should wear it like that more often."

"Maybe I will." He teased, leaning in to whisper conspiratorially. "Just for you." Y/n laughed, swatting his arm playfully. "You're impossible." Marc's smile softened, his gaze lingering on her face. "I love you." He said, the words sincere and heartfelt. "I love you too." She replied, reaching out to squeeze his hand. "I should go," Marc said reluctantly, giving Y/n a quick squeeze. "But I'll see you up there, okay?" Y/n nodded, her eyes shining with pride. "I'll be cheering for you the loudest."

With one last smile, Marc turned and made his way towards the podium, his heart light with the knowledge that Y/n was waiting for him, her unwavering support a constant source of strength. Clara had never felt more embarrassed in her life. Lorenzo, her ex boyfriend, the man she gave four years of her life to, was doing fine without her while she was still trying her hardest to even get out of bed. Her father, Felipe, hated seeing his daughter sad so he thought that a father daughter day would be good. Only thing was that his version of a father daughter day involved motorcycle racing. She didn’t think she would end up liking motorcycle racing.

“Are you excited?” Felipe asked as they were being driven to the Circuito de Jerez for the Spanish Grand Prix.

“I think I am. I’m not sure what to expect.” Clara responded.

“I’m sure you’ll end up loving it. We’re going to be meeting some of the riders.” Felipe said.

“Do you know which ones?”

“I know for a fact that we will meet Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa, he’s from Sabadell. You love Sabadell! Didn’t you visit Sabadell once to see the . . .”

“The art museum. And it was six years ago, I haven’t visited since.” Clara finished.

“But you can talk to Mr. Pedrosa about the art museum, I’m sure he’s visited it too.” Felipe tried to at least have a conversation with Clara, but all she wanted was peace and quiet so he stayed silent until they arrived.

“Give us five minutes, please.” Felipe told the driver, who nodded and stepped out the vehicle. “Clara, tell me how you really feel.”

“Like I’m the biggest idiot and I’m going to die alone. It felt like that to me. It feels like I wasted four years of my life. He never cared about me, papi.” Clara silently sobbed.

Felipe’s heart broke. It’s been a while since Clara had called him papi. It was always little Clara who called him that.

“He told me once that i wouldn’t make a good mother because of who I am. He thinks that because I’m royalty that I’m going to fuck up my future kids’ lives.” Clara admitted. “But he was drunk when he said that.”

“My girl, you know what they say, drunk words are sober thoughts.”

She never thought that the love of her life would end up being a motorcycle rider, who she would eventually give up the throne for.

Clara did. And she would never regret that decision no matter what the media said. She didn’t read the news articles about her and Marc or watched the late night segments on her being a disgrace to the royal family for leaving. She had finally found the one and she wasn’t planning on leaving him.

Clara had said her goodbyes to Valentino Rossi while her father continued his conversation with the Italian man. Several photographers had taken pictures of the King and Princess with Valentino. She waved and smiled as she was taught. It became a routine for her.

“I’m late?” She heard a voice from behind her causing her to turn around. She saw Marc, who she immediately recognized.

She chuckled at his nervousness and shook her head. “Not really. Just don’t tell my father about it, he gets annoyed when I’m late.”

“Oh. Uh, how are you liking it so far? Is it too loud?” Marc asked. He had no idea what to talk about with the literal princess of spain. They didn’t have anything in common as far as he knew. Maybe they both liked the same food or a show? He just felt a bit overwhelmed by a princess.

“You’re asking me if it’s too loud? We’re surrounded by motorcycles. It’s fine, Marc. I am definitely enjoying myself. It’s been a rough couple of days, but this is a great distraction.” Clara smiled.

“How come? Is being a princess hard? It doesn’t seem like it in the movies.” Marc joked. Being busy with motogp, he had no idea of what had happened with Clara and Lorenzo.

“It’s definitely not like the movies. I think I would much prefer being a princess in the movies than in real life. It looks like they have it easy—”

“Marc! There’s the world champion!” King Felipe interrupted.

“Your majesty, I hope you’re enjoying yourself.” Marc smiled at the king.

“The day has been great. I’m sure you’ll make our country proud like you always do.”

Talk about pressure.

Clara could sense Marc had become more nervous. Not only did he have the eyes of fans on him, but he had the king and princess of his home country counting on him.

“Thank you, your majesty.” Marc nodded. “I was just about to ask the princess if she would like some kind of souvenir to remember this day—”

“Lead the way, Marc.” Clara said. She loved her father, but he always had the worst timing.

“Clara!” King Felipe called out.

Marc felt like he was going to get banned from his home country for leaving the king by himself, but Princess Clara had dragged him away.

“Shouldn’t we—”

“Just pretend you’re giving me a tour. It’s nice to not have a microphone or camera in your face.”

So that’s how Marc and Clara ended up in his motorhome. He showed the inside and saw how her face lit up just by the simple motorhome.

“It’s cozy. I’m jealous.” She said as she sat on the sofa.

“Of this dirty unorganized thing?” Marc joked.

“It’s tiny and quiet. It feels nice in here.”

Marc nodded. Maybe the movies didn’t represent the royal life all too well. “Do you think your father likes me after this? He might think wrong. I don’t want to be on his bad side, he’s the king.” Marc sat beside her.

“If you want, we can go back. But you did promise some kind of souvenir.” She teased.

“Here.” Marc took off his hat and placed it on her lap.

“What? No autograph?” Pretended to be upset.

“The princess wants my autograph? I would be honored,” Marc played along and took out a permanent marker from his back pocket and signed the hat. “So do princesses have a complicated schedule or do I have to make some calls just so I can see you again?”

“You want to see me again?” Clara couldn’t believe it. Maybe this was some kind of prank and she was the victim of it.

“Of course. Why wouldn’t I want to see you again?”

It was clear that Marc couldn’t keep his eyes off of the princess. He didn’t believe in love at first sight until he finally met Clara then he realized how quickly she had stolen his heart.

King Felipe lightly laughed at his daughter. Ever since they got back from the Grand Prix, Clara had been checking her phone constantly. They were currently waiting at the dinner table waiting for the rest of their family so they could begin eating breakfast.

“Your phone, are you expecting someone?” Felipe asked.

“No, no. I’m just checking the time.” Clara replied, putting her phone in her back pocket.

“You have to check the time every five minutes?”

“Yes . . .”

“Is there a boyfriend I should know about? Girlfriend? You can talk to me, sweetheart.” Felipe encouraged.

Clara sighed. She much rather tell her father face to face than him hearing it on some radio station or seeing the news.

“I’m talking with Marc and before you say any thing, he’s really nice to me and he’s funny and I really like him. We are just talking.” She admitted.

Felipe smiled. He was glad Clara had found someone that made her laugh and forget about Lorenzo. “I like him too. He’s a world champion, you know?”

“I know, papá,” she playfully rolled her eyes. “I was wondering if I could go out with some friends tomorrow.”

“Where to?”

“Just the restaurant we always go, the one that’s private. I know you don’t like me going out without security, but can I please go without them? It’s a bit uncomfortable being with my friends when the security is sitting next to us.” Clara explained. In reality, her ‘friends’ was actually just Marc. He had finally asked her out on a date.
