I dont know how it took me till you posted that most recent sole survivor art to learn you were a fallout enjoyed, it fills me with joy. Fave companion/storyline?
Of the main companions, I think my favorites are Dogmeat, Nick, and Piper, but I've probably brought Ada along more than anyone.
I really love the character of this robot, built by a band of survivors from spare parts, developing attachments and feelings. I appreciate her trying to square the conflicting input of grief and justice at the point where neither really fixes anything unless the root of that injury is repaired. Ada's friends died because the robots programming was flawed and lacked the ability to see struggling humans as viable, not because Isabel wanted them to kill. At that point, killing her would be cathartic but it punishes her for a mistake she rekt didn't intend and lowers us to the level of the other wasteland factions who perpetuate the broken exterminationist view of conflict. It lets Ada continue to grow as a living being in spite of her loss and status as a robot. It's something I love about Ada in my interpretation that I felt was lacking in my impression of Curie.
The game wants to give us a romanceable female synth who is even less experienced than we are, so porting a robot's memory into a "human" works but that's a bit cheap for my taste. I don't dislike Curie but I would've enjoyed the option to help her realize a human body wasn't strictly necessary to help people. Developing the "humanity" in a machine feels more in line with rebuilding a better world than finding ways to eliminate the anthropocentric limitations of machines in a world where they can be fully sentient.
And yes, I think you should still be able to romance Robot Curie. It seems to work for Mr. Zwicky and Miss Edna! I think that's sweet and let's be play this as a world where people realize joy is precious wherever you find it instead of queueing up Curie's emergent personality. We see plenty of other robots with fully functional autonomous identities. The ability to accept them for who they are and can become in spite of their origins is a wonderful aspect of the world for me.
In general, I like keeping folks around and trying to give them another chance to make a go of it in the Commonwealth without the Institute or the Brotherhood trying to pull the strings from above or below. I try not to kill anyone I know I don't have to unless they're going to keep trying to kill me.
I've destroyed the Prydwen and the Institute every time, but I wish there could've been opportunities to bring a few BOS characters over to my side in the process, Proctor Ingram, in particular. I also like that there are hard choices to make though, that characters you would want to join you can just have incompatible ideology and loyalty.
For the game's sake I back the minutemen and the Railroad, but ideologically, the Atom Cats are my "faction" of choice. They're good people, hacking out a place for themselves, putting their skills to less genocidal use, and trying to bring a bit of light and beauty to their little peninsula. They watch out for their friends and neighbors. They ain't so keen on exterminating anything in particular. They aren't looking to rule over anything in spite of their impressive power armor skills. My favorite outfit these days is the armored AC jacket and modded Mechanist helmet.
Far Harbor has some great missions too. The hotel murder mystery is a hoot and the settlement locations offer a lot to play with. I try to strike a live-and-let-live balance there too, preserving the synth refuge, Far Harbor, and the CoA if I can help it. I never rat them out to the BoS. The memory-retrieval mini game missions are miserable though! It glitched out on my first playthrough and I couldn't finish it before my PS4 died.
Favorite settlements are probably vault 88, the Starlite drive-in (makes a fanatic multistory apartment base), Spectacle Island, Abernathy farm, Egret Tours Marina, the lumber mill, Outpost Zimonja, Greygarden, and the lighthouse. I'm a fan of modding-off the build limits and resource cheats so I can build elaborate apartment blocks out of scaffolding, warehouse bits and vault pieces. I can't get enough of encasing ruined buildings in larger buildings like warehouses or vault atrium assets too. After a while, the settlement building becomes my favorite aspect of the game after the story and world-building.

sable grove as a residential town sprung up across the bay from remington during the 1830s/1840s. the area attracted those looking to get rich quick and eventually grew from a sleepy gold claim to the attractive town it is today. nowadays, if you visit the town, you’ll find period architecture in the trendy historical downtown area, which is host to thriving commerce and beautiful green spaces, and places such as the charming independent art house cameo cinema on main street. or maybe a stroll down the st. veil pier at dusk or dining at one of the restaurants in the harbor is more your speed. the town is the proud home of the sable grove wolverines, two-time state football champions, and national runner-ups, and the small-town suburban feel often attracts families looking for somewhere quieter than the city to settle down. to the south is beargrass national park, thorpe lighthouse, and beautiful beaches with pristine sand and opportunities to see local flora and fauna.
harborview
population - 8816 | price point - $$ to $$$$
harborview is an eclectic collection of charming bars, taverns, and restaurants all spread throughout the harbor. stop in at the bayfront tavern for a beer or to peruse their cocktail menu, or head to the boatyard, where you can find delicious caught-fresh today seafood dishes. the pride and joy of harborview is st. veil pier, home to pop-up street food nights if you’re looking for a bite to eat illuminated by multicolored string lights. you’ll also find the harbor marina here, with moorings for yachts and small boats. the housing in this area, though limited, is mostly midrange apartments above the various businesses along the seafront as well as some properties on the waterfront, as well as some higher-end waterfront properties.
hazelhurst
population - 18101 | price point - $$$ to $$$$
hazelhurst is the educational hub in sable grove. home to the jump cannon planetarium and observatory, which is just a short bus ride for kids to visit from the nearby elementary, middle, and high schools. the area here is full of green spaces and sports fields, and the local high school football and soccer teams have an enviable track record (go wolverines!) and huge crowds flock to watch them play. halley’s park is a popular haunt for dog walkers, picnickers, and hosts the annual county fair when it comes to town. the housing here is predominantly family homes, hitting the upper mid-range, with parents often moving here to ensure their child is in the catchment area and within easy distance to the schools.
maconville
population - 15649 | price point - $$$$ to $$$$$
maconville is most well-known for its gated community. beachfront property in a beautiful location as far removed from the lanes as you can get in the town. here you’ll find boutique shops and carefully planned streets and buildings. maconville is also home to the bennington golf & country club, where you can play a round of golf against the backdrop of the bay and then have mimosas at the bar. there’s also the maconville outdoor pool which is popular with families and kids, especially in the hot summer months. housing here is upmarket and expensive, and the area also has a thriving boutique hotel and holiday lets for you to enjoy the beautiful location.
midway
population - 25744 | price point - $$$ to $$$$$
midway is the historical downtown district. with its neat, wide brick streets and period charm, midway is popular with locals and tourists alike. home to cameo cinema, a plethora of independent stores, and a few chain stores as well. the town hall as well as sable grove sheriff’s department can be found in this neighborhood. the area often attracts those looking to find something to do in the town: striker’s alley, a multi-entertainment facility offering bowling and arcade games, is a popular stop, or there’s the meticulous sunnyvale park which is perfect for dog walking or a picnic in the summer. the housing is mostly apartment-based and mid-range in price.
the lanes
population - 12517 | price point - $ to $$
the lanes is one neighborhood in sable grove that you won’t find on postcards. leaning more rural, the lanes on the outskirts of town is the least affluent part of the town, with not much in the way of entertainment or business. despite the deprivation, there’s a sense of community here though. hyde woods runs along the edge of the lanes, bunched up right against elmore shores, a mobile home park. some claim the woods are haunted, and many worried parent forbid their children from exploring the caves nearby. rundown in comparison to the other neighborhoods in the town, housing here is made up of small family homes, trailers, and cheaper apartment blocks.
thorpe point
population - 6173 | price point - $$ to $$$$$
thorpe point is home to several sable grove landmarks, such as the towering thorpe lighthouse, beautiful local beaches, infamous wrecks, and beargrass national park. if you enjoy water activities, sports, and being close to nature, thorpe point has some of the most iconic scenery in the area. the housing here is varied here, ranging from homes more rural in nature to beach houses right on the waterfront. due to the location, some homes fall towards the more expensive end of the scale, though price can fall the further from town you’re willing to travel and has the greatest mix of price points.

BAD BUDDY FILMING LOCATIONS 7
This post is a continuation of my six previous ones on filming locations for Bad Buddy (linked here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5 and Part 6).
I was originally planning to post about other locations at Rangsit University, but then all of a sudden a bit of searching on Google Maps flushed out a couple of locations that I had previously thought would be hidden forever.
They had been SO HARD to find that I'm frankly astonished they could have been found at all – but here they are nonetheless, thanks to some stubborn research and the scary reach of Google. They're Pat's post-graduation apartment and Pran's residence in Singapore. 😊

So instead of writing up the Rangsit University locations, I'm going to dive into these first because they could be really easy to visit if you're going to Bangkok – like the suites at Tinidee, you could actually stay in them subject to availability. 👀
PatPran's two apartments in Ep.12 were actually represented by rooms/suites at Jasmine 59 Hotel, located at 9 Sukhumvit 59 (Boonchana), Sukhumvit Road, Klongtan-Nua, Wattana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand.

The hotel's website (linked here) has lots of images with architectural details, fittings and finishes that match what we see in Bad Buddy. With these as a reference, it's easy to infer that one of the smaller rooms at the hotel played the role of Pran's Singapore apartment:

But it's really this YouTube video linked below that clinches the deal. It's a video of hotel staff conducting a viewing for Korean YouTuber Moojin Thailand, and it shows the actual suite at Jasmine 59 Hotel that stood in for Pat's apartment (Suite 2510). 😍 The viewing of Suite 2510 commences at timestamp 10.39:

So here's one final image to round things off – it's from a building opposite the Jasmine 59 Hotel:

In the image above, the distinctive building to the left is Laviq Sukhumvit 57, and it was one of the clues that led me to the Jasmine 59 Hotel.
Truth be told, the scenes set at Pat's apartment in Bad Buddy contained very little information as to the location's true identity. Most of these scenes were interior ones, which typically offer up very few leads to go on. And the few exterior shots that BBS did have were all shrouded by night (and thus were lacking in visual detail).
But hope came from another direction – the same hotel suite was also used to represent Kluen's apartment in the Thai BL Star and Sky: Star in My Mind. 👍
Star in My Mind had many daylit scenes on that roof terrace, which provided a clearer view of the surrounding buildings and which in turn allowed for them to be identified – and they were Laviq Sukhumvit 57, MARU Ekkamai 2 and the Bangkok Business Center.
Triangulating these on Google Maps was the final step to identifying the location of Pat's apartment (and also Pran's residence in Singapore) – at the Jasmine 59 Hotel in Sukhumvit, Bangkok. 😍
