The Papillon nano aerial drones are specially designed for reconnaissance and espionage. Its wings (and to a limited extent, its framework and body shell) are constructed with membrane displays that can either emit light through its nano-diodes, or rearrange emedded nano-pigments. With the correct balance, it can achieve virtual invisibility by blending seamlessly against its environment, while performing its duties. Coincidently, its wing and body displays can also be used to project colors or images for other purposes (entertainment, propaganda and research). With slight modification to its display and framework, certain models have been used in studying insect behavioral patterns and have been instrumental in the restoration of endangered butterfly populations.
