#366days day 72, #marchmeetthemaker2020 'Learning curve or challenge'. Well the last 12 months have been a challenge and that is a bit of an understatement! My dear old Dad passed away on March 30th last year and we are still dealing with the aftermath. My Mum is in a care home as she has Dementia and my Brother and myself have had to apply to the Court of Protection to deal with her finances and for me to be able to deal with probate. Who knew how costly and how long that would take?! Council breathing down our necks for care home fees! Dealing with the grief of losing Dad and trying to deal with Mum's affairs and then our furball friend 'Cat' passed away in the summer at the grand old age of 20 (we think, not sure how old he was when we got him!) I think my sewing and knitting were the two things (apart from family) that kept me sane! I nearly broke a few times (official bodies can be so insensitive!) Day 12 of #MarchMeetTheMaker challenge - Postage and Packaging: We use nature friendly packaging that can be recycled fully - all our boxes are from recycled cardboard, the shoes are packed in recycled paper bags, we use starch spacers that can be composted instead of the usual plastic ones and we use reinforced paper tape for packaging. I am really looking forward to this autumn as we are going to introduce cloth bags for packing and further storage of our shoes and slippers if needed.
