I want to write Amber outside of any angry black girl stereotypes and write her more in depth because she’s much more than a reactionary emotion.

Amber is smart and she's dealing with a lot. Ok work from there, Amber is at a great point in life as a young black woman where “ok everything ive done has cultivated to this much. Playtime is over time to get serious. Wait did even get to play during play time? Focus! They all look like they know something you don’t so you need to know more. You need to know everything! Before it happens! So it doesn’t happen again! Did I eat today?”

I want to see Amber burying herself in her studies and taking the opportunities allowed to her in that big ass white school.

I want to see her parallel Mark (whose she's still with in my au i do not care) where he’s getting beaten down by an enemy and Amber is getting covered in assignments and they both get back up because that's real hot girl shit

if you actually think about the timeline of the MarkGemma marriage they moved FAST. Like Adam Scott described the events of Chikhai Bardo pre-Lumon being five years long and somewhere else I think it's confirmed Gemma and Mark were married for four years. Does that mean one of them proposed in less than a year? That the engagement also lasted less than a year? By modern standards, that’s moving really fast!

A generous assessment of this is that they got engaged after a year of knowing each other and that we’re counting their engagement period as part of their four years of marriage, but to be clear that is not what we’ve been told, that’s fully unsupported speculation!

you know whats funny about top surgery. i keep catching myself doing things my mind remembers but my body has already forgotten. like ill instinctively go to put the towel around my whole body instead of just my waist after a shower. i wake up and get dressed and a stray thought of muscle memory looks for a clean binder ill never have to wear again. i keep looking down and expecting to see something that isnt there and with every glance in the mirror i realize more and more that falling in love with your body is possible. i still have a ways to go but i dont believe i will ever take this pride in what i accomplished and the relief in feeling like my skin can finally be a home for granted. my posture is so much better. theres a lightness to the way i carry myself now that didn't exist before. the weight of a sense of wrongness doesnt sit on my shoulders, a tiny atlas in its own right. if youre thinking about top surgery but youre scared for whatever reason, i promise you the other side is better than you can imagine.

"Doris, Aloysius, and Colton are on it," Alec assures, tilting his head in their direction. "And I have my speed rune," he adds, tapping the rune on the inside of his thigh.

Magnus follows the move, his eyes trailing further down before they rise back to his feet. "I know, darling," he winks, he summons another dry towel and hands it to Zacharias. "But I do so love you reminding me of that particular rune."
